Abstract

The publication trend related to reading comprehension studies in the last decade has sharply grown. Nevertheless, studies offering comprehensive bibliometric and bibliographic reviews related to reading comprehension studies have not been conducted nor also found in the journal or conference proceeding. The purpose of this study is to present a bibliographic and bibliometric review of the numerous documents studying reading comprehension skills. A bibliometric analysis was performed to carry out this study whereby 1,681 eligible documents from the Scopus database published from 2013 to 2022 were used as research materials. Results showed that in 2013-2022, the publication trend of reading comprehension studies slightly increased while the citation trend on the documents regarding reading comprehension skills tended to fall sharply. Additionally, at least there were several major emerging themes of reading comprehension studies such as methodology, language, educational level, reading disability, reading intervention, reading comprehension predictor, and moderating factor of reading comprehension. This study implies that researchers in the field of Indonesian language education can focus on the utilization of Indonesian textbooks in investigating learners’ reading comprehension skills, develop innovative and effective reading interventions to enhance learners’ reading comprehension skills, and explore some other moderating factors of reading comprehension skills such as ethnicity, culture, geographical location, and textbook topic.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis adalah keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang diperlukan guna pengembangan keterampilan di abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) berbasis mind map dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VII pada salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Kudus. Data diperoleh dari observasi dan wawancara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek terdiri dari 34 siswa kelas VII F, sumber data berasal dari guru dan siswa serta Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Pada pratindakan mendapatkan ketuntasan klasikal 14,7% pada siklus I 5,8% dan pada siklus II 85,29%. Sedangkan untuk nilai per aspek pada siklus I memperoleh Aspek elementary clarification memperoleh persentase tertinggi dengan 54,7% kemudian aspek basic support memperoleh 47,6%, aspek advance clarification 35,8%, inference 28,8%, dan persentase dengan nilai terendah yaitu pada aspek strategies and tactics sebanyak 15,8% sedangkan pada siklus II memperoleh niilai aspek elementary clarification memperoleh persentase tertinggi dengan 95,8% kemudian aspek basic support memperoleh 94,4%, aspek advance clarification 88,2%, inference 79,4%, dan persentase dengan nilai terendah yaitu pada aspek strategies and tactics sebanyak 76,4%. Penerapan model in dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan tercapainya ketuntasan klasikal lebih dari 70% dan didapatkan perolehan nilai per aspek yaitu dengan tercapainya target kenaikan 20% pada siklus I dan siklus IICritical thinking is a high-level thinking skill needed for the development of skills in the 21st century. This study aims to determine whether the cooperative learning model of the Think Talk Write (TTW) type based on mind maps can improve the critical thinking skills of class VII students at one of the junior high schools in Kudus. Data were obtained from observation and interviews. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. The subjects consisted of 34 class VII F students, data sources came from teachers and students and data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. In the pre-action, classical completeness was 14.7% in cycle I 5.8% and in cycle II 85.29%. Meanwhile, for the value per aspect in cycle I, the elementary clarification aspect obtained the highest percentage with 54.7%, then the basic support aspect obtained 47.6%, the advance clarification aspect 35.8%, inference 28.8%, and the percentage with the lowest value was in the strategies and tactics aspect as much as 15.8% while in cycle II, the elementary clarification aspect obtained the highest percentage with 95.8%, then the basic support aspect obtained 94.4%, the advance clarification aspect 88.2%, inference 79.4%, and the percentage with the lowest value was in the strategies and tactics aspect as much as 76.4%. The application of this model can improve critical thinking skills by achieving classical completeness of more than 70% and obtaining the value per aspect, namely by achieving the target increase of 20% in cycles I and II.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran terintegrasi STEM dengan teknik ecoprint pada materi zat dan perubahannya yang layak dan praktis serta mengetahui keefektifannya untuk meningkatkan minat belajar peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Data penelitian diperoleh dari angket penilaian ahli materi, ahli media, ahli bahasa, reviewer, angket uji coba peserta didik, dan angket minat belajar peserta didik. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 22 Surakarta. Teknik validasi multimedia pembelajaran menggunakan teknik uji Gregory. Teknik analisis data kelayakan dan kepraktisan multimedia pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menghitung skor total dari aspek yang dinilai sedangkan data efektivitas multimedia pembelajaran dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t test dan uji normalized gain. Penelitian ini menghasilkan produk multimedia pembelajaran dengan skor penilaian kelayakan ahli materi 0,8, ahli media 1,0, ahli bahasa 1,0, serta penilaian reviewer 1,0. Hasil uji coba kepraktisan multimedia menunjukkan skor rata – rata 67,59 dengan kriteria baik. Hasil uji coba efektivitas multimedia menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata – rata minat belajar peserta didik sebesar 0,62 dengan kriteria sedang. Pengembangan multimedia terintegrasi STEM dengan teknik ecoprint pada materi zat dan perubahannya menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran yang layak dan praktis digunakan untuk pembelajaran serta berpengaruh untuk meningkatan minat belajar peserta didik.This research aims to produce STEM integrated learning multimedia using ecoprint techniques on substances and their changes that are feasible and practical and to determine its effectiveness in increasing students' interest in learning. