Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mechanical properties, namely the tensile  strength, bending and impact of the composite fiber mengkuang (pandanus artocarpus griff) without immersion and with immersion of 5% NaOH with an immersion time of 1 hour. Then the blending and casting process is carried out to form a composite material with 20% fiber and 80% resin binder with a catalyst content of 1% and pressurized with press variations of 5 kg, 10 kg, and 15 kg. The results of the blending and casting process are made according to the testing standard and then testing the mechanical properties. The results of tensile, bending and impact testing showed that for 1 hour immersion with a pressure of 15 kg the highest value was tensile strength of 13.75 N / mm2, bending strength of 33.61 N / mm2 and impact strength of 152.32 J / mm2. Whereas the form of the composite fiber of the  decomposed fiber is the binder and the fiber breaks evenly at the same point and the fiber is not pulled from the metric.Keywords: composites, resins, mono fiber, mechanical properties

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisa pengaruh parameter variasi arus terhadap keausan material elektrode/Electrode Relative Wear serta hubungannya terhadap laju pembuangan material / Material Removal Rate dari mesin EDM Chimer Ez. Arus yang digunakan 1,5; 3; 6; 8; 10 dan 12 amper. Sedangkan material elektrode menggunakan tembaga, kuningan, aluminium dan grafit serta benda kerja baja ST 60. Dari hasil yang di dapat secara umum, semakin tinggi arus yang digunakan angka keausan material elektrode semakin meningkat. Dari ketiga jenis logam kuningan, tembaga dan aluminium, logam kuningan memiliki angka laju keausan tertinggi dan yang terendah terjadi pada elektrode grafit. Kata Kunci: EDM, MRR, ERW, Elektrode

Abstract

Abstract: Housing, buildings and factories often fire, this can be caused by electric short circuits, explosions of gas stoves. Extinguishing fires can use river water or sea water. This research is expected to get an overview of data about tensile strength, hardness and mechanical properties due to changes in heat temperature and cooling with river water and sea water on steel construction materials with various operational conditions. The materials used are plain reinforcing steel (BJTP), deformed steel and profiled steel (IWF-400) heated in the heating kitchen with variations of 600 , 700 , 800 and 900 , cooled by river and sea water, carried out Vickers tensile strength and hardness test. The results of the tensile test of BJTP increased by 461.55 N/mm2, the highest cooling of river water was 9000C=345.15N/mm2(53.70%), the lowest was 600 =31.13 N/mm2 (4.84 %). The highest deformation was 900℃=345.15 N⁄mm2 (53.70 %), the lowest was 600 =31.13N/mm2 (4.84 %). The highest IWF-400 was 900 =101.32 N/mm2 (18.93 %), the lowest was 600 =10.85 N/mm2(2.03%). Vickers BJTP hardness test is the highest for cooling river water 900 =35.06 HV (41.32%), the lowest is 600 =2.16 HV (2.55%). Deform 900 = 47.28 HV (53.63%), the lowest 600 =3.88 HV (4.40%). IWF-400 900 =15.52 HV (18.89 %), the lowest 600 =1.66 HV (2.02%). As the temperature increases by cooling seawater and river water, the tensile strength and hardness of the vickers also increase

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Mambaul Ulum Desa Punggur Kecil Kecamatan Sungai Kakap Kabupaten Kubu Raya, belum tersentuh akan air bersih  atau standar air layak untuk dikonsumsi. Ini semua dikarenakan belum meratanya pengadaan infrastruktur, karena terbatasnya anggaran pemerintah dan biaya yayasan sehingga menjadi faktor penghambat dari tersedianya air bersih bagi warga ponpes. Untuk mengatasi permasalah tersebut maka dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dengan tujuan yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang standar kualitas air bersih dan keterampilan pengolahan air layak konsumsi warga serta meningkatkan kesehatan dan kesejahteraan warga di Pondok Pesantren Mambaul Ulum. Adapun metode yang akan dilakukan yaitu kegiatan mencari melakukan pelatihan dan praktek langsung pembuatan sumur bor dan pengolahan air layak konsumsi yang nantinya akan dipasang dan dioperasikan. Adapun hasilnya warga diPonpes mengetahui standar air sesuai Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Nomor 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990, mengerti cara membuat sumur bor, penyediaan air dan penjernih air layak konsumsi dan kesehatan dan kesejahteraan warga diPonpes miningkat

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about the price of tensile, hardening, and changes in microstructure as well as changes in material properties at hot temperature variations 800 OC to 900 OC. The method used in this study is an experimental method, where the material used is ST-60 steel bolts, with a tensile test sample form referring to the ASTM D 638-03 standard, while for testing hardness and chemical composition based on machine standards, namely Ø16 mm x 20 mm. In this study, 5 samples were made at each temperature of 0 0C, 800 0C, 850 0C, 900 0C, 950 0C and 1000 0C with the type of heat treatment in the normalizing process and the hardening quenching process. This research was conducted in the Laboratorium Pengujian Bahan, Jurusan Teknik Mesin, Politeknik Negeri Pontianak. The test results on the normalizing process for tensile strength decreased by an average of 230.78 N/mm2 or 50%, Vickers hardness decreased by an average of 33.99 HV or 31% and the carbon content decreased by an average of 0.19 or 48% of the normalizing process is not done. Whereas in the hardening quenching process, the average tensile strength increased by 93.22 N/mm2 or 20 %, the Vickers hardness on average increased by 19.29 HV or 18 % and the average carbon content increased by 0.06 or up 17 % of the hardening quenching process was not done. So to overcome the decrease in mechanical strength and changes in the microstructure of the ST-60 bolt due to hot temperatures, the hardening quenching process can be applied, namely by polishing with used oil after the bolts work at hot temperatures.

Abstract

A conveyor belt is a material transfer equipment that uses a belt to move materials. The role of conveyor belts in industry is very important, if damaged it can result in the cessation of the production process which is detrimental to the company. To avoid damage, in-depth handling is needed by conducting research on the strength of the joints on the conveyor belt. This study focuses on the analysis of the strength of the conveyor belt joint with adhesive glue on tensile strength, with temperature variations from hot to cold temperatures and given pressure with a certain compressive strength using the hot and cold splicing method. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of temperature variations and the pressure strength of the conveyor belt joint on tensile strength using the hot and cold splicing method. The standard for making test samples uses the DIN 22102 standard. The results of the study obtained the highest average tensile strength value of the cold splicing method of 11.461 (N/mm²) pressure of 50 N and 11.073 (N/mm²) pressure of 80 N. The hot splicing method at a temperature of 100°C had the highest average tensile strength value of 9.909 (N/mm²) pressure of 50 N and a temperature of 110°C had the highest average value of 8.409 (N/mm²) pressure of 80 N. For a temperature of 120°C the highest tensile strength value was 8.284 (N/mm²) pressure of 70 N. This study shows a decrease in the tensile strength value as the temperature and pressing force increase causing the conveyor belt to become brittle and fragile.
