Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to identify the effect of fear of failure towards academic procrastination of final-year university students in Bandung city. It utilizes the fear of failure theory by Conroy and academic procrastination by Solomon and Rothblum. It employs a non-experimental quantitative approach using the causality study design to describe the scale of impact of the fear of failure variable towards academic procrastination. The total participants of this study are 334 final-year university students in Bandung. The study uses the Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI) arranged and developed by Conroy and adapted by Bauzir for the measurement tool. It also uses the Thesis Writing Procrastination Scale (TW-PS) developed by Diniy Hidayatur Rahman. The result indicates the presence of the effect of fear of failure towards academic procrastination of final year university students in Bandung. The scale of this fear of failure effect towards academic procrastination is low for 18,2%. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh fear of failure terhadap prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa akhir di Kota Bandung. Peneliti menggunakan konsep teori dari Conroy untuk menjelaskan konsep fear of failure dan teori dari Solomon dan Rothblum untuk menjelaskan konsep prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kausalitas untuk menjelaskan besar pengaruh variabel fear of failure terhadap variabel prokrastinasi akademik. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 334 mahasiswa skripsi di Kota Bandung. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI) alat ukur yang disusun dan dikembangkan oleh Conroy dan diadaptasi oleh Bauzir, serta Thesis Writing Procrastination Scale (TW-PS) yang dikembangkan oleh Diniy Hidayatur Rahman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh fear of failure terhadap prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa skripsi di Kota Bandung. Pengaruh fear of failure terhadap prokrastinasi akademik rendah hanya 18,2%.

Abstract

Abstract. One of the consequences of the high divorce rate is the increasing number of infidelity from year to year. Infidelity can affect the psychological condition of the victim. In order for the victim to reconcile and the psychological impact felt is not continuous, forgiveness is needed from the victim towards the perpetrator of the infidelity. One of the factors that underlies individuals to forgive is the personality type they have. This study aims to determine the relationship between personality types and forgiveness in couples who have been cheated on in marriage in the city of Bandung. Snowball sampling use in this research with total 120 respondents. This study used a correlational design and used the Spearman rank correlation test analysis technique. Measuring instrument in this study was the Big Five Personality Inventory (BFI) which has been adapted by Ramdhani and Transregression Related Interpersonal Motivation (TRIM-18) which has been adapted by Agung. Results of the study showed that there was a positive relationship between the personality types of openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness with forgiveness and a negative relationship between the personality type of neuroticism with forgiveness. These findings indicate that personality types are related to forgiveness both positively and negatively based on sub-aspects of each personality type. Abstrak. Salah satu akibat dari tingginya perceraian adalah angka perselingkuhan yang semakin meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Perselingkuhan dapat mempengaruhi kondisi psikologis korban. Agar korban dapat berdamai dan dampak psikologis yang dirasakan tidak berkelanjutan, maka dibutuhkan pemaafan pada diri korban terhadap pelaku perselingkuhan. Salah satu faktor yang melatarbelakangi individu melakukan pemaafan adalah tipe kepribadian yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tipe kepribadian dengan pemaafan pada pasangan yang diselingkuhi dalam pernikahan di Kota Bandung. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu snowball sampling, dan jumlah sampel yang diperoleh sebanyak 120 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain korelasional dan menggunakan teknis analisis uji korelasi rank spearman. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Big Five Personality Innventory (BFI) yang telah diadaptasi oleh Ramdhani dan Transregression Related Interpersonal Motivation (TRIM-18) yang telah diadaptasi oleh Agung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif pada tipe kepribadian openness to experience, conscientiousnes, extraversion, dan agreeableness dengan pemaafan dan hubungan negatif pada tipe kepribadian neuroticism dengan pemaafan. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa tipe kepribadian berhubungan dengan pemaafan baik positif maupun negatif yang didasari oleh sub aspek pada setiap tipe kepribadiannya.
