Abstract

Dalam siklus kelautan, pelabuhan merupakan suatu sarana yang disiapkan oleh pihak tertentu, salah satunya adalah PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) Terminal Peti Kemas Bitung untuk menunjang kelancaran aktivitas kegiatan kepelabuhanan yang erat kaitannya dengan operasional bongkar muat di terminal peti kemas sampai terjadinya kegiatan embarkasi dan debarkasi penumpang, serta kegiatan-kegiatan kepelabuhanan lainnya. Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk menganalisis operasional bongkar muat pada PT. Pelabuhan indonesia IV (persero) Terminal Peti Kemas Bitung. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis matriks diagram, matriks ini digunakan untuk menunjukkan keterkaitan antara variabel kinerja operasional dan faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam proses bongkar muat sehingga metode ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan optimalisasi kinerja operasional di PT. PELINDO IV Terminal Petikemas Bitung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa di PT. PELINDO IV pada Terminal Peti Kemas Bitung sudah sesuai dalam hal operasional bongkar dan Terminal Peti Kemas Bitung juga selalu menyediakan fasilitas yang betul-betul memadai sehingga pihak pemakai jasa merasakan suatu pelayanan yang tertib dan efisien terutama penekanan biaya-biaya pelabuhan dan penghindaran dari risiko yang bisa terjadi di saat pelayanan jasa pelabuhan. Disamping itu, PT. PELINDO IV Terminal Peti Kemas Bitung selalu berupaya memberikan pelayanan yang terbaik sehingga para pengguna jasa pelabuhan dapat melaksanakan kegiatan tepat waktu.

Abstract

Hydraulic valve failure on a tanker can significantly impact operational performance and shipping safety. This study aims to analyze the causes, impacts, and solutions to hydraulic valve failure on the MT. Beyond. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was performed using the Fishbone Diagram method to identify root causes and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to evaluate the level of failure risk based on severity, occurrence, and detection parameters. The results showed that hydraulic valve failure was influenced by human, machine, material, method, and environmental factors, with the dominant causes being operational errors, low component quality, fluid contamination, and lack of maintenance. The FMEA analysis showed that the key components with high risk were the disc and seat, which had the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) values of 162 and 132, respectively. Failure of these components can cause uncontrolled flow, potentially reducing overall system performance due to corrosion, leakage, and wear,thus becoming the main priority for repair. The conclusion of this study confirms that improving component quality, regular maintenance, operator training, and implementing an effective monitoring system can reduce the risk of failure and increase the reliability of the ship's hydraulic system.

Abstract

Background: Occupational safety and health is a critically important aspect of container loading and discharging operations at ports, encompassing efforts to create a safe, healthy work environment and prevent workplace accidents and work-related diseases. Objective: This study aims to analyze the application of occupational safety and health in the process of loading and discharging containers at PT. Kaltim Kariangau Terminal. Methods: This study uses the HIRADC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control) method. Results: The results of the risk level assessment before control indicate a High Risk level of 9 risks (23.1%), a Moderate Risk level of 17 risks (43.6%), and a Low Risk level of 13 risks (33.3%). After control, the High Risk level is reduced to 0 risks (0%), with no remaining high-risk work activities; the Moderate Risk level is 8 risks (20.6%); and the Low Risk level is 31 risks (79.4%). To address these hazards and risks, PT. Kaltim Kariangau Terminal has implemented risk controls, namely substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that systematic hazard identification and hierarchical risk control, when applied rigorously to RTG crane operations in container terminals, can deliver measurable reductions in worker exposure to life-threatening risks and provide a replicable OSH management model for the Indonesian port sector.

Abstract

Background: As the world's largest archipelagic nation, Indonesia faces the major challenge of providing an equal distribution of public services to 3 not so close and remote frontier region, border (3T) regions. An example: While the government's Sea Toll Program uses pioneer vessels such as KMP Bambit to breach these chasms, efficiency of operation is still a major barrier to progress. This often results in underused capacity Objective: This study aims to analyze the load factor of KMP Bambit on the Merauke-Atsy-Agats-Senggo route and identify strategic recommendations to improve ship capacity utilization and service quality And see if there is a reasonable load factor on KMP Bambit operating from the Merauke-Atsy-Agats-Senggo route. Depending on this finding, strategic advice is put forward with regard to vessel capacity utilisation and service quality. Method: This investigation used quantitative research. Throughout the research period from January 2022 to June 2025, data were collected on operational ship activities and survey results were sought from 65 stakeholders according to the Slovin Formula. The data were analyzed using Load Factor Analysis (LF A) and a SWOT analysis was performed to map internal and external strategic factors. Results: Our findings show that the average load factor for passengers is 42.427% and the cargo/vehicle load factor is 45.141%, both significantly below the Ministry of Transportation's 70% efficiency target. Problems include inconsistent sailing frequencies, limited port infrastructure, and changing seasonal demand levels. Conclusion: Being in Quadrant I of SWOT Matrix, KMP Bambit needs to take a growth-oriented strategy. Major recommendations are to modernize ship facilities, implement an online reservation system, and adjust sailing schedules in line with community needs in order to bring sustainable economic growth south to the remote regions of South Papua it serves.
