Abstract

Sea cucumbers are phytoplankton and zooplankton (natural food) eating organisms. Availability or concentration of feed plays an important role in the growth and survival of larvae. Three types of plankton used in this study are diatom species, namely Nanocloropsys sp, Isochrysis sp and pavlopa sp which have high nutritional content and are commonly cultivated. This research was conducted to find the right and optimal type of feed in increasing the production of survival rate and growth rate of larvae of sea cucumbers (Holothuria scabra) so that the cultivation of sea cucumbers can succeed. This research was conducted in the village of Teluk Santong, Plampang District, Sumbawa Regency. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 replications and 4 treatments placed at random. The results showed that the highest growth rate and survival rate of sea cucumber larvae was obtained from the treatment of Isochrysis sp. The value of the growth rate of sea cucumber larvae was 62.7 µm and the survival value was 93.33%, while the lowest growth and survival rate was in the control treatment with a growth rate value of 49.4 µm and a survival rate of 9.33%,

Abstract

Coastal District of Alas Barat has mangrove forest resources that have been degraded to environmental pressures due to human activities that is the conversion of land into pond areas. Mangrove ecosystems is an important role for marine and coastal ecology, which is the habitat of mangrove crabs (Scylla sp). Mangrove crab is a high commercial value fishery commodity. This study aims to determine the abundance of mangrove crabs (Scylla sp) in the mangrove forest area of ??Alas Barat District. The method used in this research is descriptive method with survey techniques. The research area is divided into 3 stations. The mangrove crab found was a type of Scylla serrata and Scylla paramamosain. The highest abundance of mangrove crabs was found at Station 1 (Gontar Baru) at 54.55%, followed by Station 2 (Karang Padak) at 23.23% and the lowest at Station 3 (Labuh Mapin) at 22.22%. The highest abundance at Station 1 type Scylla serrata is 11.66 ind / 100m² and the lowest at station 3 is 1.66 ind / 100m² while for Scylla paramamosain type, the highest abundance is at station 1 at 6.33 ind / 100m² and the lowest at station 2 as much as 5 ind / 100m².

Abstract

The sandy beach where turtles lay their eggs is a natural incubator and has a suitable environment for the development of turtle embryos. Microclimate suitable for incubation of turtle eggs arises from interactions between physical characters, beach compilers, the local environment and eggs in the nest. One of the locations where sea turtles land and lay eggs in West Nusa Tenggara Province is on the beach of Lunyuk, Sumbawa Regency. Receiving sea turtles is a protected endangered species, it is necessary to carry out conservation activities to protect and save sea turtles. To support efforts to support, it is necessary to support locations where turtles lay their eggs. Like discussing research on landing sites and turtle nesting sites. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of suitability of habitat characteristics for turtle nesting in the Lunyuk beach area. The research method uses the survey method. Survey activities include field observations and collecting primary data. Data analysis was performed using the weighting and scoring method. Based on observations it can be seen, the slope of the beach which is the location of spawning is 6.54 - 11.1%, substrate temperature 27 ° C - 32 ° C, humidity substrate 25% - 40%. While the percentage of vegetation is 40% - 57.1%. From the station visit, stations 1 and 2 are quite suitable, while stations 3, 4 and 5 are categorized according to the location of turtle nesting.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the water parameters that support fresh fish cultivation in the Batu Bulan dam, Maman Village, Moyo Hulu District. The study used a survey method at three observation locations, inlet, center, and outlet of the dam on water quality, including temperature, brightness, substrate, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), turbidity, salinity, ammonia, Phosphate, and depth. The results showed that the inlet temperature ranges from 29,32oC, in the middle ranges from 29,91oC, and the outlet is 29.11oC. The average brightness at the inlet is 41.04 cm, the middle is 48.20 cm, and the outlet is 34.16 cm. The substrate at the inlet and in the middle is muddy while the outlet is sandy. The pH average in inlet is 6,33, in the middle is 6,58, and outlet 6,53.  Dissolved oxygen (DO) in the inlet range is 5.34 mg/l, in the middle is 5.51 mg/l, and in an outlet, it is 5.85 mg/l. Turbidity in the inlet range is 2,44 NTU, in the middle 2,67 NTU, and an outlet is 3,26 NTU. Salinity in all locations is 0 ppt. Ammonia in the inlet range is 1,01 mg/l, in the middle 0,69 mg/l and outlet is 1,1 mg/l. The average Phosphate at the inlet is one mg/l, in the middle and outlet is 0 mg/l. The status of the water eligibility for aquaculture is that the inlet and middle of the dam are suitable for cultivation, while those at the outlet are less feasible.
