Abstract

AbstractThe ability to think creatively plays important role in students’self development in the 21st century. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the IDEAL Problem Solving learning model based on open-ended questions on students' creative thinking abilities. This study is a quantitative quasi-experimental study with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of this research were class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura which consisted of 64 students. Clusters random sampling was used as the sampling method. Data collection was carried out using test techniques in the form of pretest and posttest as well as non-test techniques in the form of observation and documentation. Analysis of the research data was carried out by normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test and n-Gain test with the help of SPSS 23. The hypothesis test with the independent sample t-test showed the number 0.000, which means H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, meaning that the IDEAL Problem Solving learning model is effective increasing student’s creative thinking. Skills. The n-gain test in the experimental class was 0,56 (effective enough), while in the control class the n-gain percentage was 0,08 (ineffective) where the experimental class used the IDEAL Problem Solving model so that it can be concluded that the IDEAL Problem Solving Model quite effective in improving the creative thinking skills of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura in the subject matter of Science Objects and Its Observations.Keywords: Learning Model, IDEAL Problem Solving, Creative ThinkingKemampuan berpikir kreatif berperan penting dalam pengembangan diri siswa pada abaf 21. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran IDEAL Problem Solving berbasis soal open-ended terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura yang teridiri dari 64 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik tes berupa pre-test dan post-test dan teknik non-test berupa observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan dengan uji normalitas, uji homogentitas, uji independent sample t-test dan uji n-Gain dengan bantuan SPSS 23. Uji hipotesis dengan independent sample t-test sebesar 0,000 yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, artinya model pembelajaran IDEAL Problem Solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa.  Uji n-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,56 (cukup efektif), sedangkan kelas kontrol persentase n-gain sebesar 0,08 (tidak efektif) dimana kelas eksperimen menggunakan model IDEAL Problem Solving sehingga memberikan keismpulan bahwa Model IDEAL Problem Solving cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura pada materi Objek IPA dan Pengamatannya.

Abstract

Kompetensi pedagogik yang dimiliki guru dalam merancang pembelajaran dapat menciptakan pembelajaran IPA yang optimal. Pembelajaran hendaknya sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik yang memuat keterampilan communication, colaboration, critical thinking and problem solving, dan creativity and inovation. Salah satu pendekatan yang memfasilitasi pembelajaran IPA adalah pendekatan STEM. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM dapat dikreasikan menggunakan kearifan lokal siswa (Etno-STEM). Pembelajaran di sekolah selama ini telah mengacu pada kurikulum 2013 namun masih perlu peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa. Aktivitas pembelajaran yang dilakukan hendaknya divariasikan dengan kearifan lokal untuk meningkatkan keterampilan abad 21 siswa. Pengabdian dilakukan untuk mendampingi guru mitra MGMP dalam merancang pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendampingan. Peserta meliputi guru sekolah mitra MGMP. Materi yang sampaikan mengenai literasi sains serta cara menyusun instrumen penilaian. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Pengambidan dalam bentuk pendampingan membantu guru dalam perangkat LKPD dam instrumen penilaian secara mandiri. Hasil kegiatan diperoleh peningkatan ketrampilan guru dalam menyusun perangkat yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa dengan mengintegrasikan keterampilan abad 21.

