Abstract

The seaweed farming workers at Randusanga Wetan and Kulon village were facing a problem which also affecting their welfare, mainly their income. They could not decide their exact income because of their employment status, production and price instability. Coping strategy, which had been implemented, was one way to solve their problem as it made a connection and an active strategy. The form of ‘connection’ negotiated the portion of profit-sharing and enabled a household to borrow some money. Then, the active strategy was implemented by wild crab fishing, involving family member, intercropping with fish, working for 2-3 farmers, and utilizing ‘sumpil’. This way, they could achieve a good welfare while at the same time, kept producing for their income.

Abstract

The weakening of the exchange rate (Rupiah USD) in Indonesia before the pandemic and the fluctuating exchange rate during the pandemic did not show an impact on the value of exports. In another point of view based on the theory, the exchange rate that is experiencing appreciation causes the decrease of exports’ value and on the other hand, a depreciating exchange rate will cause exports to increase. However, before the pandemic the exchange rate that is weakened did not increase the value of exports significantly and during the COVID-19 pandemic the exchange rate fluctuated high which did not cause the value of exports to decline. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether there is a causal relationship between exchange rates and exports in Indonesia before and during the COVID-19 pandemic or not. This study used the Granger Causality test method to see the relationship between two variables. The results show there was no unidirectional or bidirectional causal relationship that before and during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of using digital marketing on MSME business turnover in Salatiga City before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research sample is 134 businesses representing all small and medium enterprises in Salatiga City. The research uses data on the use of digital marketing by business actors in Salatiga City. The analysis technique uses descriptive statistics, qualitative analysis and regression models. The results show that the use of digital marketing has proven to have an effect on the turnover of SMEs during the Covid-19 pandemic. SMEs who did not use digital marketing during the Covid-19 pandemic had a lower turnover than SMEs who used digital marketing during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the factors influencing the use of digital marketing by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and to examine the factors affecting the preference for digital marketing usage by MSMEs in the city of Salatiga. The research sample consists of 135 business units representing MSMEs in Salatiga. Data analysis techniques involve descriptive statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, binomial and multinomial logistic regression. The research findings provide evidence of the implementation of the UTAUT theory, particularly concerning performance expectations and facilitating conditions, significantly influencing the probability of digital marketing usage and the marketing of business products. Surprisingly, acceptance as part of performance expectations has a negative impact on digital marketing usage, especially on social media platforms. Furthermore, digital marketing proves to be of paramount importance for MSMEs looking to expand their businesses. Keywords: MSMEs; Digital Marketing; Covid-19; UTAUT Theory; Logistic Regression

Abstract

Perdagangan merupakan sektor utama yang mendukung pendapatan Kota Salatiga. Akan tetapi penggunaan teknologi digital dalam usaha pelaku usaha masih rendah. Untuk itu dilakukan kegiatan edukasi keuangan digital dan pengelolaan keuangan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan keuangan UMKM. Sebelum edukasi, dilakukan identifikasi tingkat literasi keuangan, keuangan digital dan kesejahteraan keuangan. Berdasarkan 57 peserta dari total 67 peserta yang datang, diketahui bahwa literasi keuangan masih tergolong sedang dan perlu ditingkatkan. Sementara literasi keuangan digital dan kesejahteraan keuangan masih sangat rendah dan perlu dilakukan pendampingan lebih lanjut.
