Abstract

This research was conducted to increase production of eggplants through combination of N-source and number of main branch has done onthe field of andosol in Poncokusumo - Malang, 600 m asl, pH 5.4, from August to December 2013. The experiment used a Randomized Complete Block Design with 2 factors and 3 replications. Factor 1 was proportion of inorganic - organic N fertilizer (138 kg N ha-1): 100% Urea, 75% Urea + 25% goat manure, 50% Urea + 50% goat manure, and 25% Urea + 75% goat manure. Factor 2 was number of main branches: 1, 2 and 3 main branches. Results showed that there was no interaction effect between treatment combinations of organic-inorganic sources of N and the number of main branches to all observed variables. Treatment using the combination of 75% Urea + 25% goat manure increased the plant growth and gave the highest fruit yield (49.20 t ha-1) in comparison with combination using other fertilizers and 100% Urea. The lowest was derived from the application of 100% Urea, 35.61 t ha-1. Cultivation of eggplant with 3 main branches has resulted better growth and fruit yield than 1 and 2 main branches, 50.85, 47.91 and 30.79 t ha-1, respectively.Keywords: eggplant, goat manure, main branch, urea

Abstract

Perbaikan faktor lingkungan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sorgum manis, salah satu alternatif yang dapat ditempuh dengan memanfaatkan suberdaya yang telah tersedia. Diantaranya adalah energi radiasi matahari yang berperan dalam proses fotosintesis. Arah baris dan kerapatan populasi tanaman mempengaruhi besarnya energi matahari yang diterima. Sehingga, perlu adanya pengaturan arah baris dan jarak tanam yang tepat agar penerimaan energi radiasi oleh tanaman lebih efisien. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Petak Terbagi (RPT). Penelitian terdiri dari 2 (dua) faktor perlakuan dan 4 (empat) ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah Arah baris timut-barat (TB) dan utara-selatan (US) Sedangkan faktor kedua adalah jarak tanam (JT15, JT30 dan JT45). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan arah baris utara-selatan meningkatkan bobot kering total tanaman umur 53 hst sebesar 36,71% apabila dibandingkan dengan arah baris timur-barat. Jarak tanam secara nyata meningkatkan komponen pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sorgum manis. Pemberian jarak tanam JT45 memberikan bobot segar total tanaman umur 67 hst dan 81 hst sebesar 35,25%, namun tidak berbeda nyata dengan JT30. Pemberian jarak tanam JT45 memberikan bobot kering total tanaman umur 81 hst sebesar 11,30%, apabila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan tanam 75 x 30 cm dan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 40,84% apabila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan jarak tanam 75 x 15 cm. Hasil panen biji kering jarak tanam 75 x 15 cm menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi, dimana rata-rata hasil panen biji kering sebesar 3,84 ton h-1

Abstract

Sindang community located in the Jukung village Lubuklinggau city is a community that manages smallholders as their agricultural activities. The plantation sector is a source of livelihood of the people the majority of Sindang community. Plantation management people are still traditional and less intensive farming estates is the weakness of the people in the community that need to be done Sindang Smallholder plantation development strategy. The determination of strategy should be beneficial economic, social, political, cultural, environment. the aim of this study is to determine the factors that influence and provide recommendations and priorities of the people of plantation development strategies Sindang community. The method used is the SWOT analysis and analysis QSPM. The results of this study were 1) the development of Smallholder plantation in Sindang communities affected by internal elements (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats). the suitability of a power element is growing and the culture of the smallholders with influence value of 1.08; for the element of weakness is institutional weakness of farmers and the cultivation process less than the maximum value of 2.55 influence. The element of chance is the support of the government and change the culture system to influence the value of 0.87; and the element of threat is the lack of cooperation between the farmer and the source of innovation and poor quality of production with a value of 1.87 influence. 2) Referrals development must focus on the strategy to overcome the weaknesses (internal) and threats (external) are the construction of smallholders with agricultural systems are environmentally friendly, doing planting agricultural crops are more diverse/strengthening of the functions of agricultural land, management of post harvest to give value adding, Conducting training/education about organizational management and farm management.Keyword: Development Strategy, Smallholder Plantation, SWOT
