Abstract

The social conflict that occurred in Negeri Masihulan, Central Maluku Regency, in April 2025, resulted in dozens of residents' houses burning down and had serious psychological impacts, especially for children. Children as a vulnerable group experience fear, anxiety, and trauma due to conflict and displacement situations. This community service aims to provide psychosocial assistance through trauma healing as an effort for non-litigation legal protection for child victims of social conflict. This activity was carried out using the approach of playing, drawing, telling stories, and praying together, attended by 30 children aged 5-13 years. The results of the activity showed positive changes in the emotional condition of children, a growing sense of security, and an increased spirit of togetherness after the conflict. Trauma healing has proven to be an effective instrument in psychological recovery as well as a form of implementation of community-based legal protection. It is hoped that this activity will become a model in handling child victims of conflict in areas prone to social conflict in Maluku.

Abstract

This research, entitled The Impact of Online Gambling on Household Harmony from the Perspective of Family Law in Tual City, aims to: 1) Identify and analyze the economic impact of online gambling on households in Tual City; 2) Examine the socio-cultural factors associated with online gambling practices; and 3) Investigate how these factors affect household harmony. The research method employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including: 1) Structured/in-depth interviews; 2) Documentation; and 3) Digital media, with a sample of 12 primary respondents. This research uses descriptive analysis techniques that systematically explain the research to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of online gambling on household harmony. Many respondents expressed complaints regarding the decline in family income, the occurrence of household conflicts (60%) leading to divorce (30%), debt accumulation, the loss of spousal rights and obligations, poor family economic conditions, and marital status that ultimately remains uncertain and results in disharmonious households. Overall, the research findings confirm the hypothesis that online gambling has a significant negative impact on household harmony in Tual City through mechanisms of economic weakness within families, communication disruption, psychological stress, and the erosion of custom-religion-based social values.

Abstract

This research analyzes the forms of household conflicts and their resolution strategies in Tual City from the perspective of Islamic family law. The high divorce rate in Tual City is a concerning phenomenon, with dominant factors including economic conflicts, recurrent quarrels, infidelity, domestic violence (DV), and interference from extended families which actually exacerbates the situation. This research employs a qualitative method with a normative-empirical approach. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with married couples, religious leaders, and traditional leaders in Tual City, and were analyzed together with secondary data in the form of Tual Religious Court decisions of 2023 (Numbers 33, 34, 36, and 37/Pdt.G/2023). The findings indicate that household conflicts in Tual City possess distinctive characteristics influenced by socio-cultural structures, kinship systems (fam), and the still-strong Kei customs. From the perspective of Islamic law, conflict resolution mechanisms through mau’izhah (admonition), hajr (temporary separation), and tahkim (family mediation) are acTually relevant to be applied; however, their implementation has not been optimal due to misconceptions and excessive family interference. This research concludes that the effectiveness of Islamic law-based conflict resolution heavily depends on the couple's understanding, the objectivity of family members, and the professionalism of mediators. The research recommendations include strengthening family education, professionalizing mediation, and fostering collaboration among religious leaders, traditional leaders, and the regional government.
