Abstract

This study aims to examine the motivation to seek knowledge from the perspective of the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and its implications for Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method through analysis of various literature sources including the Qur'an, hadith, scientific books, and relevant journal articles. The results of the study indicate that knowledge in Islam originates from Allah SWT and has intellectual and spiritual dimensions. The Prophet's hadith emphasizes that seeking knowledge is an obligation for every Muslim regardless of gender, so that the activity of seeking knowledge has the value of worship and becomes a source of learning motivation. The implications of this study indicate that Islamic education needs to instill learning motivation oriented towards moral, spiritual, and social responsibility values in order to achieve comprehensive educational goals.

Abstract

In discussing the word kaffah in the Al-Qur'an, it is only found in one verse, the meaning is "whole", which is only found in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 208, as for the problem that will be discussed in this research, it is how all humans can understand that the existence of Allah SWT and the Messengers and being able to know that all the blessings received by humans are from the power of Allah SWT. So the background of this research is so that humans know the Oneness of Allah SWT. And that only Islam is the truest religion, namely the Islamic religion that was conveyed by the Prophet Muhammad to all mankind. This research uses a library method, namely reviewing data and sources in this research by taking references from several books and journals related to the meaning of kaffah. The interpretive method used by the mufassir in this research is very different, such as Ibn Katsir's interpretation in the book Tafsir Al-Qur'an Al-'Adhim is a Muqarran (comparative) interpretation, while Wahbah Al-Zuhaili's interpretation in the book Tafsir Al-Munir is a Tahilili (examining) interpretation. Verse by verse and letter by letter according to the order in the Qur'an). The results of this research are so that readers can know and understand and spread the religion of Islam and become part of Islam as a whole without exception or only half of it. As for Ibn Kathir's opinion in the Tafsir Al-Qur'an Al-'Adhim, the meaning of kaffah is "whole", in embracing Islam because in this verse Allah SWT. Ordered all his ummah to embrace Islam as a whole without exception. Wahbah Al-Zuhaili's opinion in the Book of Tafsir Al-Munir means kaffah is "whole", namely that humans as a whole convert to Islam and not just partially or half-heartedly and apply the teachings of the Islamic religion in everyday life and practice them with other humans.

Abstract

Hadith is a primary source of Islamic law and plays an important role in regulating the life of the Muslim community, including in the economic sphere. Hadith not only explains the contents of the Qur’an but also serves as a practical guide for managing capital responsibly. This study employs a qualitative approach based on library research, allowing the researcher to examine primary and secondary literature in depth, including the Qur’an, Hadith collections (Shahih al-Bukhari, Shahih Muslim, at-Tirmidhi), as well as books and scholarly articles discussing Islamic economics, education, and economic ethics. The findings indicate that Hadith consistently emphasizes fundamental principles such as justice, honesty, the prohibition of riba, and the practice of ethical and transparent trade. These principles serve as a guide for Muslims in utilizing capital not merely for personal material gain but also for the collective welfare of society.

Abstract

Hadith is the second primary source of Islamic teachings after the Qur’an and holds a strategic position in shaping the Islamic economic system. Hadith not only functions as an explanatory source for Qur’anic verses that are general in nature, but also serves as a normative and practical guideline in regulating the economic behavior of Muslims. This article aims to analyze in depth the objectives and functions of hadiths related to economics, as well as their relevance from the perspectives of Islamic education and Islamic economics. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, with data sources consisting of the Qur’an, authoritative hadith collections, scholarly journal articles, and books on Islamic economics, particularly the works of La Coy and Ahmad Mohammad Tidjani. The findings reveal that economic hadiths aim to uphold justice, prevent oppression and injustice in economic transactions, and shape economic ethics based on the values of honesty, trustworthiness, and social responsibility. In the context of Islamic education, economic hadiths function as a source of values in the formation of students’ economic character.