Abstract

The publication trend related to reading comprehension studies in the last decade has sharply grown. Nevertheless, studies offering comprehensive bibliometric and bibliographic reviews related to reading comprehension studies have not been conducted nor also found in the journal or conference proceeding. The purpose of this study is to present a bibliographic and bibliometric review of the numerous documents studying reading comprehension skills. A bibliometric analysis was performed to carry out this study whereby 1,681 eligible documents from the Scopus database published from 2013 to 2022 were used as research materials. Results showed that in 2013-2022, the publication trend of reading comprehension studies slightly increased while the citation trend on the documents regarding reading comprehension skills tended to fall sharply. Additionally, at least there were several major emerging themes of reading comprehension studies such as methodology, language, educational level, reading disability, reading intervention, reading comprehension predictor, and moderating factor of reading comprehension. This study implies that researchers in the field of Indonesian language education can focus on the utilization of Indonesian textbooks in investigating learners’ reading comprehension skills, develop innovative and effective reading interventions to enhance learners’ reading comprehension skills, and explore some other moderating factors of reading comprehension skills such as ethnicity, culture, geographical location, and textbook topic.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis adalah keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang diperlukan guna pengembangan keterampilan di abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) berbasis mind map dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VII pada salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Kudus. Data diperoleh dari observasi dan wawancara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek terdiri dari 34 siswa kelas VII F, sumber data berasal dari guru dan siswa serta Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Pada pratindakan mendapatkan ketuntasan klasikal 14,7% pada siklus I 5,8% dan pada siklus II 85,29%. Sedangkan untuk nilai per aspek pada siklus I memperoleh Aspek elementary clarification memperoleh persentase tertinggi dengan 54,7% kemudian aspek basic support memperoleh 47,6%, aspek advance clarification 35,8%, inference 28,8%, dan persentase dengan nilai terendah yaitu pada aspek strategies and tactics sebanyak 15,8% sedangkan pada siklus II memperoleh niilai aspek elementary clarification memperoleh persentase tertinggi dengan 95,8% kemudian aspek basic support memperoleh 94,4%, aspek advance clarification 88,2%, inference 79,4%, dan persentase dengan nilai terendah yaitu pada aspek strategies and tactics sebanyak 76,4%. Penerapan model in dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan tercapainya ketuntasan klasikal lebih dari 70% dan didapatkan perolehan nilai per aspek yaitu dengan tercapainya target kenaikan 20% pada siklus I dan siklus IICritical thinking is a high-level thinking skill needed for the development of skills in the 21st century. This study aims to determine whether the cooperative learning model of the Think Talk Write (TTW) type based on mind maps can improve the critical thinking skills of class VII students at one of the junior high schools in Kudus. Data were obtained from observation and interviews. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. The subjects consisted of 34 class VII F students, data sources came from teachers and students and data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. In the pre-action, classical completeness was 14.7% in cycle I 5.8% and in cycle II 85.29%. Meanwhile, for the value per aspect in cycle I, the elementary clarification aspect obtained the highest percentage with 54.7%, then the basic support aspect obtained 47.6%, the advance clarification aspect 35.8%, inference 28.8%, and the percentage with the lowest value was in the strategies and tactics aspect as much as 15.8% while in cycle II, the elementary clarification aspect obtained the highest percentage with 95.8%, then the basic support aspect obtained 94.4%, the advance clarification aspect 88.2%, inference 79.4%, and the percentage with the lowest value was in the strategies and tactics aspect as much as 76.4%. The application of this model can improve critical thinking skills by achieving classical completeness of more than 70% and obtaining the value per aspect, namely by achieving the target increase of 20% in cycles I and II.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran terintegrasi STEM dengan teknik ecoprint pada materi zat dan perubahannya yang layak dan praktis serta mengetahui keefektifannya untuk meningkatkan minat belajar peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Data penelitian diperoleh dari angket penilaian ahli materi, ahli media, ahli bahasa, reviewer, angket uji coba peserta didik, dan angket minat belajar peserta didik. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 22 Surakarta. Teknik validasi multimedia pembelajaran menggunakan teknik uji Gregory. Teknik analisis data kelayakan dan kepraktisan multimedia pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menghitung skor total dari aspek yang dinilai sedangkan data efektivitas multimedia pembelajaran dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t test dan uji normalized gain. Penelitian ini menghasilkan produk multimedia pembelajaran dengan skor penilaian kelayakan ahli materi 0,8, ahli media 1,0, ahli bahasa 1,0, serta penilaian reviewer 1,0. Hasil uji coba kepraktisan multimedia menunjukkan skor rata – rata 67,59 dengan kriteria baik. Hasil uji coba efektivitas multimedia menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata – rata minat belajar peserta didik sebesar 0,62 dengan kriteria sedang. Pengembangan multimedia terintegrasi STEM dengan teknik ecoprint pada materi zat dan perubahannya menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran yang layak dan praktis digunakan untuk pembelajaran serta berpengaruh untuk meningkatan minat belajar peserta didik.This research aims to produce STEM integrated learning multimedia using ecoprint techniques on substances and their changes that are feasible and practical and to determine its effectiveness in increasing students' interest in learning. The research population was all students in class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Surakarta. The learning multimedia validation technique uses the Gregory test technique. The data analysis technique for the feasibility and practicality of learning multimedia is carried out by calculating the total score of the aspects assessed, while data on the effectiveness of learning multimedia is analyzed using the paired sample t test and the normalized gain test. This research produced a learning multimedia product with a total feasibility assessment score of 0.8 for material experts, 1.0 for media experts, 1.0 for language experts, and 1.0 for reviewers. The results of the multimedia practicality trial showed an average score of 67.59 with good criteria. The results of the multimedia effectiveness trial showed that there was an average difference in students' learning interest of 0.62 with medium criteria. The development of STEM-integrated multimedia with ecoprint techniques on substance materials and their changes produces learning multimedia that is feasible and practical to use for learning and has the effect of increasing students' interest in learning.

