Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe analytically pesantren religious paradigm in North Sumatera, by tracing their teaching of Aqeedah, plurality, and jihad. The study focuses on two pesantren which are considered as the largest pesantren, they are MusthafawiyahPurbabaruMandailing Natal and RaudhahHasanah Medan. Quantitatively, both pesantren have more than 1000 entries, which come from various regions of Sumatera, and even outside it. The former was the oldest traditional (salafiyah) pesantren in North Sumatera while the latter was one of the earliest pesantren in which the system refers to the modernity of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor. The method is qualitative research. Interview, observation, and document analysis were used to collect data. This study has found that two pesantren educated their students with moderate values. It can be seen from: First, their Aqeedah teaching mostly refers to the theological school of Asy?ari and Maturity. These two schools of theology are considered as a moderate school by contemporary moslem scholars, and as majority school of ummah in Indonesia. Second, plurality according to them is a necessity. Moslem has to seek for peaceful co-existence and mutual tolerance between the people of different religions and cultures. Third, the term jihad to them is not only in a physical war but also in intellectual, against lust and doing creative work in society.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dinamika pola kerukunan umat beragama (religious harmony) FKUB di Sumatera Utara. Untuk mengungkap hal itu, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan phenomenologic-interpretif, dengan meng-gunakan teknik pengumpulan data pada FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Penelitian ini mengajukan beberapa temuan. Pertama, idealita kerukunan yang dibangun oleh FKUB Sumut berpijak pada pola kerukunan non-pluralisme agama, yang berarti bahwa truth claim pada masing-masing agama tidak bisa disamakan karena memiliki landasan teologis yang berbeda. Namun dalam konteks sosial, kebenaran teologis tersebut tidak boleh dipaksakan kepada orang lain, dan setiap individu beragama harus mampu bekerjasama untuk kepentingan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara. Kedua, dalam penerapannya, FKUB Sumatera Utara melakukan dialog teologis, interaksi sosial, advokasi dan regulasi serta dialog interaktif.Abstract: The Pattern of Religious Harmony in the Perspective of Religious Harmony Forum of Sumatera Utara. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the harmony of the FKUB (Religious Harmony Forum in North Sumatra). This study uses a phenomenologic-interpretive approach, using data collection techniques in FGD (Focus Group Discussion). This research finds that: First, the ideal of harmony established by FKUB of North Sumatra is based on the pattern of religious non-pluralism harmony, in a sense that the claim of truth in each religion can not beequated because it has a different theological foundation. But in the social context, such theological truths should not be imposed on others, and every religious individual must be able to work together for the benefit of society, nation and state. Second, in its application, FKUB of North Sumatra conducts theological dialogue, social interaction, advocacy and regulation and interactive dialogue.Keywords: agama-agama, kerukunan, pluralisme, FKUB, Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Memperbincangkan negara Amerika Serikat (United States of America) selalu saja menarik dari banyak sisinya, termasuk tentang pendidikan Islam Muslim minoritas di dalamnya. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari karakater negaranya yang multi etnik-rasial, dan multi agama dan kepercayaan, atau populer dengan ungkapan the nation with the soul of a Church. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pertumbuhan masyarakat Muslim minoritas dan pola-pola pendidikan agama bagi Muslim minoritas di Amerika Serikat. Temuan penelitian dihasilkan melalui studi kepustakaan dengan metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan populasi Muslim di Amerika Serikat relatif cepat. Jika saat ini masih berkisar 4-7 juta jiwa, maka diperkirakan tahun 2050 akan melewati 8,1 juta jiwa. Pola-pola pendidikan agama bagi Muslim minoritas dilakukan melalui sekolah swasta berbasis agama (Islam), informal homeschooling, perguruan tinggi (universitas dan college), masjid (islamic center), dan organisasi Islam. Di antara isu kompleksitas tantangan pendidikan Islam di Amerika adalah model pendidikan Islam yang eksklusif dan konservatif berbarengan dengan adanya prospek Program pendidikan Inter-faith communities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) madrasah-Islamic boarding school integrative curriculum planning at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai, 2) madrasah-Islamic boarding school integrative curriculum implementation at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai, and 3) the evaluation of madrasah-Islamic boarding school integrative curriculum at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai. This study used a descriptive qualitative method through an interpretive paradigm with the research site, namely Madrasah Aliyah Mizanul Kubro Binjai. Data collection techniques include non-participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusions and verification. The results of the study show that: 1) the integration planning of the madrasah and Islamic boarding schools curriculum at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai is carried out by integrating curriculum objectives and integrating the organization of curriculum content; 2) implementing an integrative curriculum for madrasah-Islamic boarding schools at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai is carried out by integrating academic and non-academic programs implementing the curriculum and integrating the supervision of curriculum implementation through collaboration between the head of the madrasah and the head of the Islamic boarding school in carrying out supervision; 3) evaluating the integrative curriculum of madrasah and Islamic boarding schools at MAS Mizanul Kubro, including the curriculum in context (social-cultural developments, science and technology, and the world of work), input (competency of teaching staff, readiness of students, learning media/means), process (identical and weekly), and product (mid-year and year-end evaluation)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui benang merah antara pendidikan karakter dengan Pendidikan Agama dan Kemuhammadiyahan di SMP Muhammadiyah 62 Tanjung Gusta Deli Serdang 2) mengetahui implementasi nilai karakter dalam proses pembelajaran pendidikan Agama dan Kemuhammadiyahan di SMP Muhammadiyah 62 Tanjung Gusta Deli Serdang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi non partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data melalui langkah kondensasi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa relevansi pendidikan karakter dengan pendidikan Agama dan Kemuhammadiyahan di SMP 62 Muhammadiyah pada aspek materi tampak pada ruang lingkup kajian yang meliputi hablum minallah (hubungan dengan Allah), hablum minannas (hubungan dengan manusia), hablum minal’alam (hubungan dengan alam), yang mengandung muatan nilai-nilai karakter bangsa. Adapun implementasi nilai-nilai karkater pada aspek proses pembelajaran dapat diurai ke dalam tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Pada tahap perencanaan ditekankan pada adaptasi dan pengembangan RPP yang diarahkan pada penguatan capaian kompetensi ranah afektif dengan muatan nilai-nilai karakter yang dapat diimplementasikan

