Plumeria rubra L is processed into an ointment so that it is easy to use. The aim of this study was to determine the intensity of postoartum maternal mastitis pain in the use of 5% Plumeria rubra L ointment. The research design is true experiment pre post test control group design. Respondents were divided into 2 groups, namely intervention and control totaling 32 people. The intervention was given by 5% Plumeria rubra L ointment applied to the breasts of postpartum mothers who were given twice a day in the morning and evening for seven days with a size of 5 grams for each using. The result is the intensity of postpartum mastitis pain in the previous control group, most of the percentage was severe pain as much as 66.7% and after most of the presentations, namely moderate pain as much as 60.0%. The intensity of mastitis pain for postpartum mothers before using red frangipani ointment is mostly the percentage, namely severe pain 73.3% and the intensity of mastitis pain for postpartum mothers after using red frangipani ointment, most of the percentages are moderate pain 53.3%. The conclusion obtained is a p value of 0.004 which indicates a significant difference. To reduce mastitis pain, postpartum mothers can use red frangipani ointment for 7 days.

Abstract

Abstract

Breast milk is the best nutrient to reduce the pain in nursing mothers and death in infants. However, for nursing mothers, too little milk volume is the cause of problems occurring during the breastfeeding process. Thus, mothers who breastfeed should consume foods that can increase the breast milk volume. One food frequently consumed by mothers to increase breast milk is honey. In fact, natural honey is challenging to discover, and the price is also high which makes it as an obstacle. A more economical alternative is required, one of which is black cumin. It is easy to obtain and the price is also affordable. Black cumin also contains galactagogue to increase prolactin that influences breast milk production. The objective of this study is to identify the effect of black cumin on the volume of breast milk. The study was a randomized controlled trial involving 60 breastfeeding mothers divided into intervention groups and control groups. The intervention group was provided 15 grams of black cumin brewed with 1000C boiling water as much as 200 ml, and the control group was assigned 15 grams of pure honey brewed boiling 1000C as much as 200 ml. Intervention and control were administered on the second day to the day of completion after giving birth. They were measuring instruments which accustomed to measure breast milk pumps. Bivariate analysis employing the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests presented a significant difference between the volume of breast milk (p = 0.001) of the control and intervention groups. This study recommends the application of black cumin as a strategy to increase the volume of breast milk in nursing mothers.

Abstract

After bleeding, hypertension is the second leading cause of maternal death.  Hypertension is caused by a combination of factors, including increased stress and a low level of albumin. All of these changes will cause complications and necessitate long-term medication therapy. As a result, complementary therapies such as family roles and yoga are required. Many people are unfamiliar with yoga movements, so this study provides innovation by incorporating yoga into a smartphone application. The objective of the study is to determine the differences in the implementation of the Go-Yoga smartphone application and the role of the family in pregnant women in the III trimester on blood pressure and albumin levels. This type of research is quasi-experimental involving 60 pregnant women in the third trimester. In Group I, 20 pregnant women practiced yoga with books; in Group II, 20 pregnant women exercised yoga with the Go-Yoga app without their families; and in Group III, 20 pregnant women practiced yoga with their families. The study's results revealed significant blood pressure, with the third group having the highest average (p = 0.000 1). Pregnant women who utilize the Go-Yoga app with their families have lower blood pressure than other groups. Furthermore, pregnant women who employ the Go-Yoga app with their families have higher albumin levels than other groups. Therefore, this study suggests employing the Go-Yoga application with the family prevents hypertension in pregnancy.
