Abstract

The problem in this study is what parenting patterns are used by grandmothers in caring for their grandsons who excel in Sapan Village. This study uses an approach with a descriptive type of research. This research instrument uses data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The main subjects in this study were 5 grandmothers and 5 grandchildren in Sapan village. The results of the research conducted by this researcher indicate that: 1) The parenting pattern used by grandmothers in Sapan Village is a permitted and democratic parenting pattern, 2) Factors that cause parenting to switch to existing ancestors due to economic factors, busy parents working, widowed or widowed parents due to death and divorced parents.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine classroom management skills in increasing students' learning motivation. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach.This study aims to describe classroom management skills in increasing students' learning motivation. The data sources of this research are teachers and fourth grade students who use the interview instrument with a structured interview list. The results of this study indicate that the teacher has been able to manage the class well, the classroom management carried out by the teacher is like showing a responsive attitude, focusing the attention of the group, namely the teacher asks students to pay attention to the explanation of the material given and then asks all groups if there are those who do not understand then the teacher re-explaining the given task, giving clear instructions, admonishing students well by speaking firmly and clearly without saying rudely or pinching or hitting students, providing reinforcement, namely the teacher gives praise to each student who answers the wrong or correct question so that keep the spirit in learning.From classroom management by teachers, it can also generate student learning motivation because a good relationship between students and teachers that is well established can increase student learning motivation where students do not easily give up in doing assignments and the role of teachers who can arouse students' enthusiasm in learning and teachers who can create a pleasant classroom atmosphere.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is mathematics that exists in the culture. The purpose of this study is to describe the results of identifying ethnomathematics forms of the Toraja tribe and obtaining the results of the analysis of ethnomathematics relationships in the Toraja tribe in accordance with mathematical concepts in elementary schools. The method used is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. The data collection techniques carried out in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study includes data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions, and verification. The result of this study is that on the activities and artifacts of the Toraja tribal community there are ethnomathematic forms that are related to the mathematical concept in elementary school, namely tombi', the number of gayang in traditional ceremonies is related to integer operations; lola', bombongan, senuan, bingka', sokkong bayu, ma'bugi' movement pattern, ma'badong movement pattern related to the concept of circle; stone burrows, lamba-lamba, ale, la'pa', woven fabrics related to the concept of a rectangle; kandaure and paruki' motifs are related to the concept of rhombus; jipang cakes are related to the concept of cuboid; suke, patti, suling, pompang, gandang, baka, buria' and pa'piong are related to the concept of cylinder; sarong is related to the concept of cone; unuran is related to the concept of a hexagonal prism; songko' relates to the concept of the sphere; limbong pala', kutu', pongo' relates to the concept of measurement and the weaving process is related to the concept of the phytagoras theorem.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the Meaning and Value of Toraja Carving in the Ornamental Variety of Flora Carvings as a Source of Character Education. Toraja carving is one of the original Toraja traditional arts that are usually found on the walls of Tongkonan houses (Toraja traditional houses) and Alang (rice barns). Toraja carvings are referred to as “Passura”. This research is qualitative research and the type of research is descriptive. The results of the research obtained are the meaning and value of character education contained in Toraja carving as a variety of ornamental flora carvings. The meaning contained in every Toraja carving is that the family in “Tongkonan” is facilitated in seeking fortune, in life it is expected to always be calm and abundant in rice, always maintain the ropes of brotherhood, always maintain the mind and nobleness, the owner of the traditional house (Tongkonan) has fertile and vast rice fields, we must obey so that we always get protection from the Creator, must not be convoluted when talking, symbolizes joy and gratitude, always maintains unity, is always humble, cultivates unity so that the work becomes light. The values contained in each Toraja carving are religious, peace-loving, honest, caring for the environment, hard work, aggressing achievements, and creative.

Abstract

Tongkonan is a traditional house located in the Toraja area, precisely in the mountainous area of ??the northern part of South Sulawesi. Tongkonan is shaped like a boat facing north. Tongkonan is a special building erected by a community leader or a family clump where Tongkonan has a special function in society which is not only used as a house for community leaders, but also functions as a guardian of various rules in Aluk Todolo that regulate social life, beliefs and Toraja culture. Tongkonan also has a very deep philosophical meaning for the Toraja people. Based on observations made by the team, there are still many students at Lembang Tondon Elementary School who do not understand and are fluent in reading and arithmetic, at their current age, they should have understood and understand reading and arithmetic. so that the team carried out teaching activities for elementary school students about reading, counting and drawing the types of carvings and understanding the meaning of the carvings which were carried out at Tongkonan Tella. From the results of these activities which were carried out for approximately 2 months, it was clear that the development of these children, who previously had not been able to distinguish letters, were now able to spell little by little. In addition, children who previously had not been able to sort numbers properly and correctly, are now able to sort and even can do addition and subtraction well

Abstract

The background of this problem is the Implementation of Character Education Values in School Culture in Makale Christian Elementary School 2 Makale. This research aims to find out how the application of character education value to school culture in Makale Christian Elementary School 2. This type of research is to use descriptive qualitative method research, with this type of case study research. The subjects in this study were students from grade I-VI of Makale Christian Elementary School 2. While the object of this research is the value of character education on school culture. Research instruments used are interviews, questionnaires, observations and documentation. The results of this study show that the application of the value of character education to school culture is carried out well which can be seen from the 7 application of character education values, including honesty, discipline, responsibility, care, cooperation, care and courtesy.

Abstract

Discipline character is very important to be instilled in students. At SDN 145 Randanan has instilled the value of discipline. Such as carrying out picket duties, greetings, participating in flag ceremonies. This is indicated by the teacher's efforts to provide sanctions for violations of school rules and regulations committed by students. However, there are still some students who violate the rules including: students are often late for school, students do not put in their uniforms, students are not fully clothed during the ceremony. Therefore, it is important for a teacher to know what strategies are used to instill the value of character education in students. This study aims to determine how the teacher's strategy in instilling the value of character education in class V SDN 145 Randanan This research approach is a qualitative approach with this type of research. qualitative descriptive. The types of data used are primary and secondary data with data sources from informants or sources, books, and scientific journals. Data collection techniques used, namely observation, interviews, and documentation with data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the teacher's strategy in instilling the value of disciplined character education in fifth grade students of SDN 145 Randanan was to be an example and role model, habituation, awareness, giving rewards (gifts), educative punishments (educating), setting school rules and class rules.
