Abstract

Abstract

Home security is an important aspect of modern life, especially in the digital era that demands efficiency and ease of monitoring. The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has opened up great opportunities in the development of smart home security systems. Based on these conditions, this study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based home door security system by utilizing a Reed Switch sensor (magnetic door) and a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. The Reed Switch sensor functions to detect the door status, both in open and closed states, while the NodeMCU ESP8266 is used as a control center that processes sensor data and sends notifications in real-time via Telegram Bot. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) which includes the stages of system analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The test results show that the system is able to detect changes in door conditions well and send notifications quickly and accurately to users. In addition, the system can operate stably for a fairly long period of time without significant problems. Therefore, the IoT-based door security system developed can be used as an additional security solution that is effective, easy to implement, and economical to improve home security.

Abstract

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is widely used as the primary energy source in Indonesian households; however, gas leakage poses a serious risk that may lead to fires and explosions if not detected at an early stage. This study aims to design and implement a smart home system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) for the detection and mitigation of LPG gas leaks in households integrated with the Blynk application. The research employed an experimental method by designing and testing a system using an ESP32 microcontroller, an MQ-2 gas sensor, a buzzer, LED indicators, and the Blynk application for remote monitoring and notifications. System testing was conducted in a real household environment with variations in the distance between the gas source and the sensor to evaluate sensor sensitivity, system response time, and IoT connectivity stability. The experimental results indicate that the system can effectively detect LPG gas leaks at an optimal distance of 5–15 cm, with an alarm response time of less than 2 seconds and an average Blynk notification delay of 2–3 seconds. In addition, the system demonstrated stable performance during continuous operation. Based on these results, the proposed system is considered effective, easy to implement, and has strong potential to enhance household safety against LPG gas leakage risks in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Pari City Waste Bank application utilizes a computerized system in managing waste involving the field of information technology. This shows that information technology has become a supporting part in waste management. This waste bank is an institution in the village engaged in waste processing. In addition to saving and sorting waste, the waste bank also teaches the community to process waste into useful goods that have a selling value. A computerized system is needed in waste bank institutions so that their performance can improve and the institution can develop better. From the existing problems, the author created a system for transactions and management of Waste Banks in Pari City using a web-based information system. The results of this web-based Waste Bank application can speed up and make it easier for officers to make transactions, process, and record customer savings data at the waste bank.

Abstract

The need for stable and efficient internet in the small business environment and public services demands optimal traffic distribution. Conventional load-balancing methods such as PCC and ECMP are often unable to allocate bandwidth based on service type or application priority, leading to congestion and decreased performance during peak hours. This study developed a load-balancing system based on Policy-Based Routing (PBR) to optimize traffic on multi-ISP networks using MikroTik RouterOS. The system is configured by classifying traffic based on the source IP, protocol type, and service needs, then routed through two ISPs using separate routing tables. The test results showed that PBR significantly improved network performance, with a 20–35% increase in throughput, a 60% decrease in latency, and a more stable QoS in streaming, VoIP, and browsing services. This study proves that PBR provides greater flexibility and efficiency than conventional load-balancing methods, making it suitable for applications in cafes, MSMEs, and agencies that require stable multi-link connectivity.
