Abstract

Baubau City has the Buton Kraton Fortress, which is the largest fort in the world and an iconic tourist attraction in the city. Studies regarding tourists' bad experiences related to tourism at the Buton Kraton Fortress have not yet been explored. Bad experiences in cultural tourism activities can give rise to negative sentiments that influence visits to a destination. We used three approaches to explore this negative sentiment, namely interviews with five tourists who had come to enjoy the fort as well as a key person, autoethnography, and netnography. This study aims to explore negative sentiment in the Buton Kraton Fortress. The results show that negative sentiment by tourists, the local community, and online communities most often highlight the problems of waste, spatial and green planning, and city infrastructure. Talking about Buton Kraton Fortress cannot be limited to just the area surrounded by the fort structure but also the surrounding environment. It is very important to note that in planning and managing Buton Kraton Fortress, the approach used must be in line with history and culture itself. The aspects of authenticity, originality, uniqueness, variety, beauty, and integrity are the basis that must always be used because negative sentiment arises when these six aspects are not considered in the planning and management of the Buton Palace Fortress and its surrounding environment.

Abstract

Background: Stunting leads to increased morbidity and mortality among children. To accelerate stunting reduction, family assistance teams support at-risk families, requiring engaging and accessible educational resources. However, existing educational media materials are fragmented and lack a comprehensive approach, resulting in gaps during family assistance sessions. To improve accessibility and efficacy, a comprehensive, technology-based educational tool is necessary. Objectives: To develop a Stunting Prevention Education Media Package (PaSti PenTing) based on technology and local wisdom. Methods: This study used a Research and Development approach conducted in Cirebon City. The stages included the formulation of basic concepts, and in-depth interviews with experts, namely the Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Midwives Association, the Head of the Cirebon City Health Office, the Head of the Cirebon City Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Office and lecturers with S3 backgrounds. These interviews provided input related to the materials used for designing the PaSti PenTing. The research instrument uses in-depth interview guidance and data analysis was carried out using content analysis. Results: Based on expert input, the PaSti PenTing design was developed. The main menu consists of an introduction and a menu for target groups (teenagers, brides-to-be, pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and toddlers). Each menu contains educational materials. Conclusions: PasTi PenTing is a comprehensive media that can be used by the assistance team and families at risk of stunting to improve knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors in stunting prevention.

Abstract

Abstract

Adolescents have a fairly high risk of reproductive health problems, namely premarital sexual behavior. One of the factors that causes adolescent sexual behavior is a lack of reproductive health knowledge. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of reproductive health videos which include physical changes, healthy association, prevention of sexual harassment and the impact of promiscuity. This research method uses a quasi-experimental pre and post-test design with a sample of 30 students aged 10-12 years in three elementary schools and supported by qualitative data through interviews. Data analysis includes quantitative (univariable) and qualitative data with content analysis. The study's results obtained a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05) so that statistically there was a significant difference between the respondents' knowledge before and after the intervention. A total of 3 respondents experienced a decrease in knowledge, 6 respondents remained, and 21 respondents increased. After participating in learning using reproductive health videos, student assessments were obtained, namely 27 students (90%) gave very good opinions, and 3 students (10%) gave good opinions about the use of videos as learning media. Conclusion: The use of reproductive health videos in elementary school students can increase knowledge about reproductive health to prevent risky sexual behaviors

Abstract

This study explores the impacts of tourism development from the perspective of indigenous people in Canggu, Bali (a village undergoing rapid transition from agriculture to tourism). As tourism reshapes the physical, socio-cultural, and economic landscape of Canggu, concerns arise over the sustainability of this transformation. Using a qualitative approach, data were gathered through participant observation and in-depth interviews with 17 informants, followed by thematic analysis. Findings indicate that tourism has brought economic benefits such as increased income, new job opportunities, and improved infrastructure. Ownership of accommodation units by many households reflects a relatively equitable distribution of economic gains. However, the shift away from agriculture raises concerns about food security and the erosion of traditional livelihoods. Culturally, tourism has helped revive arts and rituals, yet also risks commodification and altered communal values. Traditions like Ngayah have adapted into more pragmatic forms. Environmentally, residents are worried about land conversion, congestion, pollution, water scarcity, and the existence of irrigation systems like Subak. Weak regulation and declining trust in governance worsen these issues. Despite this, tourism remains widely supported, highlighting a tension between economic benefit and ecological stability. The study calls for community-driven tourism strategy that balances growth with cultural and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

A decision-making tool for family planning flipchart is used for contraceptive counseling, but the use of this flipchart is suboptimal. In this study, primary study resulted in innovative decision-making tools for family planning applications. “Si KB Pintar” was also developed, a tool that women can use to discuss contraceptives with their husbands after family planning counseling. This study analyzed the effectiveness of family planning counseling during pregnancy by applying postpartum contraceptive use. Analytical quantitative quasi-experimental methods were used with a control group design. The sampling method was two-stage sampling. In the first stage, from 22 primary health care (PHC) in Cirebon City, Indonesia, 11 intervention and 11 control groups were selected using random allocation. Five participants were taken from each PHC in the second stage using simple random sampling. The findings indicated that participants given family planning counseling using an application had a 2.4 times higher likelihood of using postpartum contraception compared to flipcharts after controlling for age and parity variables. Because these applications are only for Android users, applications should be produced that all users can utilize in further study.

Abstract

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tourism constraints have created a challenge for inclusive tourism, especially for older people and people with comorbidities. This study examined intrapersonal constraints’ effect on the travel intentions of people facing fewer opportunities for tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which could disrupt their well-being fulfillment. The data were collected through an online survey of Jakarta citizens aged 46 years and older from the end of June to September 2021, and a total of 337 responses were accumulated. This study applied partial least square structural equation modeling to test the moderating effect of intrapersonal constraints toward the theory of planned behavior and revealed that the travel intentions of people at high risk from COVID-19 were considered high and were directly influenced by subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and intrapersonal constraints. High travel intention implies that intrapersonal constraints do not extensively weaken at-risk people’s desire to travel during the new normal.
