Abstract

Abstract

Background: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a malignant, slow growing, and locally invasive skin tumor. Advanced and neglected BCC may invade adjacent structures. The 5-year recurrence rates of facial BCCs are 4.1% after excision and 2.5% after Mohs Micrographic Surgery (MMS). The number of BCC cases invading the bones of the head and neck region is limited. Case Illustration: A 75-year-old male complained of bleeding and ulcer enlargement on the right cheek expanding to the right nasal ala for 1 month. The patient had a history of an enlarged and painful lenticular nodule with a hyperpigmented spot that appeared 10 years ago on the right cheek and was diagnosed as BCC. The patient was treated with a wide excision having a negative pathological margin 3 years ago. He noticed that the similar lesion reappeared at the same location 2.5 years ago. Post-operative histopathological results showed nodular infiltrative BCC and maxillary bone invasion. Discussion: Based on history taking, physical examination, and diagnostic evaluation, the diagnosis of the patient was recurrent nodular infiltrative BCC. The final histopathology confirmed that tumor cells invaded the maxillary bone. After considering the treatment options, the patient opted to proceed with radiotherapy. Conclusion: Recurrent nodular BCC with invasion to the maxillary bone is a rare and interesting case. Among 140 BCC cases that we treated with MMS in our hospital from June 2014 to September 2019, this case is the first recurrent BCC with maxillary bone invasion.

Abstract

The use of technology has now been applied by almost all sectors of job, one of which is in the field of education. Information management at Universal University using the Academic Information System has been implemented for approximately 4 (four) years since 2017. However, so far SIMAK at Universal University has never conducted any evaluation or audit of IT governance, so the use of SIMAK has not been proven whether has been going well, therefore it is necessary to conduct an IT Governance Audit at Universal University on SIMAK services using the COBIT 5 framework MEA (Monitor, Evaluate and Assess) domain. The results show that the SIMAK capability level at Universal University is currently at level 1 (Performed Process) which means that the system has been running well and the IT goals have been achieved. SIMAK at Universal University has not yet reached the expected condition (To Be), which is at level 4 (Predictable Process) with the gap it has is 3.

Abstract

The older adult population in Jambi Province constituted 10.23% of the total population in 2023, categorizing it as an "aging population." This study aims to provide an overview of the employment participation of older adults in Jambi Province and to analyze the factors influencing their continued engagement in the labor force. The research employs descriptive and inferential analyses, utilizing binary logistic regression methods based on data from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) conducted in October 2023 in Jambi Province. The findings reveal that the majority of the older adult population in Jambi Province remains actively employed, with 53.40% reporting work as their main activity. The working older adult population is predominantly characterized by individuals residing in rural areas, males, those with education levels up to junior high school or lower, individuals without physical limitations, married individuals, and heads of households—factors that significantly increase their likelihood of being employed in old age. The agricultural sector serves as the primary employer for the older adult workforce in Jambi, absorbing 69.64% of older adult workers, followed by the trade sector at 10.95%. Both sectors are characterized by their minimal reliance on formal educational qualifications, emphasizing physical capability over academic credentials.
