Abstract

Nowadays, cell phones or mobile phones have become a multipurpose tool. The developers of mobile phone/smartphone have added an assortment of features and applications that are very useful for the users. Nokia provides the opportunity for application developers by providing developers such as Qt SDK. Application developers can use Qt SDK to design and create applications that can run on mobile phones based on Symbian. In this research Qt SDK was used to create applications for monitoring a room using a camera and display it on a Symbian-based smartphone. Research also used webcam7 software to monitor the camera and display it on PC screen. The Symbian used was Nokia E71. The camera used webcam M-Tech camera connected to the PC via USB cable, and internal webcam. Virtual routers were used to make the laptop into an access point. Virtual routers created using the netsh command was typed at the command prompt laptop. Symbian smartphone was connected to the wifi on the laptop. By accessing the IP of the laptop, display on a webcam has successfully been seen through a symbian smartphone monitoring application created using Qt SDK.

Abstract

Lake Dendam is never a loticwaters with lots of human activities around the area. The high human activity around the waters has an impact on the quality of the waters and the organisms in the vicinity. This observation was carried out to obtain an up-to-date picture of water quality and micro-algae biodiversity in Revenge Lake for developing sustainable management strategies. Tests were carried out on the chemical and physical quality of the waters, and the biodiversity of microalgae which were then processed into an area management strategy. The results of the water quality test showed slightly polluted conditions with values of dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solid (TSS), and phosphate which were still outside the water quality standards. However, conditions that can still be tolerated are peat waters. The microalgae biodiversity test showed the dominance and diversity of microalgae genera in the waters. The dominant genus is Nitzchia sp. From these results obtained six sustainable management strategies for Revenge Lake.   Keywords : Biodiversity, Dendam Lake, microalgae, water quality

Abstract

Global warming is a phenomenon caused by increased emissions of greenhouse gases in atmosphere, namelycarbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous (N2O) oxide. The greenhouse gas that has a big influence on rising air temperatures at the earth's surface is carbon dioxide (CO2),whose concentration increases every year. Trees in the green open space area in theBengkulu Province Government Offices have an important role in reducing carbon emissions. This research aimed to determine the carbon stored in trees and poles in Bengkulu Province Office Parks. The research was conducted from May to July 2017 using sensus method. The carbon storage was estimated using allometric models. The research results showed that the total stored carbon was 123.38 tons/ha, while the total biomass was 457.97 tons. The plant species with the highest carbon storage were Tanjung (21.69 tons/ha), Mahogany (21.25 tons/ha), and Angsana (20.66 tons/ha). The location with the highest carbon storage was the Bengkulu Governor's Office, with a total carbon of 44.56 tons/ha and 86 individual trees.. Keywords: Allometric models, carbon reserves, global warming, green open spaces, governmental office complex.

Abstract

Employee appraisal is an important factor in the development of a company effectively and efficiently because employee appraisal is one of many indicators in measuring the background of human resources system in the company. Determining the right indicators of human resources can motivate better employee performance. To support this kind of system, a software engineering with Performance Indicator system is needed and data collection techniques by direct observation and data documentation are needed. Application of engineering Key Performance Indicator software for employee performance appraisal using the Simple Additive Weighting method can result in the efficiency of the assessment process in determining the quality of an employee's performance. as well as assisting employees in knowing the results of performance evaluation, and making it easier for supervisors to obtain reports on sales performance ratings so that superiors can and make determine the amount of salary, commision and bonus increases more precisely and efficiently.

Abstract

Forest opening and fragmentation may affect the composition of vegetation by permitting the expansion or domination of one or two species in the area. This study found that , an invasive climbing creeping Merremia peltata/species, has dominated some area of Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (BBSNP). Domination of this species was favoured by forest fragmentation, indicated by the significantly higher number of individuals of in the open M. peltataarea than in intact forest. The ecophysiological characters of support the ability of this species to become a M. peltatastrong invader. As the expansion of this species may negatively affect the biodiversity and vegetation health, the application of appropriate ecological approaches to control the domination of in the conservation area is M. peltatanecessary.
