Abstract

This study aims to determine feed consumption, conversion and income over feed cost on kedu?s chicken. The method used in the study was Randomized Block Design (RBD), with 5 treatments i.e P0, P1, P2, P3, P4. Each treatment was repeated 4 times and gained 20 experimental units. Each replication consists of 1 chicken which laided separately. The treatment of feed consisted of P0: 100% feed without waste, P1: 85% formulated feed and 15% market waste, 80 formulation feed and 20% market waste, P2: 85% formulated feed and market waste flour 15 %, feed formulation 80% and market waste flour 20%, P3: fomulation feed 85% and market waste boiled 15% fomulation feed 80% and market waste boiled 20%, P4: feed formulation 85% and market waste steamed 15% feed formulation 80% and market waste is steamed 20%. The variables observed in the study were feed consumption, conversion and the value of income over feed cost. The research showed that the best feed consumption as 85% formulated feed and added with 15% boiled market waste. This feed was feeded 123,475 g/each/day. The best conversion was the lowest conversion value using 85% formulated feed plus 15% dried market waste and found in the treatment of P1 (4.52 g). The best treatment of Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC) was 85% formulated feed and added with 15% market waste is found in treatment of P1 (24,300 Rupiah).

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of a combination of feed protein levels and threonine, namely feed formulations with crude protein (PK) levels of 19%, 18%, and 17% combined with the addition of the amino acid threonine 100%, 110%, and 120%. The research used a Completely Randomized Design Method repeated three times. The parameters measured in this study were production performance (feed consumption, body weight gain, FCR, feed efficiency) and digestibility (metabolic energy and N retention). The combination of feed PK and threonine content did not significantly affect all parameters (p0.05). Feed PK significantly affected feed consumption, FCR value, and N retention value. The results showed that the highest body weight gain was in 80-day-old chickens produced in the 18% PK treatment 1264.43 gr/head and decreased in the 17% CP treatment. The highest feed efficiency occurred in the PK 18% treatment at 34.99%. The 18% protein at all threonine levels gave an AMEn value with an average value of 3418.15 Kcal/kg and N Retention with a value of 89.12%. Feed treatment with a protein content of 18% combined with 100%, 110%, and 120% threonine treatment gave the best results in body weight gain and feed efficiency.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the right marketing strategy to improve the Berkah Farm business. This research was carried out using a survey method which aims to find out which strategy is considered appropriate for developing a sheep farming business. This research was conducted at Berkah Farm, Junrejo, Batu City, East Java. Data was obtained through interviews with the management and employees of Berkah Farm. The data obtained were analyzed using SWOT analysis. Based on the research results, four alternative strategies were offered to develop the business, namely 1) maintaining production quality, 2) conducting disease prevention management training and 3) information technology, 4) maintaining relationships with buyers and marketing agencies

Abstract

Indonesia has the potential of muscovy duck resources with various characteristics and qualities that are spread throughout the region. muscovy duck has a larger body size than ducks but has a weakness in terms of lower egg production. To produce ducks with high body weight and egg production, Indonesian breeders often cross muscovy ducks with ducks. The use of a cross model with 4-crossbreeding is an efficient strategy, but genetic improvements need to be made to the two parents including the muscovy duck and the ducks itself because, in some crosses, sterile hybrid results will be obtained. The use of artificial insemination can be done to support the crossing of offspring in obtaining the desired production results. Therefore, a recording should be made to determine the quality of the offspring either using natural marriage or with the help of artificial insemination and its effectiveness on fertility in the next few periods. The use of marker-assisted selection (MAS) can help in the selection to get superior mutton traits and to find out the metabolic pathways related to the formation of the desired body weight and liver weight. Keywords:  genetic quality, 4-crossbreeding, muscovy duck, marker-assisted selection (MAS)
