Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 opened the eyes of every leader to fundamentally change, in every aspect of life. Changes and effects of the 4.0 revolution on education, progress and improvement in the quality and personality of its leaders. The development of science and technology undeniably influences the process of school organization in producing outputs that are ready to compete in the world of big data and discruptions. Responding to the challenges of the digital age, leaders need to prepare capable and skilled human resources, able to solve problems, communicate and collaborate with all lines. Teachers must get out of the mindset and safety zone for the learning process in an all-digital era and the principal is prepared externally and internally to adjust to the development of the industrial era 4.0 and distribution. The leader's personality is the total ethical appearance in leading and communicating and socializing with members of the organization.

Abstract

 Leadership plays an important role in realizing the vision and mission of educational institutions. Various models of suitable leadership styles can be adopted and applied by a school principal at the educational institution he leads. During the Covid-19 pandemic, a leader needs to apply the right leadership style. The transformational leadership style in high school (SMA) is quite ideal to be applied during the Covid pandemic. Transformational leadership has a close meaning with charismatic and vision, because by definition it focuses on change and transformation. Transformational leadership has four characteristics known as the 4Is, namely Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individual Consideration. Transformational leadership style has a significant and positive influence to bring about change. This leadership style is one of the leadership styles that can be implemented in high school during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Principals are leaders in educational institutions who have an influence on the achievement of the school's vision and mission. The regional situation that continues to change due to the Covid-19 pandemic requires leadership who is able to read the opportunities and challenges when the crisis is not over. Leadership with a situational approach is one form of solution in implementing the ever-changing educational process. Situational approach models which include contingency leadership, three-dimensional leadership and situational leadership models, are the right choice to be implemented in high school. Because the condition of the area that changes easily from the green, yellow and red zones demands changes in the learning process. With situational leadership any problems and changes in regional conditions can be overcome.
