Abstract

This research seeks to examine the effect of contribution income, claim expenses, and risk-based capital on PT's profitability. Asuransi Jiwa Mitra Syariah Tbk. (JMAS). In contemporary times, the demand for financial security is growing, leading insurance to have a significant role in handling the risks faced by clients. This research employs a quantitative approach utilizing secondary data derived from the company's yearly financial reports for the years 2017-2024, comprising a population and sample of 32 data points, with the sampling method being a saturated sample. The study's results indicate that contribution income has a negligible impact on profitability, as claim burden follows contribution income. At the same time, claims costs greatly influence profitability. Conversely, risk-based capital (RBC) has minimal impact on profitability, underscoring the necessity of effective fund management. This conclusion indicates that these elements need to be effectively managed to enhance the financial performance of Islamic insurance firms. This study aims to offer guidance for management and stakeholders in making strategic decisions to enhance profitability

Abstract

Accounting is a process that involves recording, processing, and presenting financial information so that the data generated in financial reports can be used by users as a basis for decision-making. Financial statements must be prepared in accordance with applicable Pernyataan Standar Akuntansi Keuangan (PSAK) and possess the characteristics of relevance, reliability, accuracy, credibility, and understandability for users. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of PSAK 241 on biological assets and its implications for the quality of financial reporting at PT Karya Semangat Mandiri. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive case study method. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and financial statement analysis, and were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques. The results showed that the company had implemented PSAK 241 in the recognition, measurement, presentation, and recognition of gains or losses based on fair value. However, inconsistencies remained in the disclosure aspect, particularly regarding the classification of biological assets and mortality information. These limitations affected the transparency of financial reporting. Therefore, improvements in disclosure practices are necessary to enhance the relevance and reliability of financial statements.

Abstract

The Accounting Information System (AIS) is a computer-based system that transforms accounting data into information to support business continuity. Merchandise inventory, as a crucial component, requires proper management since it represents a significant current asset. This study aims to analyze the implementation of AIS in inventory management at Zeirrie Collection Store. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were the owner, warehouse staff, and cashier of Zeirrie Collection Store. The findings indicate that the use of the accounting information system in managing merchandise inventory has not yet been fully optimized. Discrepancies between system data and physical stock were still identified, caused by input errors, manual recording, and weak internal controls. The absence of standard operating procedures (SOPs), unclear division of tasks, and limited employee understanding of the system are identified as inhibiting factors. Thus, the AIS applied has not been fully capable of supporting operational efficiency and inventory information accuracy.

Abstract

Competition in the traditional food industry requires Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to have an accurate costing system to support optimal selling price determination and profit planning. The Eka Jaya Opak Factory, one of the MSMEs processing raw opak in Deli Serdang Regency, still uses conventional costing methods that only calculate raw material and direct labor costs, while factory overhead costs have not been allocated systematically. This condition has the potential to cause cost distortion and inaccuracies in profit planning. This study aims to analyze the application of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) in determining the cost of production and integrate it with Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) analysis to determine optimal profit. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data are analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the cost of production based on the ABC method is Rp 7,050.3/kg, higher than the conventional method of Rp 6,681/kg because overhead costs are allocated based on actual activities that consume resources. The integration of ABC and CVP resulted in an optimal selling price strategy at a 50% markup with a profit of Rp 109,984,664 per month, a Break Even Point of 6,394 kg, and a Margin of Safety of 79.5%. These findings indicate that the integrated ABC and CVP approach can improve the accuracy of cost information and support managerial decision-making in MSME profit planning more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the production cost budget is used as an instrument for planning and controlling production costs at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) Kebun Panai Jaya. This study is expected to provide input for company management regarding the role of the budget as a planning and control tool. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach to explore budget fluctuations and production cost realization, as well as changes in budget productivity and production cost realization. The research subjects consisted of the Head of the Accounting Department, one accounting staff, and the Treasurer of the Finance Department of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) Kebun Panai Jaya. Data collection was conducted through interviews with the finance department. The data analysis technique used is a method that collects, organizes, interprets, and analyzes data to solve problems encountered. The results of this study indicate differences between budgeted and realized production costs, as well as a decrease in productivity in certain years. The use of the budget must also be accompanied by a more in-depth variance analysis to identify the causes of deviations. Therefore, necessary steps can be taken to minimize adverse variances between the budget and actual results. Thus, the function of the budget as a planning and control tool can be more effective and efficient.