Abstract

Penelitian ini berrtujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang implementasi peningkatan daya ingat siswa menggunakan metode bernyanyi dalam pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni  kualitatif karna untuk menganalisis dan memberikan deskriptif tentang implementasi metode bernyanyi yang dilakukan guru dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dan hasil belajar yang baik. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Sedangkan untuk teknik keabsahan data menggunakan dua cara berupa triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode bernyanyi sangat tepat diterapkan, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang dinamis dan menyenangkan bagi siswa di SDN 107412 Simadamada Deli Serdang. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan perhatian, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman terhadap materi PAI. Selain itu, metode ini juga berhasil meningkatkan antusiasme dan semangat belajar siswa, yang tercermin dalam partisipasi aktif dan kemampuan mereka dalam menghafal serta memahami konsep-konsep agama. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa metode bernyanyi efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran PAI dan dapat dijadikan strategi pengajaran yang inovatif.

Abstract

This study investigates the principal’s managerial approach in shaping the personality of Muslim female students at Al-Ulum Integrated Islamic High School Medan amid the challenges of the digital era. The research aims to analyze how school leadership integrates Islamic values through structured keputrian (female student development) programs. A qualitative case study design was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews with principals, teachers, and students, and documentation analysis. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the principal implemented a value-based management model by systematically planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating keputrian activities to foster students’ Islamic character, discipline, and moral awareness. The study also found that strong collaboration among the school foundation, teachers, parents, and an Islamic school environment significantly supported the program’s effectiveness. However, external social influences and uncontrolled technology use remained major challenges in developing students’ personalities. This study contributes a specific leadership-based management model for female Islamic character education in integrated Islamic schools. The findings imply that effective school leadership and structured religious programs can strengthen students’ moral development and resilience in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of madrasah management in improving the quality of Islamic education at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta TPI Rambung Sialang. Previous studies mostly examined educational quality and madrasah management separately, while limited research has explored how integrated management practices directly contribute to improving Islamic education quality. This gap underlines the importance of examining effective management indicators in madrasah institutions. This study employed a qualitative approach using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Informants included the head of the madrasah, teachers, committee members, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The indicators of management effectiveness included transformational leadership, school-based management, teacher commitment, stakeholder collaboration, and competency-oriented learning supervision. The findings show that effective madrasah management is reflected in strong leadership, active collaboration with parents and the community, and continuous monitoring of student development. These practices contributed significantly to improving students’ academic and religious competencies. The novelty of this study lies in integrating leadership, collaboration, and competency-based management as key determinants of Islamic education quality improvement. Practically, the findings provide guidance for developing participatory and quality-oriented madrasah management systems.
