Abstract

Hypertension is a common condition in primary health care with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality as blood pressure rises, which can lead to heart failure, stroke, and kidney failure. This condition is often referred to as the “silent killer” because it often shows no symptoms. In Indonesia, it is estimated that half of the people with hypertension are unaware of their condition. This study was conducted to determine the risk factors for hypertension at the West Bitung Health Center in 2023, using a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study involved 97 respondents and analyzed the relationship between alcohol consumption, smoking habits, physical activity, and obesity with hypertension. The results showed that there was no relationship between alcohol consumption and smoking with hypertension, but there was a relationship between physical activity and obesity with hypertension. These findings can serve as a basis for further research on public perceptions of obesity and motivation to achieve an ideal body weight to reduce the incidence of hypertension.

Abstract

Stress is a physical and emotional reaction of a person to environmental changes that require adjustment. Hypertension is a condition where there is an abnormal and persistent increase in blood pressure, caused by risk factors that do not function properly in maintaining normal blood pressure levels. This research aims to determine the relationship between stress levels and the incidence of hypertension in high-risk groups in the working area of the Kumelembuai Community Health Center. This research uses a cross-sectional design and was conducted in Paslaten Village, Minahasa Regency. The instrument used is the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales questionnaire. (DASS 42). Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The research results indicate that 44.2% of respondents experienced low stress, 55.8% experienced moderate stress, and no respondents experienced high stress. A total of 93% of respondents had stage I hypertension, while 7% had stage II hypertension. The chi-square test results showed a p-value of 0.044, which means there is a significant relationship between stress levels and the occurrence of hypertension in the high-risk hypertension group in the working area of the Kumelembuai Community Health Center.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition that is often found in primary health care. The high incidence of hypertension is influenced by various factors, one of which is the activity factor. Physical activity is able to show a reduction in the risk of death by 29% to 67% in patients who do high levels of physical activity, and as much as 12% to 35% in patients who do moderate levels, this reflects that there is a relationship between the level of physical activity and a decrease in the risk of death in hypertensive patients. Healthy heart gymnastics is one of the gymnastic methods arranged to always prioritize the ability of the heart, large muscle movements and joint flexibility, in order to optimally incorporate oxygen into the body so that the body's oxygen needs are met. The type of research used is observational research using quantitative research methods with a one group pretest-postest approach research design with a sample size of 42 respondents conducted on February 22 - March 22, 2023. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was an effect of healthy heart exercises on the blood pressure of hypertensive patients with prolanis members with a systolic p value = (0.000 <a = 0.05) and a diastolic p value = (0.000 <a = 0.05).
