Abstract

The limited proficiency in deaf students led to difficulty communicating for deaf students that impact on low mathematics achievement. The ability to learn math that requires abstract thinking skills through information received has not been able to be fully achieved, due to limitations in hearing received by the students. This research was conducted as a quasi-experimental. Nine of deaf students at SMPLB Negeri Saronggi aged between 15-18 years who have low math achievement that performed a pre-test with daily test, these students who later became the subject of research. They were given intervention Snowball Throwing learning method for 3 sessions. The learning method is applied for ± 3 hours. 2 weeks after intervention, conducted interviews and post-intervention measurements using daily tests of mathematics. Based on results of hypothesis testing with Wilcoxon analysis obtained value asymp sig = 0 008 <α = 0. 05, that was Ho rejected, which means there is the effect of intervention by snowball throwing learning method significantly to improve mathematics achievement in deaf students before and after treatment. This research proves that the intervention snowball throwing learning methods is considered successful in improving learning achievement with high academic self-efficacy in deaf students of SMPLB Negeri Saronggi. The teacher also said that he obtained new information on new methods of learning and skills in teaching and learning mathematics.

Abstract

This research aims to know the correlation of the scout activities to the discipline character of the student of SMA Raudlatul Ulum Kapedi. The kind that is used in this research is quantitative method, it is the research method that empliasizes objective measurement, numerical and the statistical analysis, so that it gives the description about the independent variable of the disciplinary character. Based on the research result at SMA Raudlatul Ulum Kapedi, it gets the result as follows, the variable of the scout activities (X) is gotten the calculated value amoun that 8,833 > t-table of 2,093. Than (8,833 > 2,093) than it is declared rejected, it means that there is the positive correlation the independent variable (scut activities) to the dependent variable (the descipline) is amounted to 81,3%. 1% addition to the value of the ability of the scout activities. So, the value of the participation increases by 1,069. So that it can be concluded that there is the correlation of the scout activities to the discipline character of the student.

Abstract

Keterbatasan kecakapan berbahasa mengakibatkan adanya kesulitan berkomunikasi bagi siswa-siswa tunarungu ini yang kemudian berimbas pada perasaan kurang percaya diri. Selain adanya kesulitan berkomunikasi, keterbatasan berbahasa, sikap masyarakat, dan kegagalannya dalam banyak hal menyebabkan emosi anak turarungu tidak stabil. Umumnya mereka selalu ragu-ragu dan segala perilakunya senantiasa disertai perasaan cemas. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif eksperimen dengan metode one group pre test – post test. Sembilan siswa tunarungu SMPLB Negeri Saronggi berusia antara 15-18 tahun yang memiliki kepercayaan diri yang rendah yang sebelumnya diberikan pre-test dengan skala kepercyaaan diri, para siswa ini yang kemudian menjadi subyek penelitian. Kepada mereka diberikan intervensi berupa pelatihan berpikir positif untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri mereka. Setelah diberikan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, maka diberikan skala kepercayaan diri sebagai sebagai instrument post-test. Setelah dilakukan intervensi yang berupa pelatihan dan telah dilakukan pre-test dan post-test maka dilakukan analisis data dengan menggunakan uji T. Uji T dilakukan untuk melihat efektif tidaknya intervensi yang diberikan pada subjek penelitian. Hasil uji T menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor kepercayaan diri sebelum dilaksanakan pelatihan dan sesudah dilaksanakan pelatihan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari harga t = -1,904 pada p= 0,000 (p<0,01), dan hasil tersebut juga menggambarkan adanya peningkatan skor mean kemandirian setelah pelatihan yaitu sebesar 31,5556 dari skor mean sebelum pelatihan 26,4444. Dengan demikian dapat dipastikan bahwa pemberian pelatihan berfikir positif pada siswa tunarungu efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayan diri. Kata kunci: Siswa Tunarungu, Kepercayaan Diri, Pelatihan Berfikir Positif.
