Abstract

This study was to examine the process of desalination of coastal waters in South Kalimantan resulting in decreased quality of coastal habitat. Data input for research included time-series primary data of salinity values, derived from observation stations have been set. This research is based on grounded research methods to get the facts and comparison analysis through field observation and relevant data sources, including primary and secondary data, both qualitative and quantitative, as well as the approach to landscape approach using remote sensing data.The results showed that the phenomenon of coastal water desalination give effect to the fragility of coastal communities, especially mangroves, thus impacting derivatives of more vulnerability to degradation processes that occur on the coast of South Kalimantan. The research results can used as the basic of integrated coastal zone management.

Abstract

Decreasing area of coastal swamp ecosystem causing stress to aquatic biota whichliving in those habitat, and give impact to fishermen’s prosperity level. Study of coastal swamp’s condition really important, with aim as consideration to decide policies that needed to reach environmental balancing and sustainibility of exploitation. Study was done to both primary and secundary data, which include tabulative, graphical, qualitative and quantitative/statistics and computative, both description and inferential, and so spatial analysis for reach locally information of mangrove area’s degradation, and temporal information of comparation with secondary data. Condition of ecosystem of coastal swamp in Jorong subdistrict, which representated by condition of ecosystem of mangrove showing damaged to really damaged condition. Rate of decreasing of mangrove areas in Jorong subdistrict reach of 614,49 ha, or average rate of areas decreasing were 38,41 ha/year. Factors that caused damaged/degradation process of coastal swamp in Jorong subdistrict, Tanah Laut Regency dominated by wave activities and area’s converted.

Abstract

Kegiatan penambangan intan di Desa Pumpung Kecamatan Cempaka Kota Banjarbaru Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan merupakan kegiatan penambangan tradisional yang telah sejak lama dilakukan dan memberikan dampak negatif terjadinya perubahan pH perairan sekitar. Penggunaan kapur gamping merupakan upaya alternatif yang efektif dan efisien untuk memperbaiki kondisi perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengkaji faktor penyebab menurunnya kualitas pH pada air bekas galian penambangan intan di Cempaka, (2) mengkaji proses kapur gamping memulihkan pH air bekas galian penambangan intan di Cempaka, (3) dosis kapur gamping yang tepat diberikan agar peningkatan nilai pH air asam bekas pertambangan intan berada pada kisaran baku mutu. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei untuk memperoleh informasi faktual dan metode eksperimen dalam mencari pengaruh perlakuan tertentu terhadap pH air dalam kondisi yang terkendalikan.

