Abstract

Abstract

Kata Kunci : ekosistem perkotaan; lanskap; kriteria; kualitas visual; kualitas hidup perkotaan; sense of landscape; ruang terbuka hijau; RTH; suhu perkotaan; udara bersih

Abstract

ABSTRACTThere is a problem that is frequently complained by the nursery which usually cultivated orange jessamine (Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack) from seed as a landscape plant. The problem is orange jessamine usually flowering although the size of the plants are still very small (about 5 cm) and even only has two leafs. These condition tends to be less favorable for the nursery because the orange jessamine grows slow because of vegetative growth was delayed due to the generative growth is underway. This study aims to see how important the presence of orange jessamine flowers in the nursery and how its relationship with branching, plant height, numberof leaves and number of leaflets. This research used a simple linear regression analysis and correlation of 150 orange jessamine plant seeds. The results showed only the correlation of the amount of flowers with plant height that has no significant correlation. Nevertheless, the presence of flowers in the nursery remains important because every increase in the number of flowers, there is also an increase in the number of branch, number of leaf, and number of leaflet. Keywords: Murraya paniculata (L.) Abstract

Rapid urban development demands a lot of infrastructure development. The development aims to support the activities of urban communities. Many research has been done on the structure, but the assessment of the visual quality of these structures is still very rarely done, especially in Indonesia. Flyovers are one of the structures that are often present in cities to solve congestion problems. Jakarta as the capital city, has many of these structures. Unfortunately, unwittingly adding structures can affect the visual quality of the surrounding environment. There are many ways to beautify these structures such as by adding plants, giving ornaments in the form of reliefs, to painting with mural art. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the visual quality of flyover structures. The methods used in this article include scenic beauty estimation (SBE), semantic differential (SD), factor analysis, multidimensional scaling, and Kendall’s W. The results obtained are different levels of visual quality of flyover structures based on the appearance of complementary ornaments. Based on SBE analysis, the structure with reliefs that were not colored showed poor visual quality with an SBE value of -46,483. High visual quality based on SBE analysis, namely the structure with the softscape element in the form of landscape plants (89,777). The impression caused by the structure with softscape elements in the form of landscape plants is considered shadier and attractive.

Abstract

Maybe some people still don't know when they hear the term of visual pollution. However, visual objects are important assets in supporting the character of an area. Even these visual objects sometimes become landmarks or ecomarks in the area and then become a tourist attraction. Unlike other countries, which already have regulations on visual preservation, in Indonesia it seems that no one has spoken out loud about this issue. Without regulations regarding visual preservation, it can pose a threat in the form of a source of visual discomfort that has an impact on the image of the area and tourism. Likewise with the uniqueness of the cultural landscape, both tangible and intangible, the wrong handling will eliminate the values in it. This article aims to provide an overview of the position of tourism policies made by local governments in an effort to preserve the visual and cultural landscape using a case study approach in Wakatobi Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Wakatobi was chosen because it is one of Indonesia's ten priority destinations which, after receiving special attention from the government, began to show the development of tourism infrastructure. The data sources used in this study were secondary data obtained from various research articles, documents, reports, and related legal products. This article is expected to provide an enrichment of literature related to the preservation of visual and cultural landscapes in tourism. The results show that there is no specific policy to protect visual preservation in Wakatobi. Compared to visual preservation, efforts to preserve the cultural landscape are far more developed, although not yet deep.

Abstract

The military settlement (ksatrian), is an area where soldiers live with their families. Arrangements within military settlement generally feature a firm, rigid, static and monotonous to maintain private boundaries. But often the boundaries become unclear because in the public areas are also found the same ambiance. Not optimal use of public space due to the citizens' resentment becomes the trigger of the problem. To re-optimize the role of public space in the life of the citizens of ksatrian, an analysis is needed to perform a rearrangement based on the needs of the user, physical facilities, thermal comfort and visual aesthetic. This research through 3 (three) stages that is location observation, behavior setting analysis with person-centered mapping approach and recommendation in 4 (four) location observation. Prominent activities found in all public spaces are cycling, chatting, running, feeding children, playing kites, playing jump rope, soccer, and basketball. In each observation area found activity that is not in accordance with the function of the space. The mismatched landscape usage is caused by the non-fulfillment of recreational facilities that the residents need. Proper landscape element arrangement can result in good interaction between users and the landscape as a basis for improving the quality of the battalion
