Abstract

Recently, the fatty acid ethyl ester has been synthesized in place of fatty acid methyl ester since ethanol has been more renewable. In this research, oleic acid ethyl ester (OAEE) was synthesized using germinated jatropha seeds (Jatropha curcas.L) and rice bran (Oryza sativa) as source of lipase. The objective of the research was to optimize the synthesis conditions using Response Surface Methodology. Factors, such as crude enzyme concentration, molar ratio of oleic acid to ethanol, and the reaction time, were evaluated. The results show that lipase from germinated jatropha seeds had the hydrolitic and esterifi cation activity about 6.73 U/g and 298.07 U/g, respectively. Lipase from rice bran had the hydrolitic and esterifi cation activity about 10.57 U/g and 324.03 U/g, respectively. The optimum conditions of esterifi cation reaction using germinated jatropha seed lipase as biocatalyst were crude enzyme concentration of 0.31 g/ml, molar ratio of oleic acid to ethanol of 1 : 1.81, and reaction time of 50.9 min. The optimum conditions of esterifi cation reaction using rice bran lipase were crude enzyme concentration of 0.29 g/ml, molar ratio of oleic acid to ethanol of 1 : 2.05, and reaction time of 58.61 min. The obtained amounts of OAEE were 810.77 μmole and 626.92 μmole for lipases from rice bran and germinated jatropha seed, respectively.

Abstract

Abstract

The increasingly intense competition in higher education services is a major concern for universities to survive. One of the strategies universities can do to survive is the formation of student E-Loyalty through increasing student E-Service Quality and E-Satisfaction. This study aims to examine the effect of E-Service Quality on student E-Satisfaction, the effect of E-Satisfaction on student loyalty and the effect of E-Service Quality on student E-Loyalty mediated by student E-Satisfaction. In addition, the results showed that E-Service Quality affects student E-Loyalty which is mediated by student E-Satisfaction. The results of this research prove that the model of forming student E-Loyalty can be achieved through student E-Service Quality can be achieved through E-Service Quality and E-Satisfaction of students of the Ahmad Dahlan University Faculty of Economics and Business Management Study Program. The sample was determined by convenience sampling and purposive sampling methods. Data collection is done by giving a list of questions to respondents containing E-Service Quality, student E-Satisfaction and student E-Loyalty. The analytical tool used is Partial Least Square (PLS). Keywords : E-Service Quality, E-Satisfaction, E-Loyalty

Abstract

Consumer behavior in purchasing products can be influenced by various internal and external factors. Both these factors can encourage individuals to purchase a product suddenly or unplanned in advance. The factors that allegedly influence consumers’ impulse buying are celebrity endorsements and customer loyalty. This study analyzes the effect of celebrity endorsements on impulse buying behavior by mediating customer loyalty. This research used Lazada's e-commerce service in Yogyakarta with a total of 80 respondents. The data obtained were then processed using the Smart PLS application in the form of validity, reliability, and direct and indirect hypothesis tests. Based on the results of the data processing, it can be concluded that the four research hypotheses are accepted. Celebrity endorsements have been shown to have a positive effect on impulse buying behavior, celebrity endorsements have been shown to have a positive effect on customer loyalty, customer loyalty has a positive effect on impulse buying behavior, and customer loyalty has been shown to mediate celebrity endorsement relationships and impulse buying behavior.

Abstract

Purpose-This study aims to determine the effect of green purchasing, green manufacturing, and eco-design on operational performance. By effectively managing these three environmentally friendly practices, it is hoped that the operational performance of batik micro, small, and medium enterprises can improve significantly. Methodology-The population in this study was micro, small, and medium enterprises producing batik in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique with 122 respondents. The sample was distributed online and offline to micro, small, and medium enterprises producing batik in Yogyakarta. Respondent data were tested using Smart PLS 4.0 with a structural equation model approach covering validity testing, reliability testing, multicollinearity evaluation, and hypothesis testing. Findings-This study found that green purchasing and eco design have a positive impact on operational performance. Meanwhile, green manufacturing does not have a positive impact on operational performance. This condition occurs because most batik micro, small, and medium enterprises in Yogyakarta still face limitations in capital, technology, and resources, so that the manufacturing process cannot be implemented optimally. Research Limitations-This study has limitations due to the small number of respondents and the scope of the research, which focuses on batik micro, small, and medium enterprises in Yogyakarta, so the findings do not represent the green practices of batik micro, small, and medium enterprises in other regions. This research can be expanded to other regions to obtain different findings. Further research can add variables to the research model to predict operational performance. Novelty-This study analyzes the impact of environmentally friendly purchasing, environmentally friendly manufacturing, and environmentally friendly design on the operational performance of batik micro, small, and medium enterprises, which has rarely been researched. The results show the limitations of micro, small, and medium enterprises in implementing environmentally friendly manufacturing, while the effectiveness of operational performance is greatly influenced by the readiness and characteristics of the industrial sector.
