Abstract

Phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity test using DPPH method of Kluwih seed (Artocarpus camansi Blanco) have been done. Maceration of Kluwih seed was carried out using methanol. The phytochemical test showed A. camansi contains secondary metabolites including alkaloids, phenolics, flavonoids and steroids. Based on the result of the antioxidant test using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method, the result exhibited that the crude extract had an IC50 value of 63.63 ppm.

Abstract

Research on modification of Ca-Alginate microcapsules with Ethylene Diamin Tetra Acetate (EDTA) and Utilization in stages pre concentration column Ion Pb based method has been done. Pre concentration method Pb metal ions is done by using the column or Off-Line method, the water sample is inserted into the column, in the elution using 1.5 M HCl, then eluat were collected and measured using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The optimum conditions in resin manufacture Ca-Alginate-EDTA is on the composition of CaCl2 1 M Na-alginate 1%, and 0.75% EDTA. The optimum conditions analytical performance of this resin microcapsules with the absorption of Pb most best at pH 8, retention capacity of 0.6546 mg / g resin, 1.5 M HCl eluent The concentration by volume Pb is 8 mL and 3 mL HCl eluen volume, analytical performance of this method good enough for Pb ion analysis is shown of the measurement value detection limit of 0.0469 mg / L level to able replicates expressed as a percentage coefficient of variance for 1:20%. this method can be applied to the analysis of metal ions Fe in water samples from the environment to the value of recoveries of> 95%, using techniques spike indicates that the sample matrix derived from Karang Mumus River and Well Water does not affect the measurement results and can be used by analysis of Pb in the sample water at trace levels. Abstract

Uncaria is a plant genus that is distributed mainly in tropical and subtropical areas. About 38 Uncaria species grow in the Asia Pacific region. Based on a literature study, it was found that five Uncaria species in the tropical rain forests of East Kalimantan. Several species of Uncaria have long been known and used in traditional medicine such as treating asthma, cancer, diabetes, rheumatism, neurodegenerative diseases, mouth sores, diarrhea and dysentery, sore throat, and gums. The content of secondary metabolites includes flavonoids, polyphenols, terpenoids, alkaloids, iridoids, and coumarin.

Abstract

The extraction avocado seed (Persea americana Mill) is done by soxhletation method using ethanol 96%. Results soxhletation 146.01 grams powder of avocado seeds obtained 85.76 grams of ethanol extract. Ethanol extracts of avocado seeds concentrated using a rotary evaporator obtained 43.38 grams. Phytochemical results showed that the ethanol extract of avocado seeds contains of compound flavanoid, tannins and anthocyanin. Stability test of the color substance ethanol extracts of  avocado seeds conducted on the influence of 40 oC, 50 oC, 60 oC, 70 oC and 80oC, the influence of pH 3, 4, 5 and 6 and the influence of prolonged storage of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 days at a wavelength of 200 to 400 nm. Observation data were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan test.Keywords: Phytochemicals and color substance stability.

Abstract

Magnetite is widely used in various fields of separation, biochemistry, medical and environment. Modification of nanoparticle magnetite binding with chitosan is recommended for many biomedical applications, especially as a drug delivery system because in addition to its non-toxic, biodegradable and biocompatible characteristics. Another advantage of biomedical benefits as antimicrobial is that it can increase antibacterial activity and has a more pronounced effect on gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Synthesis and characterization of chitosan-magnetite cross-linked tripolyphosphate as an antibacterial of S. typhi (Gram negative) and S. aureus (Gram positive) has been carried out. The phase of this research was initiated by the synthesis of FeSO4.7H2O and FeCl3.6H2O magnetite with a mass ratio of Fe (II): Fe (III) = 2: 3, using the co-precipitation method. In the second stage where the cross-linking of chitosan with TPP cross-linker to form ferrogel. In the third stage the synthesis of TPP-chitosan-magnetite in a ratio of 1: 4, with a slight addition of NH4OH as participant material. The results showed that FT-IR on TPP-chitosan-magnetite has a unique spectrum, XRD results showed the crystal structure of TPP-chitosan-magnetite did not change. Surface morphology shows that TPP-chitosan-magnetite is a spherical surface. Chitosan-Magnetite material has greater antibacterial activity than chitosan and magnetite bacteria S. typhi (Gram negative) and S. aureus (Gram positive).