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. Research data was obtained from assessment questionnaires from material experts, media experts, language experts, reviewers, student trial questionnaires, and student learning interest questionnaires. The research population was all students in class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Surakarta. The learning multimedia validation technique uses the Gregory test technique. The data analysis technique for the feasibility and practicality of learning multimedia is carried out by calculating the total score of the aspects assessed, while data on the effectiveness of learning multimedia is analyzed using the paired sample t test and the normalized gain test. This research produced a learning multimedia product with a total feasibility assessment score of 0.8 for material experts, 1.0 for media experts, 1.0 for language experts, and 1.0 for reviewers. The results of the multimedia practicality trial showed an average score of 67.59 with good criteria. The results of the multimedia effectiveness trial showed that there was an average difference in students' learning interest of 0.62 with medium criteria. The development of STEM-integrated multimedia with ecoprint techniques on substance materials and their changes produces learning multimedia that is feasible and practical to use for learning and has the effect of increasing students' interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning video usage to support online learning in basic chemistry course during the COVID-19 pandemic. The subjects in this study were 60 students from the 1st semester of the FKIP UNS Undergraduate Science Education Study Program who took basic chemistry course. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2020 or 2021 academic year. This research was conducted online and utilized the SPADA platform for viewing learning video. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The use of questionnaires aims to obtain an overview of the effectiveness of learning video. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive with a score for each question, from 1 to 5. The results showed that the use of learning video during the COVID-19 pandemic could support online learning, namely obtaining an effectiveness percentage of 84% with a very good category. Therefore, learning video are effective in helping students understand the concepts that are being studied and motivating students to study online.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the analysis of science process skills in textbooks of chemistry grade XI in SMA N 1 Teras, Boyolali. This research used the descriptive method. The instruments were developed based on 10 indicators of science process skills (observing, classifying, finding a conclusion, predicting, raising the question, hypothesizing, planning an experiment, manipulating materials, and equipment, Applying, and communicating). We analyzed 3 different chemistry textbooks that often used by teachers in teaching. The material analyzed in the book was solubility and solubility product concept in terms of concept explanation and student activity. The results of this research showed different science process skill criteria in 3 different chemistry textbooks. Book A appeared 50% of all aspects of science process skills, in Book B appeared 80% of all aspects of science process skills, and in Book C there was 40% of all aspects of the science process skills. The most common indicator in all books was observing (33.3%), followed by prediction (19.05%), classifying (11.90%), Applying (11.90% ), planning experiments (9.52%), manipulating materials and equipment (7.14%), finding conclusion (4.76%), communicating (2.38%). Asking the question and hypothesizing did not appear in textbooks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengetahuan ilmiah minuman tradisional ciu dan menganalisis potensi pengetahuan ilmiah minuman tradisional ciu sebagai kearifan lokal Desa Bekonang dalam pemberdayaan literasi sains siswa SMP. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data primer adalah produsen ciu yang berada di Desa Bekonang, Kecamatan Mojolaban, Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teknik pengumpulan data. Analisis data secara interaktif melalui: (1) pengumpulan data, (2) reduksi data, (3) penyajian data, dan (4) penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pembuatan ciu meliputi 7 tahap: (1) persiapan alat dan bahan; (2) pengenceran; (3) penambahan ragi; (4) fermentasi; (5) destilasi; (6) penyaringan hasil destilasi; dan (7) penampungan hasil destilasi. Setiap tahapan pada proses pembuatan ciu mengandung pengetahuan ilmiah IPA (aspek kimia, fisika, dan biologi). Pengetahuan ilmiah pada proses pembuatan ciu berpotensi dalam pemberdayaan literasi sains siswa yang meliputi 3 indikator: (1) menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah; (2) mengevaluasi dan merancang penyelidikan ilmiah; (3) menafsirkan data dan bukti secara ilmiah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) terdapat pengetahuan ilmiah pada proses pembuatan minuman tradisional ciu dan (2) proses pembuatan minuman tradisional ciu berpotensi dalam pemberdayaan literasi sains siswa SMP.This study aims to analyze the scientific knowledge of ciu traditional drink and analyze the potential of scientific knowledge of ciu traditional drink as local wisdom of Bekonang Village in empowering science literacy of junior high school students. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The primary data is ciu producers in Bekonang Village, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo Regency. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity using triangulation of data collection techniques. Interactive data analysis through: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) conclusion drawing. The results showed that the process of making ciu includes 7 stages: (1) preparation of tools and materials; (2) dilution; (3) addition of yeast; (4) fermentation; (5) distillation; (6) distillation filtering; and (7) distillation harvesting. Each stage in the ciu-making process contains scientific knowledge of science (aspects of chemistry, physics and biology). Scientific knowledge in the ciu making process has the potential to empower students' science literacy which includes 3 indicators: (1) explain phenomena scientifically; (2) evaluate and design scientific investigations; (3) interpret data and evidence scientifically. The conclusions of this study are: (1) there is scientific knowledge in the process of making traditional ciu drinks and (2) the process of making traditional ciu drinks has the potential to empower junior high school students' science literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the discipline of the Bachelor of Science Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universitas Sebelas Maret (BSESP FTTE UNS) as a learning organization in maintaining performance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses a post-positivism approach with qualitative methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with several informants. Based on the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that the BSESP FTTE UNS maintains performance as a learning organization during the COVID-19 pandemic through five disciplines according to Peter Senge, namely: 1) System Thinking, maintaining the commitment of organizational members in maintaining the sustainability of the organizational work system through the leadership of the head of the study program; 2) Personal Mastery, providing opportunities for each member of the organization to participate in activities to improve their competence; 3) Mental Models, providing appeals, and the right decisions in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic; 4) Shared Vision, having a shared vision and ultimate goal that is still realized in learning, research, and community service activities, even though they have to adapt to changes; and 5) Team Learning, maintaining the Research Group to keep running even though it has to adapt to limitations
