Abstract

About 58,83 percent of Salatiga population consumes water from PDAM (Peru- sahaan Daerah Air Minum) to fulfill their daily need. The demand for water, which is increasing in line with infrastructure development and economics growth in Salatiga while the availability of water is decreasing, lead to a lack of water in some regions in Salatiga. Therefore, a new policy is needed to solve this problem. Before that, a simulation of the policy is needed because it is not possible to do a direct research on the policy. Thus, this recent study attempts to model the phenomenon of demand for water in Salatiga with dynamics system approach since it can be used for a policy simulation. Based on the simulation result, it is suggested to solve the water scarcity problem by trying to reduce the rate of leaking in water distribution from 26 percent to 5 percent.

Abstract

Abstract

Since 2017 Central Java has a high Human Development Index (HDI); its rank in 2019 is still the same as in 2010. The study investigates regional minimum wage and inflation facts in Central Java and how the HDI estimation model's constants differ differregency/city in different regions of Central Java. The study utilizes the Fixed Effect Model built using panel data for 2010-2019. It employs the Least Square Dummy Variable Model to get the difference constant for each regency and city in Central Java. The FEM model implies that the effects of RMW and inflation are the same for all regencies/cities, caused by the same cultural background. The results of this study show that RMW and inflation have significant positive effects on HDI and that cities tend to have higher constants compared to regencies

Abstract

Abstract

Coffee has a pretty good prospect in Indonesia with quite large production. However, Indonesian coffee trade still faces many obstacles. One of them, coffee is less competitive with coffee from other countries in United States which is Indonesia's main export destination. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors affecting the volume of coffee exports to United States in 1985-2018. This study uses secondary time series data collected from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the World Bank and the Ministry of Agriculture as well as a multiple regression model with the least squares method. The results show that the real GDP per capita of the United States, the real effective exchange rate of the United States, Indonesian inflation, world coffee prices, world tea prices and United States populations have an effect on Indonesian coffee exports demand. Individually, inflation in Indonesia, world tea prices and United States populations have significant positive effect while the real effective exchange rate of the United States have significant negative effect on Indonesian coffee exports demand from United States, but the real GDP per capita of the United States and world coffee prices have no effect on Indonesian coffee exports demand from United States.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effect of applying digital economy in the framework for improving MSMEs’ strength and resilience in Salatiga City before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This research used 134 samples representing all small and medium enterprises in Salatiga City. The data focused in this research related to the application of the digital economy by business actors in Salatiga City. The analytical techniques of this research included descriptive statistics and a multiple linear regression model estimated by ordinary least squares (OLS). The result of this research indicated that the application of the digital economy in the framework for improving MSMEs’ strength and resilience amidst the COVID-19 pandemic was not proven in this study. The variables of the digital economy and total length of business did not significantly affect the turnover of the MSME actors in Salatiga City. Meanwhile, the labor variable proved to have a positive and significant effect on the turnover of the MSME actors in Salatiga City. However, the service business sector has been shown to negatively and significantly impact the turnover of MSME actors. MSMEs engaged in the service business sector tended to have lower turnover than MSMEs engaged in the trade business sector.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country with a relatively stable economy, as can be seen in Indonesia’s real GDP per capita, which tends to increase before the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there is a disparity in economic growth between Java and outside Java. During the 2010-2020 period, Java’s economic growth reached 61.9%, while outside Java was only 48.5%. According to the Solow Model theory, three factors can influence economic growth: capital, labor, and technology. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of capital, labor, and technology on economic growth in Java. This research was conducted using two approaches, namely generalized least square (GLS) and mixed-effect regression model (MEM). Both methods show the same result that capital and labor have a significant positive effect on the real GRDP of the provinces in Java. In contrast, technology has an insignificant effect on the real GRDP of the provinces in Java. This study also found significant random effects among provinces in Java for the number of workers and capital, but not on technology.
