Abstract

AbstrakStudi ini mengkaji tentang upaya kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guruSD Negeri di Kecamatan Lingsar Kabupaten Lombok Barat, difokuskan pada tugas kepalasekolah sebagai leader, inovator, dan motivator. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatankualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studidokumentasi. Informan penelitian adalah kepala sekolah dan guru. Hasil penelitianmenemukan: (1) Dilihat dari tugas kepala sekolah sebagai leader, bahwa upaya kepalasekolah meliputi: pemberdayaan dan pembinaan melalui kegiatan diskusi, workshop, KKG,supervisi, dan Evaluasi Diri Guru (EDG), dengan menunjukkan sikap keteladanan,keterbukaan, kedisiplinan, dan komunikatif di antara kepala sekolah dengan semua wargasekolah. (2) Dilihat dari tugas kepala sekolah sebagai inovator, bahwa upaya yang dilakukanoleh kepala sekolah adalah melakukan perumusan program-program yang sesuai dengansituasi dan tuntutan sekolah, seperti mengembangkan program sekolah sehat, bersih, indah,dan menyenangkan, serta menyusun program pembinaan melalui kegiatan pertemuan antarguru mata pelajaran pada setiap gugus. (3) Dilihat dari tugas kepala sekolah sebagaimotivator, upaya yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah adalah memelihara semangat kerjaguru dengan mendorong untuk melakukan studi lanjut, memberikan reward danpunishment. Reward diberikan kepada guru yang dianggap memiliki prestasi dalam bentukhadiah dan pujian. Sementara punishment diberikan kepada guru yang dianggap melanggaraturan dan tata tertib di sekolah serta tidak mampu menjalankan tugasnya dengan baik.Kata-kata Kunci: Upaya Kepala Sekolah, Profesionalisme Guru.Abstract: This study examines the efforts of principals in improving the professionalism ofteachers Elementary School in District Lingsar West Lombok regency, focused on the task ofthe principal as a leader, innovator and motivator. This study used a qualitative approach.Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Theinformants are principals and teachers. The study found: (1) In terms of duty of the principalas leader, that efforts principals include: empowerment and guidance through discussions,workshops, KKG, supervision and Self-Evaluation of Teachers (EDG), by showing the attitudeexemplary, openness, discipline, and communicative among principals with all the citizens ofthe school. (2) In terms of duty of the principal as an innovator, that the efforts made by theprincipal is the formulation of programs according to the situation and the demands ofschool, such as developing the school program healthy, clean, beautiful, and fun, as well ascomposing coaching program through meetings between teachers of subjects in each group.(3) In terms of the principal duties as a motivator, the efforts made by the head of the schoolis to maintain morale by encouraging teachers to conduct further studies, reward andpunishment. Reward given to teachers who are considered to have achievements in theform of gifts and compliments. While the punishment given to teachers deemed in violationof rules and regulations in school and not able to function properly.Keywords: Efforts Principal, Teacher Professionalism

Abstract

The research in this dissertation is motivated by the phenomenon of the development of quality educational institutions that have a good process to create high student achievement, design a good curriculum taught by qualified teachers and good products as evidenced by the students being able to compete with superior schools. inside and outside the city so that, with a good process, Madrasa are no longer underestimated and even become the community's main choice of superior schools. The research approach uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques are participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are 1) single case data analysis, 2) cross-site analysis. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that: ( 1) The formulation of the madrasa principal's strategy in developing students' talents and interests at MTsN 3 Nganjuk and MTsN 2 Kediri City is carried out by : formulating the vision and mission of the madrasa, determining the goals of planning for the development of student talents and interests that have been carried out by the madrasa, mapping talents and interests based on abilities and fields of study . Recruitment of basic education students with implementation of strict selection assessment taking into account several assessments, namely the recruitment of the academic path through with report cards and Olympics. Non-academic selection recruitment is seen from the results of students' memorization of the Koran, sports, arts and so on . (2) The implementation of the madrasa principal's strategy in developing students' talents and interests at MTsN 3 Nganjuk and MTsN 2 Kediri City is carried out by: 1) Programs of extracurricular activities provided for all students according to their potential, interests, talents, and abilities, so that students can develop maximally. 2) Supporting activities through routine and spontaneous activities that are carried out optimally can develop students' talents and interests.