Abstract

Trigona Incisa honey is flower nectar and pollen are known to have properties that are very good for health used as ingredients or cosmetic. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites and determination of antioxidant activity of honey Trigona incisa which is a natural product that is found. Do fractionation using ethanol, n-hexane and ethyl acetate determination of the content of secondary metabolites was conducted using harbone and antioxidant activity was determined by testing against DPPH free radicals by measuring the absorbance of DPPH (diphenyl -1- using 2,2- picrylhidrazyl) at a wavelength of 517 nm. Phytochemical test results to the fraction of ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane of Honey Trigona incisa. Showed that the alkaloid compounds, Triterpenoid and Flavonoids present in fractions of ethanol and ethyl acetate fraction. Alkaloid contained in n-hexane fraction. The results showed the ethanol and ethyl acetate fractions thought to contain flavonoid, while the antioxidant activity of the ethyl acetate fraction larger than the fraction of n-hexane and ethanol role in this case amounted to 97.00 ppm, 249 ppm and 233.85 ppm. This shows that the ethyl acetate fraction contains more antioxidant components.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang penurunan kadar sianida dengan penambahan Ca(OH)2 pada umbi gadung (Dioscorea hispida) telah dilakukan. Percobaan ini dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan data penurunan kadar sianida pada umbi gadung dengan cara penambahan Ca(OH)2, memvariasikan pH (keasaman) air rebusan dan lama rendaman umbi gadung. Hasil data ditentukan persentase penurunan kadar sianida pada umbi gadung menunjukkan bahwa perebusan dengan penambahan Ca(OH)2 10 % dan pH 12 diperoleh penurunan kadar sianida pada umbi gadung 18,2533 mg/L. Sianida yang tertinggal pada umbi gadung 5,6967 mg/L dan persentase penurunan 76,21 %. Lama waktu rendaman selama 60 jam diperoleh penurunan kadar sianida 23,1303 mg/L. Sianida yang tertinggal pada umbi gadung 0,8197 mg/L dan persentase penurunan 96,58 %. Kata Kunci : Umbi Gadung, Sianida, Ca(OH)2, Persentase Penurunan

Abstract

The avocado skin fruit (Persea americana Mill) is one of species of Lauraceae family that had many benefits and efficiacy for human. Avocado is a woody plant, the life cycle can reach decades and were known to have potential as pigmen. The purpose of this study is to extract and determine the stability of pigmen from avocado skin fruit (Persea americana Mill) with UV-Vis Specroscopy methode. The extraction was done with soxhlet method using ethanol. The result of soxhlet was 142,13 gr avocado skin fruit dried powder was gained 88,85 gr ethanol extract. The ethanol extract of avocado skin dried powder was concentrated using rotary avoporator was gained 47,93 gr. The result phytochemical study, shown that ethanol coarse contained of Tannin compound, flavonoids and antosianin. The study stability of pigmen from avocado skin fruit (Persea americana Mill) extract was done to temperature effect were 40oC, 50oC, 60oC, 70oC and 80oC, pH effect were 3, 4, 5 and 6 and long storage effect were 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 days at wave length 200-400 nm. Abstract

Research on the decline in BOD and TSS from waste chili sauce with electrocoagulation method using electrodes Fe, Cu and stainless stell in decreased amount of BOD and TSS. Conducted to determine the optimum point of each parameter based on the reaction of the electrocoagulation process on waste samples of chili sauce by using a variation of time and variation of voltage. The results obtained show that the effect of time is obtained optimum time of 120 minutes with vigorous optimum voltage of 12 volts to the decreased amount of BOD and TSS, respectively for 10.7577 mg/L and 18 mg/L with the results of successive allowance for 99.17% and 98.36% for electrode Fe and stainless stell. And decreased amount of BOD and TSS respectively for 8.2482 mg/L and 296 mg/L with the preliminary results of a row of 99.36% and 73.09% for the electrode Fe and Cu. With initial values of BOD and TSS each of 1301.4010 mg/L and 1100 mg/L.

Abstract

Heat exchanger tipe plate-frame adalah satu di antara berbagai jenis heat exchanger yang digunakan dalam proses pertukaran panas dalam industri. Kajian ini berfokus pada penerapan heat exchanger tipe plate-frame dan efisiensinya dalam proses pertukaran panas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan plate frame heat exchanger dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi proses pertukaran panas. Desain plate frame heat exchanger memungkinkan aliran fluida yang efisien dan efektif, menghasilkan pertukaran panas yang optimal. Selain desainnya yang efisien, plate frame heat exchanger juga memiliki luas permukaan yang besar yang memungkinkan perpindahan panas yang optimal antara dua fluida yang berbeda. Plate frame heat exchanger dapat digunakan di berbagai industri. Dalam kajian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan plate frame heat exchanger memberikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi industri. Plate frame heat exchanger dapat mengurangi biaya operasional, memperpanjang umur peralatan, dan meningkatkan efisiensi dalam proses pertukaran panas. Dengan demikian, plate frame heat exchanger dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif untuk industri yang ingin memenuhi kebutuhan pertukaran panas mereka secara efektif dan efisien.
