Abstract

This study aimed to determine students’ career understanding on the career decision making self-efficacy of Junior High School students in Central Java Province. The study used qualitative method, comparative test for data analysis, and self-efficacy scale to collect the career decision making data of students who have and have not gained career understanding. In this way, Bandura’s theory of self-efficacy was used as a framework theory, while cluster random sampling was employed to collect the study sample (N = 311). The data collection was done through a direct survey using 25 questions regarding career decision making self-efficacy (CDSE-SF) and career understanding questionnaire. Based on the data analysis, the researchers found significant differences in CDSE-SF results of students who have gained career understanding and not, including (1) Understanding of various alternative jobs (t(311) = 4.911, p < .000), (2) Information on the world of work requirements (t(311) = 4.602, p <.000), (3) Information on job vacancies (t(311) = 4.111, p < .000), and (4) Understanding of job qualifications (t(311) = 3.460, p < .001). These findings recommend the students to improve their career decision making using career guidance and counseling strategies in form of various alternative services, such as career counselling services, group guidance, classroom service, and even support from other parties.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tidak langsung kemampuan beradaptasi karir yang dimediasi oleh peer support yang dialami oleh santri di pesantren. Dukungan sebaya atau peer support adalah salah satu bentuk dukungan sosial yang dirasakan sehingga dapat dianggap sebagai jumlah total faktor seseorang yang menyadari bahwa individu tersebut ada di lingkungan tersebut dan sedang didukung. Sementara itu, tidak semua santri memiliki kemampuan untuk beradaptasi dengan karir mereka. Santri di pesantren masih kurang pemahaman tentang adaptasi dengan karir. Oleh karena itu, fokus dalam kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah dukungan teman sebaya atau peer support dapat menentukan kemampuan adaptasi karir pada santri di pesantren. Metode tinjauan sistematis yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan kajian literatur review. Kajian ini merupakan sebuah artikel konseptual yang didasarkan pada review artikel dengan jurnal bereputasi. Hasil telaah literatur ini mengindikasikan bahwa psikoedukasi kelompok dengan mediasi peer support dapat meningkatkan adaptabilitas karir santri di pesantren. Penyampaian menggunakan metode psikoedukasi dapat juga dimanfaatkan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan santri. Abstract. This study aims to determine the indirect relationship between career adaptability mediated by peer support experienced by students in Islamic boarding schools. Peer support is a form of perceived social support so that it can be considered as the total number of factors a person realizes that the individual is in the environment and is being supported. Meanwhile, not all students have the ability to adapt to their careers. Santri in pesantren still lack an understanding of adaptation to a career. Therefore, the focus of this study is to find out whether peer support can determine the career adaptability of students in Islamic boarding schools. The methode systematic review carried out in this study was using a literature review review. This study is a conceptual article based on a review of articles by reputable journals. The results of this literature review indicate that group psychoeducation with peer support mediation can improve the career adaptability of students in Islamic boarding schools. Submissions using psychoeducational methods can also be used to develop students' skills.

Abstract

Abstrak: Latar belakang penelitian, pendidikan keperawatan yang mendasari bahwa student engagement sangat penting dan berpengaruh terhadap kualitas perawat. Keterlibatan mahasiswa bukanlah hal baru di pendidikan tinggi tetapi terus memainkan peran yang lebih penting dalam institusi pendidikan keperawatan terutama untuk membangun perilaku peduli mahasiswa keperawatan. Tujuan penelitian, untuk menggambarkan keterlibatan mahasiswa mahasiswa keperawatan. Metode penelitian, desain penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif pada keterlibatan mahasiswa mahasiswa Keperawatan Poltekkes Semarang. 250 siswa direkrut dalam penelitian ini dengan random sampling. Kuesioner keterlibatan siswa digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil, mahasiswa keperawatan memiliki rerata skor terendah (12,24, SD=1,473) pada domain performance engagement kemudian disusul oleh emotional engagement (15,84, SD=1,673), skill engagement (15,94, SD=1,695) dan partisipasi/interaksi (20,75, SD=2.043). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor engagement mahasiswa keperawatan (64,77, SD=5.922) hal ini menunjukkan bahwa engagement mahasiswa keperawatan berada pada level sedang. Implikasi, keterlibatan kinerja, emosional dan keterampilan mahasiswa keperawatan perlu ditingkatkan ke kualitas mahasiswa yang lebih baik. Pendidik perawat dan sekolah keperawatan perlu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih baik termasuk guru sangat berperan dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Abstract. Research background, nursing education underlying that student engagement is very important and effect on quality of nurses. Student engagement is not new to higher education but continued to play more essential role in nursing education institutions especially to build nursing student caring behavior. Research purpose, is to describe the student engagement of nursing students. Research method, this research design was desriptive study in student engagemnt of Poltekkes Semarang Nursing students. 250 students were recruited in this study by randam sampling. Questionares of student engagement were used to colect the data. Descriptive analysis was used to analyse the data. Result, nursing students have the lowest mean score (12.24, SD=1.473) on performance engagement domain then fowlowed by emotional engagement (15.84, SD=1.673), skill engagement (15.94, SD=1.695) and participation/interaction engagement (20.75, SD=2.043). The result showed that mean score of nursing student engagement (64.77, SD=5.922) this indicates that the engagement of nursing student in moderate level. Implication, nursing students engagement of performance, emotional and skill need to improve to better quality of students. Nurse educators and nursing schools need to create better learning environment including teachers are very play role in increasing student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the existence of a mediating variable in the form of hardiness in the implementation of group psychoeducation therapy to increase tolerance for academic distress. The research method used was an experiment, a pretest-posttest control group design involving 16 final year students who were selected proposive sampling from 135 students. The results indicate that there is an indirect effect on the implementation of group psychoeducation therapy in increasing the tolerance for academic distress through hardiness as a positively related mediation. This effect was considered to be greater than the direct effect of the psychoeducation therapy group on tolerance for academic distress, although they were both positively related.
