Abstract

Abstract Stroke is a disease caused by a blockage or haemorrhage in the blood vessels of the brain that can block or reduce the blood supply to the brain. The provision of Al-Quran therapy is a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used in managing pain. The research can be classified as quantitative, with a quasi-experimental approach. This research data sampling technique is non probability sampling. The sample used was 30 stroke patients. The research tools used are observation sheets, headphones, mobile phones and murottal surah Al-Isra. The characteristics of respondents aged less than 50 years were observed in 14 respondents (46.7%) out of a total of 30 respondents, while respondents aged 50 years or older were observed in 16 respondents (53.3%) out of a total of 30 respondents. The characteristics of respondents according to gender revealed that 21 males (70.0%) out of a total of 30 respondents, while females constituted 9 respondents (30.0%) out of a total of 30 respondents. The results demonstrated a p-value of 0.000 for the variables of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, respiratory rate (RR), pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation, with a p-value less than 0.05, indicating a statistically significant result. It can be concluded that Al-Quran Murottal Therapy has an effect on the haemodynamic status in stroke patients at Moewardi Hospital.

Abstract

Oral mucosal pressure ulcers is a pressure sore found in the mucous membrane area with a history of using medical devices. The use of NGT is not only to be considered in the administration of nutrition, but also needs to be considered in the oral area. Oral hygiene is defined as the act of cleaning and refreshing the mouth, teeth, and gums. The objective of oral hygiene is to maintain the health of the lips, tongue, and oral mucosa, prevent infection, and moisturise the oral membrane and lips. This research employs quantitative methods and a quasi-experimental design. In this research, the data sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample used was 42 respondents with inclusion criteria installed nasogastric tube (NGT). Characteristics of respondents aged <60 years were 26 respondents (61.9%) of a total of 42 respondents, while respondents aged >60 years were 16 respondents (38.1%) of a total of 42 respondents. The respondents were characterised according to gender. Of the total number of respondents, 19 were male (45.2%) and 23 were female (54.8%). The results showed that there was an effect of oral hygiene on oral mucosal pressure ulcers in patients with nasogastric tube (NGT) in the ICU room at Dr Moeward Hospital with a p-value of 0.000 (p-value <0.05).

Abstract

Ankle sprain is a musculoskeletal injury due to excessive tension or tearing of the ankle ligaments. Ankle sprain injuries can be managed with the PEACE and LOVE approach, which is an injury management method that not only focuses on the improvement but also considers aspects of injury recovery to increase knowledge and awareness of injury and recovery of psychological trauma post-injury. KNC-Emergency is an organization that plays an active role in handling medical teams, therefore it is important to develop medical knowledge and skills in first aid for injuries. Purpose to find out the application effect of the PEACE and LOVE training on the knowledge and skills of ankle sprain management in KNC-Emergency members. The research method used the quasi-experiment, the sampling technique used purposive sampling using the Slovin formula for 38 KNC-Emergency members. The PEACE and LOVE training was conducted over two meetings using the measurement tool of a questionnaire sheet to measure knowledge and an observation sheet to measure ankle sprain injury management skills using the PEACE and LOVE approach. The bivariate result using the Wilcoxon test pre and post training showed a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). The PEACE and LOVE training is effective to improve knowledge and skills of ankle sprain management in KNC-Emergency members
