Abstract

Psikologi pendidikan merupakan salah satu mata kuliah wajib pada Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab Universitas Al-Falah As-Sunniyah kencong Jember. Salah satu materi yang dipelajari dalam psikologi pendidikan yaitu tentang anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK). Pada penelitian ini lebih banyak mengulas tentang anak dengan bakat istimewa dan cerdas istimewa (CIBI). Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu studi literatur, metode diskusi kelompok dan wawancara. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini ialah membahas lebih lanjut mengenai klasifikasi ABK terkait perbedaan pandangan mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Arab semester tiga mengenai permasalahan “apakah anak CIBI masuk kedalam kategori anak berkebutuhan khusus atau tidak ?”. Penelitian ini juga disertai dengan penangan lebih lanjut pada anak dengan bakat istimewa dan cerdas istimewa (CIBI) dalam lingkup sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) dan sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini, anak dengan tingkat kecerdasan istimewa dan bakat istimewa termasuk golongan anak berkebutuhan khusus karena memerlukan penanganan berbeda.

Abstract

This research was conducted to observe students' error in working on problems proving the binomial theorem on the symmetric properties of binomial coefficients. This type of research is qualitative research. This research uses a test method, namely by working on questions followed by interviews. This research involved students from the Tadris Mathematics Study Program at Al Falah As Sunniyah Kencong Jember University in the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year with a total of 17 students. The 17 students were grouped into 3 cognitive abilities, namely high, medium and low cognitive. The subjects of this research consisted of three students with each student representing each cognitive ability group. The results of the research show that the types of language interpretation errors are made by subjects with high and moderate cognitive abilities, namely not writing the correct sentences when drawing conclusions. Conceptual errors were made by subjects with medium and low cognitive abilities in the form of errors in the proof steps. Procedural errors were made by subjects with moderate and low cognitive abilities, namely not having carried out complete calculations when applying the theorem in numerical form. Technical errors were made by subjects with low cognitive abilities, namely writing the same steps repeatedly. Errors in drawing conclusions were made by subjects with high, medium and low cognitive abilities. The three subjects considered the verification process to be complete. All errors are caused by a lack of understanding of the concept, carelessness in the proof process and not being careful in reading the questions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low creative thinking skills of students and there are still many teachers who have difficulty in developing learning tools that are in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum learning. The purpose of this research is to develop open ended based mathematics learning tools to improve the creative thinking skills of grade VIII students on SPLDV material that is practical, valid and effective. The device development model chosen in this research is the Thiagarajan, Semmel & Semmel (4-D) model. This model consists of four stages, namely defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The learning tools developed in this research are in the form of lesson plans, student activity sheets and creative thinking skills tests. The research instruments used are in the form of device validation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, student activity observation sheets and student response questionnaires. From the results of the validation test data analysis, the average percentage score for: (1) lesson plas which is 4.60 with a valid category, (2) Student Activity Sheet which is 4.57 with a valid category, (3) Creative Thinking Ability Test which is 4.74 with a valid category. The observation results of the implementation of learning devices showed an average result of 83.63% in the good category. The overall average of student activity is 83% which is classified as an active category. The results of the creative thinking ability test showed that the percentage of classical completeness was 80%. And students' response to the developed learning tools is positive. Thus, the open ended based learning tools developed are valid, practical and effective to improve the creative thinking ability of students in grade VIII.
