Creativity Education Model through Dance Creation for Students of Junior High School Malarsih, M.; Herlinah, H.

Abstract

This study aims to realize dance as a real product of a dance education process. The product is packaged in a form of audio-visual as well as a scientific publication. As the benefit from this study, the product can be used by school and specifically by dance teacher as a guidance in conducting dance lesson at school. The study on the model of creativity education through the creation is being understood as a form of developmental research. As a developmental research, the research plan is initiated by analyzing the teaching material related to dance lesson, and relate it to the creativity education which has to be accomplished through dance lesson, specifically for Junior High School students. The study will be continued with theoretical/ conceptual analysis and observation which is related to creativity education through the dance creation. In the end of this study, model of creativity education through dance creation is produced, particularly for students of Junior High School level. Results of the study show that, in doing creativity activity through dance creation, the value of the dance as an art is not become the primary aim. Moreover, the main aim of this process is towards the creativity process itself. While producing and creating the dance, two major educational points are derived, which are: the creativity and product value in a form of dance. Based on background of the idea, through this pilot project, the creativity of creating dance for public schools students, especially Junior High School, is possible to be done and used as a dance creativity learning model in Junior High School. Two suggestions are formulated in this study: (1) it is suggested for dance teachers in public schools, in this context is Junior High School teachers, to set their teaching and learning process into the creativity education as it is implied in curriculum. (2) In order to achieve the creativity education itself, the dance creation as one of art subject which is given to schools, should become the main priority in its learning implementation as an instrument to build students character to be more creative in thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk pertunjukan Fragmen Sumilake Pedhut Katangga dalam upacara ritual bathok bolu di Desa Sambiroto- Purwomartani- Kalasan- Sleman. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sambiroto- Purwomartani- Kalasan- Sleman. Sebagai subyek penelitian adalah juru kunci Keraton Bathok Bolu, dan para sesepuh di Desa Sambiroto, serta dari Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Sleman. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara: studi pustaka, observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Pendekatan penelitian yang dipergunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menyebutkan bahwa, Pertunjukan fragmen sumilake pedhut katangga dalam upacara ritual bathok bolu dilaksanakan setiap setahun sekali pada tanggal sepuluh sura. Tradisi ini dilakukan dalam rangka bersih desa yang dilaksanakan di kraton kajiman alas katangga. Kesenian ini juga berfungsi sebagai apresiasi masyarakat, sebagai hiburan, sebagai presentasi estetis, penunjang ekonomi, dan sebagai identitas kekuasaan pemerintah. Kata Kunci: fragmen sumilake pedhut katangga, seni ritual, dan seni tontonan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan alumni Jurusan Pendidikan Seni Tari FBS  UNY.  Subjek penelitian adalah alumni tahun 2007  –  2010.  Objek penelitian berkenaan dengan lapangan pekerjaan yang diperoleh alumni. Pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner dan analisis dilakukan dengan deskrptif kuantitatif. Hasil  penelitian sebagai  berikut. Pertama, sebagian  alumni Jurusan Pendidikan Seni Tari yang lulus 4 tahun terakhir masih bekerja sebagai guru tidak tetap. Kedua, gaji pertama yang diterima alumni terendah Rp. 100.000,00 – Rp. 300.000,00 dan gaji tertinggi Rp. 1.000.000,00. Ketiga, masa tunggu pekerjaan para alumni relatif pendek ( 6 bulan). Keempat, kurikulum Jurusan Pendidikan Seni Tari sesuai dengan tuntutan dunia kerja. Kelima, Perlu dipikirkan perluasan kerja  bagi  alumni  Jurusan  Pendidikan  Seni  Tari.  Untuk  itu  perlu  adanya pembenahan kurikulum yang tepat agar para alumni mampu bersaing di bidang pekerjaan.

Abstract

The research was purposed to make efforts to improve Dance Education Department student dancing abilities of Topeng Gunungsari Dance by Art Appreciation method and practiced routinely . The research used design models which were developed by Kemmis Mc. Taggart consisted of four components included; planning, action, observation, and reflection. The researchers planned and established action types which would be done, that were; student practiced together by masks, and watched a Topeng Gunungsari Dance performance by video recording routinely. The research result of dance studying was that by the practiced and watched a Topeng Gunungsari Dance video recording routinely could improve dancing abilities of Topeng Gunungsari dance. Key words: dancing ability, art appreciation, routine practice.

Abstract

  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media video pembelajaran tari yang bisa digunakan untuk menunjang pembelajaran mata kuliah Tari Surakarta I bagi mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Seni Tari Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Kompetensi yang ingin dicapai melalui media pembelajaran ini adalah meningkatnya teknik gerak, wirama, dan penjiwaan mahasiswa.   Pengembangan video pembelajaran tari Surakarta I ini menggunakan model prosedural dengan 8 tahap pokok, yaitu: (1) analisis kebutuhan, (2) perancangan, (3) pengembangan produk awal, (4) uji validasi ahli, (5) uji coba terbatas, (6) revisi 1 (7) uji coba lapangan, dan (8) evaluasi akhir.   Setelah melalui proses pengembangan produk yaitu melalui uji ahli dan uji coba terbatas diperoleh media video pembelajaran tari. Persepsi mahasiswa tentang kemampuan media untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan pemahaman teknik gerak, irama, ekspresi dan penjiwaan tari adalah sebagai berikut: Perolehan skor persepsi mahasiswa tentang kemampuan media dalam meningkatkan motivasi  belajar adalah: 4,25;  pemahaman teknik gerak 4,8;  pemahaman irama 4, 25; pemahaman ekspresi dan penjiwaan 4. Sedangkan dari segi teknis, persepsi mahasiswa tentang kualitas peraga yang dipergunakan adalah 4,05; kualitas gambar 3,65; kualitas suara 3,8;  dan kebermaknaan materi 4,35. Rata-rata skor keseluruhan adalah 4,14. Berdasarkan perolehan skor maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa tentang kemampuan dan kualitas media video tari Gambyong Pareanom secara keseluruhan adalah  baik.

Abstract

This research was aimed at improving learning motivation to danceand finding a learning model which is appropriate to State Junior High SchoolStudents in Yogyakarta.The steps of the research were adopted from a design model developedby Kemmis Mc.Taggart. It consists of four components, namely plan, action,observation and reflection, which form a chain in a cycle. The instruments of theresearch include class observation sheets, field notes and questionnaires. Themotivation improvement was measured through the learning process and result.The aspects measured in the learning process are attention, relevance,self-confidence and satisfaction. The learning result was evaluated through live artappreciation activities, which were also recorded in video. It was known that theroutine activities could increase the students’ learning motivation to dance.Key words: learning motivation, art appreciation
