Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) madrasah-Islamic boarding school integrative curriculum planning at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai, 2) madrasah-Islamic boarding school integrative curriculum implementation at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai, and 3) the evaluation of madrasah-Islamic boarding school integrative curriculum at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai. This study used a descriptive qualitative method through an interpretive paradigm with the research site, namely Madrasah Aliyah Mizanul Kubro Binjai. Data collection techniques include non-participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusions and verification. The results of the study show that: 1) the integration planning of the madrasah and Islamic boarding schools curriculum at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai is carried out by integrating curriculum objectives and integrating the organization of curriculum content; 2) implementing an integrative curriculum for madrasah-Islamic boarding schools at MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai is carried out by integrating academic and non-academic programs implementing the curriculum and integrating the supervision of curriculum implementation through collaboration between the head of the madrasah and the head of the Islamic boarding school in carrying out supervision; 3) evaluating the integrative curriculum of madrasah and Islamic boarding schools at MAS Mizanul Kubro, including the curriculum in context (social-cultural developments, science and technology, and the world of work), input (competency of teaching staff, readiness of students, learning media/means), process (identical and weekly), and product (mid-year and year-end evaluation)

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan majelis taklim darusshofa adalah majelis yang berada di dalam Kota Medan dan menjadi salah satu majelis terpopuler dengan jumlah jemaah yang berasal dari dalam maupun dari luar Kota Medan. Masyarakat Kota Medan memiliki kriminalitas yang cukup tinggi, Masalah ini terjadi karena rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pendidikan agama Islam sehingga membuat masyarakat terus hidup berdampingan dengan hal-hal yang tidak baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peranan Majelis Taklim Darusshofa dalam meningkatkan pemahaman pendidikan Islam pada masyarakat Kota Medan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan wawancara terhadap para jemaah dan pimpinan majelis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Majelis Taklim Darusshofa berperan penting untuk masyarakat Kota Medan karena majelis ini dapat membantu memahami ajaran Islam yang lebih luas serta membentuk akhlakul karimah pada masyarakat (2) Majelis Taklim Darusshofa bermanfaat untuk mengajarkan bagimana caranya menjalin silaturahmi antara masyarakat dengan baik (3) Majelis Taklim Darusshofa di dalamnya terdapat aktivitas yaitu pembacaan berbagai ratib, zikir, selawat, maulid, qasidah dan penyampaian ilmu keagamaan.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pendidikan Barat terhadap pendidikan Islam di Indonesia melalui pendekatan sejarah dan filsafat. Secara historis, pendidikan Islam di Indonesia telah mengalami transformasi signifikan sejak masa kolonial, ketika sistem pendidikan Barat diperkenalkan oleh penjajah Belanda. Interaksi antara kedua sistem pendidikan ini melahirkan dinamika yang kompleks, termasuk integrasi kurikulum, perubahan metode pengajaran, serta pergeseran orientasi pendidikan Islam dari yang bersifat tradisional menuju bentuk yang lebih formal dan terstruktur. Dari perspektif filsafat pendidikan, studi ini menelaah nilai-nilai dasar, tujuan, dan epistemologi dari masing-masing sistem, serta bagaimana pertemuan keduanya mempengaruhi identitas pendidikan Islam kontemporer di Indonesia. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pendidikan Barat membawa dampak modernisasi dan rasionalisasi dalam pendidikan Islam, ia juga menimbulkan tantangan terhadap otentisitas nilai-nilai Islam. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan kritis dan selektif dalam mengadopsi unsur-unsur pendidikan Barat agar tetap sejalan dengan prinsip-prinsip Islam.

Abstract

A moral crisis occurs when a person loses the attitude, character, and behavior that are in accordance with goodness. Moral and ethical crises often occur among the younger generation in Indonesia due to various factors, such as the impact of globalization, the influence of social media, the lack of parental involvement, and the lack of character education in schools. This study aims to explore the relevance of character education values in M. Quraish Shihab's Tafsir Al-Mishbah to the problems faced by students in the contemporary era. The crisis of morality, bullying, and the threat of radicalism are the background to the urgency of internalizing contextual Qur'anic values. This research is qualitative in nature, using library research, a thematic approach, and content analysis. The results show that the concept of character education in Tafsir Al-Mishbah is rooted in the relationship between the meaning of Rabb and tarbiyah, which aims to shape Insan Kamil through intellectual and spiritual balance. Analysis of Q.S. Luqman: 12-13, Q.S. Al-Hujurat: 11-13, and Q.S. Al-Mujadilah: 11 reveals fundamental values such as monotheism, gratitude, tolerance, and manners in seeking knowledge. The relevance of the findings shows that Quraish Shihab's moderate (wasathiyah) thinking is very effective in protecting students from extreme ideas, building digital literacy ethics through the principle of tabayyun, and eliminating the culture of violence in schools through a humanistic approach. This study concludes that Tafsir Al-Mishbah offers a functional methodological framework for strengthening the character of 21st-century students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of Islamic education from the perspective of tafsir tarbawi based on the thoughts of the Indonesian three prominent Islamic education scholars, namely Ahmad Tafsir, Abuddin Nata, and Muhaimin. The focus of the study is directed toward three main aspects of education: educational goals, educational materials, and educational methods derived from the values of the Qur’an. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research. The data were obtained from primary sources in the form of the works of the examined scholars and secondary sources consisting of books, journal articles, and relevant research findings. Data collection was conducted through documentation, while data analysis employed content analysis with a descriptive-analytical approach. The results indicate that tafsir tarbawi views the goal of Islamic education as an effort to form insan kāmil, characterized by a balanced development of faith, knowledge, and morality. Educational materials are integrative, combining religious knowledge and general knowledge based on Qur’anic values. Meanwhile, educational methods in tafsir tarbawi emphasize humanistic, contextual, and participatory approaches through exemplification, dialogue, storytelling, and habituation. This study affirms that tafsir tarbawi has strong relevance in addressing the challenges of contemporary Islamic education, particularly in strengthening students’ character and moral values.