Abstract

The low scientific literacy of students needs to be improved through the teaching materials used in learning. Teaching materials can be combined with various learning models including Ethno-STEM. The research aims to develop and test the feasibility of a module on vibrations and waves material in empowering science literacy ability of class VII students. The type of research carried out is development research using the 4D method including the define, design and develop stages. In this article, the research stage is written only up to the development stage. In the define stage, an analysis of gaps occurring in the field is carried out to define what is needed in the development process. In the design stage, the researcher prepares a product design according to the needs that have been summarized in the define stage. In the development stage, researchers began to develop modules according to needs and then carried out feasibility tests. Validation was carried out on aspects of material, media, language and learning. The overall module validation results obtained were 0.91 with valid criteria. Therefore, it can be concluded that the vibrations and waves module is effective to improve students' science literacy ability

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on Adversity Quotient moderated by Self Efficacy, (2) determine the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on Adversity Quotient, (3) determine the effect of Self Efficacy on Adversity Quotient. This study is a quantitative study with a qualitative approach one group post-test design. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling, with a sample size of 64 students. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The validity test technique used was outer model analysis, while data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of this study are as follows. First, the implementation of PBL has a significant positive effect on students' AQ. Second, Self Efficacy is proven to moderate the effect of PBL on AQ, with students who have high Self-efficacy showing a more significant increase in AQ. Third, the implementation of PBL in science learning, especially in water pollution material, can improve students skills in facing learning challenges more effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning video usage to support online learning in basic chemistry course during the COVID-19 pandemic. The subjects in this study were 60 students from the 1st semester of the FKIP UNS Undergraduate Science Education Study Program who took basic chemistry course. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2020 or 2021 academic year. This research was conducted online and utilized the SPADA platform for viewing learning video. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The use of questionnaires aims to obtain an overview of the effectiveness of learning video. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive with a score for each question, from 1 to 5. The results showed that the use of learning video during the COVID-19 pandemic could support online learning, namely obtaining an effectiveness percentage of 84% with a very good category. Therefore, learning video are effective in helping students understand the concepts that are being studied and motivating students to study online.

Abstract

The low level of student engagement and collaboration in group-based science learning, particularly on the abstract topic of ecosystems, underlies this study. Preliminary observations at three junior high schools in Majenang District, Indonesia revealed limited use of interactive learning media that supports collaboration among students, consistent with data showing that 75% of students had not reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) on ecosystem material. This study aims to develop the Jenga Collaboration with Combo Cards learning media and to examine its feasibility and effectiveness. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), limited to the Develop stage. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, user-trial questionnaires, and pretest-posttest instruments, then analyzed through product validation, reliability testing, item difficulty and discriminating power analysis, statistical testing, and N-Gain analysis. The results show that the learning media was rated Highly Feasible based on Expert Judgement, with feasibility percentages of 84.44% (media expert), 85.45% (content expert), and 85.83% (instructional design expert). The Paired Samples T-Test yielded t = -9.377 with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect between students' pretest (mean 44.29) and posttest (mean 70.00) scores. The mean N-Gain obtained was 0.47, categorized as Medium. These findings demonstrate that the Jenga Collaboration with Combo Cards learning media is feasible and effective for improving students' learning outcomes on ecosystem material in Grade VII.
