Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type 2 is never separated from pain in the feet caused by peripheral neuropathy. An alternative to reduce pain in type 2 DM sufferers is diabetic foot exercise. Diabetic foot exercise is a simple physical exercise that can be applied at any time. Diabetic kako exercise if done regularly can reduce pain intensity to the maximum and can also reduce the risk of osteoporosis. This study aims to determine the effect of foot exercise on pain intensity in patients with type 2 DM. This study used a pre-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design approach. Samples were taken with a total sampling of 27 respondents. Respondents came from the experimental group of 27 respondents. The research instruments used were videos, SOPs, Numerical Rating Score (NRS) sheets and observation sheets. The data analysis used in this research is the Wilcoxon test. Data collection was carried out after passing the ethical test. The results showed that there was an effect of diabetic foot exercise on pain intensity in the experimental group with a p-value of 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that diabetic foot exercises are effective in reducing pain intensity in type 2 DM patients.

Abstract

The blockage that occurs in the coronary arteries causes blood flow to the heart muscle to stop/obstruct. Acute Myocardial Infarction is life-threatening which is dangerous because of chest pain, collapse, and sudden death. The main symptom of acute myocardial infarction is chest pain that does not go away even after resting. other symptoms that may appear are cold sweats, nausea, vomiting, coughing, palpitations, and dizziness. Relaxation can take the form of deep breathing, guided imagery, dhikr, listening to music, and Benson relaxation. The application of Benson relaxation can be applied to AMI sufferers in reducing the anxiety they feel. This study uses the Pre and post-test approach without control, using a sample of 40 respondents. Sampling by accidental sampling. The statistical test results found a significant difference in the patient's pain score before and after the intervention was carried out (p-value: 0.00). Further research is needed to see the efficacy of this therapy in a larger sample size.

Abstract

Stress is a common psychological condition that can be experienced by anyone, including students who are preparing their final assignments. Stress in students can be influenced by various internal factors such as the individual's ability to manage time and pressure, as well as external factors such as academic demands and social support. Its impact is very significant on mental health, learning motivation, and the quality of final assignment completion. This study aims to determine the stress levels of students in the Anesthesiology Nursing Study Program at Harapan Bangsa University based on gender and age. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 169 students who were in the final assignment preparation stage. Stress levels were measured using a Guttman scale questionnaire consisting of 23 questions. The results showed that 74 respondents (43.79%) experienced moderate stress, 60 respondents (35.50%) experienced severe stress, 28 respondents (16.57%) experienced mild stress, and only 7 respondents (4.14%) experienced no stress. Based on gender, 20 male respondents (11.83%) experienced moderate stress, while 54 female respondents (31.95%) experienced moderate stress, and 49 (28.99%) experienced severe stress. In terms of age, respondents aged 21 and 22 both experienced moderate stress at 15.38%, while respondents aged 22 also experienced severe stress at 15.38%. Overall, student stress levels tended to be in the moderate to severe category, indicating the need for more systematic psychological attention and intervention.

Abstract

Shivering is a common side effect after spinal anesthesia that can increase oxygen demand, the risk of cardiac complications. This condition is triggered by factors such as body temperature, operating room temperature, and urological surgery-related factors like dehydration, bleeding, and the effects of anesthesia that disrupt thermoregulation, potentially leading to shivering. This study aimed to determine the incidence of shivering after spinal anesthesia based on pre-anesthetic body temperature and operating room temperature characteristics in patients undergoing urological surgery. A descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted on 41 urological surgery patients selected using quota sampling from a total population of 71 patients. The sample size was calculated using the Slovin formula. The results showed that most patients with pre-anesthetic hypothermia (<36.5°C) did not experience shivering (43.9%), and a similar finding was observed in patients with normal body temperature (36.5–37.5°C), where 24.4% did not experience shivering. Only one patient (2.4%) with hyperthermia experienced grade 2 shivering. In terms of operating room temperature, 63.4% of patients in rooms with temperatures below the ideal range (<18°C) and 4.9% in rooms with ideal temperatures (18–22°C) did not experience shivering. It can be concluded that the majority of patients in this study did not develop shivering after spinal anesthesia, however, 31.8% of them did experience shivering, which requires proper attention and early management. Further studies involving more diverse variables are recommended to explore additional factors that may contribute to the incidence of shivering.
