Abstract

The important role of Egypt in the Resurrection of the Islamic world is did not happen suddenly, but he had to go through a dark history, that was colonialized by Napoleon Bonaparte. Even though Napoleon ruled Egypt for three years, but his presence woke the Egyptian consciousness to progress and change. This paper aims to uncover the changes that occurred in Egypt in the fields of education, issues, economy, culture, and politics post-Napoleon invasion. From this, a main problem can be formulated as follows; How was the change in education, religion, social, economy, culture, and politics post-Napoleon invasion? This paper uses the liberary research method, which is combined with the model of writing history to reveal the relationship between historical facts with changes that occured. The important information obtained from this post-Napoleon study include; (1) in the field of education raises awareness of the underdevelopment of science, the development of various educational infrastructure, recognizing the importance of freedom and independence in the development of science; (2) Encouraging changes in perspectives and models of religion towards a more rational and solutions to the changing times; (3) in the social and cultural sphere the idea of equality (legalite) and equality between rulers and people was born and the development of war technology, weapons and military training adopted from France; (4) in the political field gave rise to the idea of nationalism and republican government; and (5) in the economic field to encourage the development of industrialization and agrarian reform.

Abstract

Quranic exegesis has a special place in the development of Islamic intellectual tradition and civilization at large. As the main source of Islamic teaching, for centuries Muslims have attempted to understand the various meanings of the Qur’an in order to be in line with the current needs of the society through the process of contextualization. In this article, the author presents and explains the way in which Abdullah Saeed, a professor in Islamic studies from the the University of Melbourne, Australia, contextualize the meaning of the Quran. In particular, this article analyzes some methodological aspects proposed by Saeed in the qontextualization of the Qur’an: 1) identifying the world of the text; 2) analyzing text critically; 3) connecting the text to the early Islamic community as the first receivers; and 4) relating the text to the current needs of society. Abstract

Gerakan tangan ketika takbir dalam shalat secara faktual berbeda-beda. Ada yang mengangkat tangan di depan dada ada juga yang mengangkat tangan diantara telinga dan bahu. Semua gerakan tersebut disandarkan pada hadis. Dalam memahami hadis-hadis yang terlihat bertentangan ada beberapa metode yang digunakan, antara lain tarjih, nasakh, jam’u wa tawfiq, dan tasaqut. Dalam permasalahan ini metode yang paling sesuai adalah al-jam’u wa tawfiq. Berdasarkan dari hal itulah maka formula masalah yang akan dijawab adalah bagaimana memahami hadis mengenai posisi tangan ketika takbir dalam shalat dengan menggunakan metode al-jam’u wa tawfiq? Artikel ini bertujuan memahami hadis tentang mengangkat tangan ketika shalat dengan metode al-jam’u wa tawfiq. Penelitian ini termasuk studi hadis tematik dengan metode al-jam’u wa tawfiq. Adapun langkah-langkahnya sebagai berikut: Pertama, mengumpulkan semua hadis terkait tema. Kedua, menentukan kualitas hadis-hadis. Ketiga, membahas persoalan kebahasaan. Keempat, menerapkan prinsip al-jam’u wa tawfiq dalam memahami hadis-hadis tersebut. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini ada dua: Pertama, hadis-hadis yang membahas mengenai gerakan tangan ketika takbir dalam shalat baik dari jalur Ibnu ‘Umar dan Wāil semuanya sahih dan sama-sama kuat. Kedua, berdasarkan pendekatan al-jam’u wa tawfiq maka gerakan tangan ketika takbir dalam shalat yang sesuai adalah posisi tangan ketika takbir berada di atas bahu dengan ibu jari yang dekat dengan telinga.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the Theory of the Hierarchy of Islamic Legal Norms within the Manhaj Tarjih of Muhammadiyah as an epistemological framework for thematic studies of hadiths related to social justice. Focusing on a case study of the Muhammadiyah Tarjih Council's fatwa regarding responses to greetings from non-Muslims, the research aims to critically reassess the normative foundation and sociocultural context of the fatwa through a hierarchical approach to Islamic legal norms. Utilizing a qualitative library-based method and thematic analysis, the study engages with a range of relevant primary and secondary sources. The findings suggest that the hierarchical model offers a more flexible and contextually grounded interpretation of the hadith, especially when core Islamic values, such as justice (al-ʿadl), public welfare (al-maṣlaḥah), and social harmony, are prioritized. The study recommends a more contextual, inclusive, and dialogical fatwa methodology to enhance social cohesion in multicultural societies and to align Islamic legal thought with contemporary ethical imperatives.

Abstract

Abstrak Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru pendidikan Islam di Rasmisart School, Songkhla, Thailand—sekolah komunitas Muslim minoritas—melalui pelatihan penggunaan software hadis dan media pembelajaran berbasis kecerdasan buatan (AI). Kegiatan ini menjawab dua tantangan utama, yaitu rendahnya literasi digital keislaman dan keterbatasan keterampilan teknologi pedagogis para guru. Melalui model pelatihan hibrida (daring dan luring), para guru diperkenalkan dengan alat digital seperti Jawami’ al-Kalim, Maktabah Syamilah, ChatGPT, dan Fliki. Dengan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan kontekstual, pelatihan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan aspek kognitif dan keterampilan teknis, tetapi juga membentuk pola pikir transformatif dalam integrasi teknologi ke dalam pembelajaran Islam. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam penggunaan software, pemanfaatan AI dalam materi ajar, serta kepercayaan diri guru. Program ini juga berkontribusi pada penguatan institusional, pemberdayaan komunitas, dan internasionalisasi Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. Model ini memiliki potensi replikasi dan keberlanjutan di lingkungan pendidikan Islam minoritas lainnya di Asia Tenggara. Kata kunci: Software hadis; kecerdasan buatan (AI); Rasmisart School. AbstractThis Community Engagement Program aims to enhance the capacity of Islamic education teachers at Rasmisart School in Songkhla, Thailand—a minority Muslim community school—through training in the use of hadith software and artificial intelligence (AI)–based learning media. The program addresses two major challenges: the low level of digital Islamic literacy and the limited pedagogical technology skills among teachers. Through a hybrid training model (online and offline), teachers were introduced to digital tools such as Jawāmiʿ al-Kalim, Maktabah Syāmilah, ChatGPT, and Fliki. Employing project-based and contextual learning approaches, the training not only improved cognitive and technical competencies but also fostered a transformative mindset regarding the integration of technology into Islamic education. Evaluation results indicate significant improvements in software utilization, the application of AI in instructional materials, and teachers’ confidence. The program further contributes to institutional strengthening, community empowerment, and the internationalization efforts of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. This model also holds potential for replication and sustainability in other minority Islamic educational settings across Southeast Asia. Keywords: hadith software; artificial intelligence (AI); Rasmisart School.
