Abstract

The objective of this study was to explore the effect of thallus Gracillaria sp. immersion in Ground fertilizer with the addition of an Atonic growth regulator on spore release and attachment and to determine the best dose of the Grund fertilizer with the same addition of growth regulator mentioned previously. From April to June, 2021, this research was conducted at Fisheries Center for Brackish Water Aquaculture/BalaiPerikananBudidaya Air Payau (BPBAP) Takalar. Further, it employed an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications, i.e., Treatment A SWW (Sterile Seawater), B (1% Ground + 0.2 Atonic), C (2% Ground + 0.2 Atonic), and D (3% Ground + 0.2 Atonic). The results of the ANOVA showed that the use of Ground fertilizer + Atonic growth regulator significantly influenced spore release at the significance level of 5% (sig. value < 0.05). Meanwhile, there was no significant difference in spore attachment at the significance level of 5% (sig. value > 0.05). The best dose from the spore release and attachment was in treatment C (2% Ground + 0.2 Atonic). Keywords: Gracilariasp, Ground Media, Atonic Growth Regulator, Spore Release and Attachment.

Abstract

This studyiaims to determini the effectiof the combination of fermented tufo dregs and rice bram on the growth of silkwormibiomass. This researchiwas conductedifrom May to Julyi2022. Theimethod used was am experimental method with a completelyirandomized designi(CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatmentsiin this studyiwere reatment A (Control), B (Combination of 50% tufo dregs and 50% rice bran), C (Combination of 75% tufo dregs and 25% rice bran), D (Combination of 25% tofu dregs and rice bran 75%),Using gutters with a size of i80 cm xi10 cm xi12 cm.i10 grams container, the test materials used were organic tufo dregs and rice bran fermeted with EM4 (Effective Microoganim-4) prebiotic.iThe results of ithe ANOVA testianalysis showed that population growth and silkworm biomass using a combination of tofu dregs fermentation and rice bran had isignificantieffecti(P>0.05) with itheibest resultsiin treatmentiD, which was 7169 induviduals and absolute biomass in D, which was 21,02 (grams) Water iquality iduring the study was in the standard range for silkworm growth.

Abstract

The cultivation of tubifex worms (Tubifex sp) traditionally utilizes nearly 100% organic materials as the growing medium; however, this approach has not yielded optimal biomass compared to the use of fermented organic materials. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of fermented media in enhancing the population density and biomass of tubifex worms. The study employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications. The treatments consisted of different combinations of fermented organic materials, specifically cow manure and tofu waste, with varying proportions in each treatment. Measurements of population density and biomass were conducted after a specified rearing period. The cultivation was carried out in locations proximate to water sources to ensure optimal environmental conditions. The findings indicated that the use of combined fermented organic materials significantly affected the population density and biomass of tubifex worms (Tubifex sp). Treatment A demonstrated the highest population density and biomass, reaching 44.675 grams. These results suggest that fermented media provide a more conducive environment for the growth and reproduction of tubifex worms compared to non-fermented media. The application of fermented media composed of cow manure and tofu waste effectively enhances the population density and biomass of tubifex worms (Tubifex sp). Additionally, conducting cultivation near reliable water sources is crucial for supporting optimal worm growth. Future cultivation practices are recommended to incorporate fermented media and ensure adequate water availability to achieve maximum yield.

Abstract

The demand for ornamental fish is increasing every year, one of the most popular ornamental fish is comet fish. Feed is a very important factor in supporting the quality of comet fish produced. In terms of improving the color quality of comet fish, the feed given must contain karatonoid as a color-forming content of comet fish. Moringa leaves are one of the ingredients that contain karatoneids and are an alternative pigmentation factor for ornamental fish. Feeding dosage is also a factor that needs to be considered in the maintenance of comet fish. Feed raw materials that have been formulated are first weighed one by one to match the feed formulation that has been determined. This study was conducted for 42 days by measuring the growth and brightness of fish color once a week. Feeding was carried out 3 times a day, namely in the morning, afternoon, and evening with a dose of feeding in each treatment of 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. This study used a complete randomized design. The results showed that the average change in fish body length during the observation of each treatment experienced an increase during maintenance, where the highest treatment was in treatment D by 1.69 cm. Observation of absolute weight is a parameter observed to determine the effect of feed containing moringa flour on comet fish. The highest average absolute weight growth rate at the end of the study was in treatment D amounting to 2.63 gr.
