Abstract

Environmental problems and management efforts are increasingly complex covering various aspects, while human understanding of the environment is still limited. Limited supporting infrastructure and the availability of reliable human resources (HR) are the main factors that need attention. The academic community has great potential in building an integrated, comprehensive and sustainable environmental management. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a concept that can unite all elements in an environmental management system. From this system, it is hoped that it can build awareness about the importance of environmental management. This research takes the type of field research (field research), namely the type of research carried out in a place, namely research conducted in real life. Regarding the data source in this study, the opinions of the campus users are in preserving and protecting the campus environment. The results of the research are efforts to strengthen the participation of campus residents to develop their awareness of environmental preservation towards sustainable development based on the Green Campus concept. Forms of participation of campus residents in environmental preservation are through routine activities in the form of independent, integrated and mutual cooperation as a form of empowerment. In realizing a green, clean, orderly, neat, beautiful and comfortable campus; involving campus residents can participate in accordance with their respective main duties. This reflects the awareness of campus residents in environmental preservation based on the green campus concept of sustainable development.

Abstract

The issue of education financing in Indonesia, particularly in Islamic educational institutions, remains a challenge even though the national education budget has reached 20%. High operational costs, uneven budget distribution, and limited resources are obstacles to improving the quality of education and empowering the Islamic community. In this case, productive waqf presents itself as a sharia economic instrument that has the potential to support sustainable education financing and community development. This study aims to analyze the management strategy of productive waqf in empowering the Islamic community at the Lampung Al-Qur'an Center (LAC) and review it from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh muamalah) and waqf management. The study used a field method with a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observation, and documentation. The theories used are George R. Terry's management theory and Jim Ife's community empowerment theory. The results show that the productive waqf management strategy at LAC is carried out through waqf fund collection, management of Al-Qur'an education, socio-religious development, and community empowerment programs based on Islamic education. This management contributes to improving the quality of education, strengthening Islamic values, and social and economic empowerment of the community. From a muamalah jurisprudence perspective, the practice of productive waqf in LAC has a strong sharia basis because it is oriented towards the welfare of the community and the sustainability of the waqf's benefits. Thus, productive waqf in LAC can be an alternative for financing Islamic education and sustainable community empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management and function of mosques as centers of civilization and empowerment of Muslims in Tanjung Seneng District, Bandar Lampung City. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through observation, interviews with the Head of the Religious Affairs Office, village heads, mosque administrators, congregations, community leaders, and religious leaders, as well as documentation. All data were then analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the success of mosque empowerment is highly dependent on the role of the mosque administrators in managing and developing religious activities. Da'wah activities in mosques are generally carried out thanks to the dedication, sincerity, and enthusiasm of the mosque administrators who voluntarily devote their time, energy, and thoughts to prospering the mosque while improving the religious quality of the congregation. The implementation of mosque functions is still dominated by worship activities, such as obligatory and sunnah prayers, regular religious studies, commemoration of Islamic holidays, management of zakat fitrah, and organizing the sacrifice. Organizational management is still carried out simply with planning that has not been systematically arranged. Social activities are also still limited to food sharing programs through Friday Blessings, distribution of takjil, and breaking the fast and sahur together during Ramadan. Furthermore, the development of Islamic outreach through the Youth of the Mosque (RISMA) has not been optimal due to limited management resources and a limited understanding of the organization's duties and functions.
