Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of women's income on poverty levels and income inequality in the province of Bali. Using panel data from 9 city districts during the 2011-2022 period, the analytical model applied to test the functional relationship between variables is panel regression with a fixed effect approach. The research results reveal that women's income cannot significantly reduce poverty levels, but can improve income distribution in society. These findings have implications that efforts to reduce levels of inequality and poverty in the province can create an economic empowerment program that is oriented towards increasing women's income.

The results showed that the government has made every effort to develop tourism in Malaumkarta village by providing facilities and infrastructure to support tourism such as relaxing places (gazebos), public toilets, selling stalls, padang towers, and the construction of other facilities. However, the problem is that until now these facilities have not been used according to their needs, what was planned at the beginning was not implemented, especially the concept of local culture-based development for the Papuan people. In addition, until now the collection of retribution has not been implemented because the government is still focused on implementing development and empowering the community. The government expects good cooperation between the community in managing tourism because the community is the organizer of the sustainability of tourism.

Abstract

This research examines the dynamics of tourism policy and its impact on the economic development of society in Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive analysis to describe the impact of the policy.  Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and literature review. The research results show that tourism policy in Sorong Regency has had a positive and significant impact on the community's economy. There is an increase in the number of tourists visiting, which contributes to the growth of local community income through increased employment and business opportunities in the tourism sector. However, there are still challenges such as economic dependence on tourism and the need to increase human resource capacity and adequate supporting infrastructure. Apart from that, the economic development of the community in Sorong Regency is greatly influenced by holistic and sustainable tourism policies, as well as synergy between the government, community and tourism industry players. Policy recommendations include strengthening tourism promotion, improving the quality of services and infrastructure, and diversifying the economy to reduce dependence on the tourism sector.