Abstract

Waduk Riam Kanan merupakan danau buatan yang dibentuk dari pembendungan air sungai. Waduk Riam Kanan memiliki fungsi sebagai pemasuk kebutuhan air untuk keperluan domestik dan industri, sebagai pengendali banjir dan kekeringan, keperluan irigasi untuk kegiatan pertanian dan perikanan darat, dan yang terpenting adalah sebagai sumber pembangkit listrik tenaga air. Aktivitas manusia seperti kegiatan yang ada pada hulu Sungai Kalaan dan Sungai Tuyup yang bisa mempengaruhi waduk karena sungai tersebut merupakan inlet waduk, kemudian Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA), pemukiman, pariwisata, pertanian dan perkebunan apat mempengaruhi kualitas air waduk jika beban pencemar yang masuk dalam perairan melebihi kapasitas daya tampung waduk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui kondisi kualitas perairan waduk pada level yang berbeda dan kualitas perairan pada sampel yang dikompositkan dilihat dari parameter DO, pH, suhu, kecerahan, fosfat dan nitrat serta status kesuburan waduk pada sampel yang dikompositkan berdasarkan kada total P dan total N. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian menggunakan model Environmental Quality Index (EQI) dan status trofik menurut Permen LH nomer 28 tahun 2009. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada 5 statsiun secara purposive. Kondisi kualitas perairan Waduk Riam Kanan pada level yang berbeda berdasarka model EQI tergolong dalam kelas III dimana kisaran nilai KA 0,41 – 0,60 yaitutergolong sedang, berbeda dengan hasil sampel yang dikompositkan yang tergolong dalam kelas IV dimana kisaran nilai KA 0,61 – 0,80 yaitu tergolong baik. Status kesuburan perairan Waduk Riam Kanan adalah Oligotrofik. Riam Kanan reservoir in an artificial lake formed drom damming river water. Riam Kanan reservoir has a function as a supplier or water needs for domestic and industrial purpose, as flood control and drought, irrigation needs for agricultural and aquaculture activities, and most importantly as a source of hydroelectric power. Human activities such as activities in the upper waters of the Kalaan and Tuyup rivers that can affect the reservoirs because the river is a reservoir inlet, then floating net cages, settlement, tourim, agriculturure and plantation can affect water quality if the reservoir if pollutant loads water exceeds the capacity of reservoirs. This research was aimed to find out the water wuality condition of Riam Kanan reservoir at different level based and the quality of the waters in the compiled samples seen from the parameter of DO, pH, temperature, brightness, phosphate and nitrate and the trophical status of reservoirs in the compiled based on total P and total N. Data analyss used in this research is Environmental Quality Index (EQI) and trophic status accprding to regulation of environment minister number 28 year 2009. Sampling is done 5 stasions purposively. The water quality condition of Riam Kanan reservoir at different level based on EQI model belong to class III where the range value of water quality 0,41 – 0,60 id moderate, in contrast with result of composite sample which classified in clas IV where range of value water quality 0,61 – 0,80 is considered good. Trophical status Riam Kanan reservoir is Oligotrophic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi pengaruh musim Barat terhadap kualitas lingkungan perairan, aktivitas pariwisata terhadap limbah padat di kawasan pesisir Desa Batakan serta menganalisis kondisi kualitas lingkungan perairan untuk mengetahui status mutu air di sekitar wilayah Desa Batakan. Parameter yang diukur yaitu: total suspended solid (TSS), dissolved oxygen (DO), derajat keasaman (pH), chemical oxygen deman (COD), biological oxygen deman (BOD), dan salinitas. Data yang dihasilkan dari pengukuran disajikan dalam bentuk tabulasi dan diagram sehingga akan terlihat adanya perbedaan pada setiap lokasi sampling pengamatan. Analisis data menggunakan metode indeks pencemaran (IP) menurut KepMen LH nomor 115 tahun 2003. Hasil pengukuran kualitas air menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nilai status mutu air antara lokasi sampling 1, lokasi sampling 2, dan lokasi sampling 3. Dalam penggolongan tetap termasuk ke dalam kategori cemar sedang. Pengaruh musim barat menyebabkan perairan Desa Batakan masuk dalam kategori cemar sedang pada saat musim barat. This study aimed to identify the influence of westerly monsoon on the quality of aquatic environment, tourism activities on solid waste in the coastal area of ​​Batakan Village and to analyze the condition of the aquatic environment quality to determine the status of water quality in the vicinity of Batakan Village. The parameters measured were: total suspended solid (TSS), dissolved oxygen (DO), acidity (pH), chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), and salinity. The data generated from the measurements were presented in tabulation and diagrams so that the differences would be seen in each observational station. The data analysis used pollution index (IP) method according to Ministerial Decree of Environment Number 115 year 2003 and quality standard according to Presidential Decree Number 82 year 2001.The result of water quality measurement showed the difference of water quality status between sampling location 1, sampling location 2, and sampling location 3. In the constant classification, those were included in the category of lightly polluted. The influence of the westerly monsoon resulted in the waters of Batakan Village to be in the category of lightly polluted during the westerly monsoon.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan perairan kolam ikan di perkebunan kelapa sawit dan tingkat kesuburan perairan. Parameter yang diukur yaitu: suhu, kecerahan, oksigen terlarut (DO), derajat keasaman (pH), nitrat (NO3) dan posfat (PO4). Analisis data menggunakan metode Environment Quality Index (EQI) dan tingkat kesuburan perairan dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan acuan studi pustaka. Hasil kelayakan perairan kolam di lokasi penelitian dihitung menggunakan metode Environment Quality Index (EQI) menunjukan hasil baik pada A1 dan A2 minggu pertama disetiap stasiun sedangkan A3 sangat baik, minggu kedua setasiun A1 dan A3 menunjukan sangat baik dan stasiun kedua menunjukan baik. Pada minggu ketiga stasiun A1 dan A2 menunjukan baik sedangkan A3 sangat baik. Secara umum kondisi kualitas air pada setiap kolam sangat layak untuk kehidupan ikan budidaya (nila,papuyu dan patin). Berdasarkan tingkat kesuburan fosfat (PO4) dan nitrat (NO3) dari pengukuran di minggu pertama sampai minggu ketiga didapat rerata fosfat (PO4) (0,88mg/l, 0,18mg/l, 0,35mg/l) dan nitrat (NO3) (1,3mg/l. <0,1mg/l, <0,1mg/l) menunjukan katagori parairan yang masih di bawah nilai kesuburan perairan. Perairan kolam tersebut menunjukan katagori sangat layak untuk kegiatan budidaya dan kehidupan ikan. This research was conducted to examine the qualification of the pond water quality in oil palm estate and the fertility level of the water. The measured parameters were: temperature, radiance, dissolved oxygen (DO), acidity (pH), nitrate (NO3) and phosphate (PO4). The data analysis used Environment Quality Index (EQI) method and the fertility level of the water was analyzed descriptively with reference literature. The qualification result of the pond water quality in the research location calculated by the Environment Quality Index (EQI) method indicated good results at A1 and A2 for the first week in every station whereas A3 indicated a very good result, for the second week station A1 and A3 indicated very good results and station A2 in good result. The third week, station A1 and A2 indicated good result whereas A3 in a very good result. In general, the condition of the water quality in every pond was very decent for fish cultivation (tilapia, climbing perch, iridescent shark). Based on the fertility level of phosphate (PO4) and nitrate (NO3) from the first measurement to the third ones were found the average phosphate (PO4) was (0,88mg/l, 0,18mg/l, 0,35mg/l) and nitrate (NO3) was (1,3mg/l. <0,1mg/l, <0,1mg/l) which meant that the water qualification was still below the water fertility value. Hence the pond water indicated a very decent category for cultivation and fish lives.
