Abstract

Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) Putat Jaya Surabaya focus on soap business and has not found a standardized formula to ensure product repeatability from each time of production. Pengadian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) activity by Surabaya Pharmacy Academy was expected to be able to assist these UKM to share information through training on handwash liquid soap formulations that meet SNI standards. The content of this counselling not only about soap formula with and without plant oil and their formulation but also explained how to evaluate handwash liquid soap. The result of this PkM is additional knowledge for UKM Putat Jaya about handwash liquid soap formulas that met the requirements of the SNI and information of simple evaluation that can be done independently for the repeatability production. UKM Putat Jaya have been educated about handwash liquid soap that meets SNI standart.

Abstract

Dengue fever is endemic in Indonesia. Using mosquito repellent is an effective way to prevent mosquito bites. This community service is in the form of webinar “the formulation of an anti-mosquito spray used infusion method of lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus) leaf and lime peel (Citrus aurantifolia)”. Natural formula is safer than chemicals especially for children. The audiences of this counseling are the parents and teachers of KB-RA Perwanida's. Counseling accompanied by video playback of formulations and question and answer discussions. The mosquito repellent spray had an attractive color, fresh aroma and moisture on the skin. The audiences stated that the webinar was very useful so that it was usefull and meet the target

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus type 2 is the most common degenerative disease in Indonesia, so that the regulation of food intake is important. Food sources of carbohydrates with a low glycemic index (GI) can control blood sugar levels. GI is the rate at which food is absorbed into blood glucose. Purple sweet potato has a low GI so it is suitable as an alternative source of carbohydrates. Different cooking processes can affect the GI of the purple sweet potato, the frying technique produces the lowest GI compared to the boiling or baking technique. The manufacture of hybrid purple sweet potato flour is able to replace the use of wheat flour for processed food products. Hybrid purple sweet potato flour can increase the antioxidant content.

Abstract

Ekstrak daun ubi jalar ungu (Ipomoea batatas Lamk) varietas Antin-3 (Ekstrak daun Antin-3) yang mengandung polifenol dan flavonoid yang memiliki kemampuan sebagai antioksidan. Polifenol dan Flavonoid memiliki bioavailabilitas yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkecil ukuran partikel ekstrak menjadi nanopartikel sehingga penyerapan saluran cerna dapat meningkat serta evaluasi fisiknya untuk memastikan partikel nano seperti ukuran partikel (10-1.000 nm), indeks polidispersitas (PDI) ( < 0,5) dan nilai potensial zeta (±20mV sampai ±-30mV). Formulasi ekstrak nano dengan metode gelasi ionik menggunakan kitosan: NaTPP. Ada tiga Tiga sampel yang diteliti (F1:F2:F3) yaitu dengan perbandingan ekstrak daun Antin-3:kitosan:NaTPP (1:1:1 ); (1:5:1); (1:10:1). Evaluasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan PSA (Particle Size Analyzer). Hasil evaluasi sampel (F1:F2:F3) menggunakan PSA (Particle Size Analyzer) untuk ukuran partikel berturut-turut (1.482 nm; 564,38 nm; 734,36 nm); untuk PdI berturut-turut (0,3482; 0,4272; 0,381) dan untuk nilai potensial zeta masing-masing (5,19mV; 21,57mV; 33,4mV). F3 merupakan sampel yang memenuhi kriteria ukuran partikel, PdI dengan nilai zeta potensial
