Abstract

Pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) is one of the most potential fruit crop cultivating in Indonesia. However, it is difficult to meet the demand for planting materials using the conventional propagation techniques due to production inefficiency. This research aim to know the influence solid medium of Murashige and Skoog (MS) composed of Indol-3-Butiric Acid and Thidiazuron, upon pineapple Var Smooth Cayenne shoot multiplication response. Shoot multiplication using a factorial complete random design. The first is a 3-level IBA concentration (0.3 ppm, 0.6 ppm, 0.9 ppm), a 3-level TDZ concentration (0.2 ppm, 0.4 ppm, 0.6 ppm). The finding shows that MS richly composed IBA and TDZ with low concentration gives 100% shoot the fastest periodic appearance (two weeks after incubation). Varians analysis finding shows that there is no interaction between IBA and TDZ.Low IBA concentration gives the higest quantity of shoot 9.32 (5.60 data transformation) at 5 week after incubation, at the end of the analysis tends to give the higest shoot 11.17 (6.18 data transformation) even though it is statistically not slighty difference. The highest TDZ concentration (0,6 ppm) give a few number of roots 0.89 (2,65 data transformation) and the lowes shoots leaf 3.84 (4.04 data transformation). The higher the TDZ is, the more nodal may appear.

Abstract

Rice is one of the most important staple food consumed by more than half of the world population, especially in Indonesia where majority of the people consumed rice as daily intake. Precision agriculture is needed to boost production to meet the demand. As limiting factor for plant growth, huge doses of nitrogen fertilizer are deployed, in fact the absorbtion rate of plant was only about 50%. Developing vision-control based robot for fertilizing plant need proper database so that false positive and negative could be avoided. Several previous methods that were available to assest nitrogen status in plant such as a color chart, spectrometer, SPAD-502, and kjedahl. Plant phenotyping is often used for plant breeding, but also very useful in determining nutrient status in plants. Cheap and simple phenotyping using digital camera followed by extracting data through open source platform such as ImageJ can be very useful to generate data for building the database. Here we presented the current progress on plant phenotyping for nitrogen assessment in plant as well as an ImageJ in phenomic era. We also highlight some robotic progress especially vision-based robot, who rely on proper imaging data for their training.

Abstract

Chilli pepper (Capsicum frutescens L) is an important horticulture in Indonesia. High demand often did not meet the production. One of the leading factors is the quality and bad seed conditions, which affect plant growth and production. This research was conducted from February to May 2024 in the research field and laboratory of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology, Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Trunojoyo Madura. The research aim was to determine the effect of gibberellin concentrations and varieties on the germination and plant growth of chili peppers. Factorial randomized Block Design (RBD) was used in this research with gibberellin as the first factor G0 (0 ppm), G1 (1.07 ppm), G2 (1.10 ppm), G3 (1.23 PPM), and the second factor was varieties including V1 (Bhaskara), V2 (Master), V3 (Viral). The data obtained from this experiment was analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a 5% level of confidence, and if there were significant differences, the Duncan multiple range test (DMRT) was performed. This experiment showed that G0 and V1 had the best responses to germination and plant growth compared to the other treatments. Furthermore, this showed that gibberellin, the range of treatments, is still ineffective in increasing the germination ability and the growth of chili peppers.
