Abstract

Abstract: JIIPE International port construction in Manyarejo village, Manyar District is possible to have an impact on the residents' economy. Based on this, this study aims to determine the impact of development on the socio-economic conditions of the community. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The research population is pond farmers, pond farmer laborers in Manyarejo village. The number of samples is 50 respondents consisting of 25 respondents who own pond land and and 25 respondents are pond farmers workers. Data were taken through questionnaires and interviews. Descriptive analysis was carried out on data on age, education, number of family dependents, livelihood, income, expenditure and productivity of pond land. The results showed that 1) The social conditions of the Manyarejo village community, especially shrimp, milkfish, and salt farmers changed by 44% become small traders, entrepreneurs, fishermen and employees, and 64% remain as pond farmers. 2) Community income from the aquaculture sector has decreased by 13% because agricultural land has been acquired and crop productivity decreased by 61%. Monthly income increased by 38% due to new livelihoods. Keywords: Port Development, Transfer of Land Functions, Social and Economic Conditions

Abstract

The location of settlements is one of the important aspects in the arrangement of a space. The proper arrangement of residential areas can increase the development of a space to be more structured and progressive. However, on the contrary, if the arrangement of residential areas is not planned properly, it can have a negative impact in the form of unstructured development. Spatial planning has an important role in maximizing the potential possessed by each region. One of the areas that has potential that deserves to be developed is Jombang Regency with qualified trade sector opportunities. So it is very important to conduct a land suitability study, especially in the context of research. This research was conducted through a quantitative descriptive method with primary sources obtained from satellite imagery data, which was then processed and analyzed using the help of the QGIS platform through overlay methods and secondary data in the form of previous research results or similar documents that have credibility. The results of the analysis in this study show that an area of 1.78 km2 or 19.2 percent of the area of Jombang Regency, is in a very inappropriate classification if used as a settlement. Meanwhile, as many as 27.84 percent or an area of 29.89 km2 are in the inappropriate category, and 70.38 percent of other areas or an area of 756.1 km2 are in the appropriate classification if used as residential areas.

Abstract

Filtration is a very important process because naturally karst landscapes do not provide good protection against groundwater. This study aims to determine the effect of filtration with sand, biocarbon, and zeolite materials on the pH, EC and TDS values. The research was conducted using an experimental method using three filtration tubes filled with these three materials. Samples were taken from ten different water sources. The results of the analysis show that the filtration process of a combination of sand, biocarbon, and zeolite materials has the effect of increasing the pH value, and decreasing the EC and TDS values. The filtration process through a combination of volcanic sand, biocarbon and zeolith materials simultaneously gives a more significant change in pH, EC, and TDS values compared to filtration with these materials separately.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the spectral imagery of Landsat 8 OLI  that can determine the level of tropical karst desertification Maros Pangkep South Sulawesi. The study method is based on the characteristics of spectral imagery of Landsat 8 OLI. Spectral characteristic analysis was conducted based on derivative index values of Landsat 8 OLI of single-channel spectral values, index spectral values, maximum values, mean, minimal index, and spatial analysis. The results showed that spectral imagery of Landsat 8 OLI can be used as the identifier of the desertification process, that is in band 5 whose maximum value is indicated by the spectral value of vegetation. The karst desertification level in the study area showed that 0.3% of the regions were strongly desertified or 0,97 km2 , 4.1% of medium desertified or 12,03  km2, 16.7% were mildly desertified or 49,17 km2, and 78.9% were not desertified or 232,57 km2. Observation results for image accuracy shows that strongly desertified areas of land use are mining and cement industries, the medium desertified areas are utilized for marble mining, the mildly desertified areas are utilized for agricultural land, and not desertified areas land are being utilized for tropical rain forest is still dense.
