Abstract

The shift in time has brought about changes that clearly leave the cultural identity of the archipelago. Sasirangan Village is one of the villages located in the middle of Banjarmasin City. This village still has a strong atmosphere, especially in the diversity of architecture in the area. River culture is still visible in this village, both for daily needs and also land for housing, namely Rumah Lanting. There are 3 Lanting houses in Sasirangan Village. The lack of a number of Lanting Houses left at this time raises a concern that there is a threat of extinction from cultural heritage. In this case, it is necessary to have a study of the architectural concept of the Lanting House to determine the right steps in preserving the Lanting House. The results of this study found that the right effort to preserve the Lanting House in Sasirangan Village was a revitalization effort that did not require material replacement and developed it as a Sasirangan gallery or souvenir shop that supports local wisdom and the identity of Sasirangan Village.

Abstract

Sasirangan fabric artisans carry out the production process in their respective houses. The house not only functions as a living space but also as a production space. Sasirangan fabric is a typical craft from Sasirangan Village, Banjarmasin, which is a source of livelihood for the community. The local government has designated Sasirangan Village as a riverfront area so that the existence and uniqueness of artisans's houses are in danger of being lost. The purpose of this case study research on the spatial typology of artists' business houses is to identify the different types of business houses based on the stage of production and space utilization patterns. The analysis was conducted by arranging categories based on function, spatial relationship patterns, and spatial organization. The research results show that six spatial typologies of business houses were found based on their space utilization patterns.

Abstract

Abstract

The Seberang Masjid area is one of the areas that still represents Banjar Village and has a unique craft called Sasirangan Cloth. In order to increase the local value of this village, the government together with the private sector changed the name of this village to Kampung Sasirangan in 2010. In Sasirangan Village there are several residences that have changed function, not only as residences but also as production and/or commercial areas. The division of stages of production activities influences the behavior of craftsmen which shapes space utilization patterns. Researchers found 17 craftsmen's houses spread across land areas, riverbanks, riverbanks and upstream rivers. The craftsmen who occupy the seventeen houses are grouped into first hand craftsmen, second hand craftsmen, and craftsmen and traders. The shapes and plans of buildings in this area are predominantly uniform, but diversity is also found in the space utilization patterns used by craftsmen. It is interesting to study how space utilization patterns are formed by Sasirangan cloth craftsmen. The method used in this research itself is a case study with in-depth interviews, observations and notes. It was found that first-hand craftsmen have the most complex production stages, so their space utilization patterns are also increasingly complex. The space utilization patterns of craftsmen's houses are first grouped into production space utilization patterns with one building mass and two building masses. The craftsmen do not have a special room in their house in order to produce Sasirangan Cloth, but the craftsmen maximize the space in their house by arranging the pattern of utilization of each available space.
