Abstract

Background:Stroke is the process of death from brain cells due to lack of oxygen supply to the brain. An ischemic stroke is an episode of neurological dysfunction caused by focal, spinal, or focal cerebral infarction. Stroke is the second leading cause of death in the world and the third cause of disability in the world. There are many factors that are thought to play a role in the onset of stroke, one of which is hyperglycemia. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship of reactive hyperglycemia with ischemic stroke prognostics at Budi Kemuliaan hospital in Batam city in 2020-2021. Method:Observasional analytic research with aproaching cross sectional that is done at RSBK in Batam City On December 2021. In this study, the population is all ischemic stroke patients recorded in medical records at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital Batam for the period August 2020 - July 2021.The technique of tacking sample is purpossive samply with the number of samples are 107. The result of resorser analysed with frequency distribution, tabulated crosswise then examined with chi-square. Result:The result of analysis chi-square is obtained p= 0,003 where p is smaller than with significancy level alfa = 5% (0,05). Conclusion:There is the relationship between reavtive hyperglycemia with prognostik of ischemic stroke at RSBK Batam city.

Abstract

Background: According to the Ministry of Health (2021), Hypertension or high blood pressure is characterized by an increase in systolic blood pressure exceeding 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure exceeding 90 mmHg in two measurements taken five minutes apart in a sufficiently rested/quiet state. Poor sleep quality occurs due to increased cortisol hormone, caused by the activation of the sympathetic nervous system, which enhances vasoconstrictor effects (epinephrine and norepinephrine) that influence the increase in blood pressure. Individuals with good sleep quality tend to experience a better quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between the degree of hypertension and sleep quality in hypertensive patients at PMI Hospital Bogor City in 2023. Method: This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional analytical study design. The sampling technique used in this study is non-probability sampling with a sample size of 82 individuals using accidental sampling. Sleep quality was measured using the PSQI questionnaire. Data analysis employed univariate and bivariate analyses with the chi-square statistical test. Results: The Chi-square test analysis for the relationship between the degree of hypertension and sleep quality in hypertensive patients yielded a p-value of 0.115 (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of this research, it is concluded that there is no significant relationship between the degree of hypertension and sleep quality in hypertensive patients at PMI Hospital Bogor City in 2023. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Stroke is a condition characterized by local and global neurological disorders that can progress, continue for more than 24 hours, and result in death. One of the risk factors for stroke is the use of contraception. Hormonal contraceptives containing estrogen and progesterone can significantly change the coagulation system by increasing the activity of thrombin and clotting factors and reducing the action of natural anticoagulants. Methods: : This type of research uses the Case Control method with an analytical observational approach. The study population was all stroke sufferers recorded in the medical records at RSBK in 2023, totaling 155 patients. This study used a sample of 80 patients. Where 40 patients were controls and 40 patients were cases. Results: The results of the Chi-Square analysis test show that the use of hormonal contraceptives is not related to the incidence of stroke at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, Batam City in 2023 with a value of p=0.70 (>0.05). Conclusion: Based on the research results, it was found that there was no significant relationship between the use of hormonal contraception and the incidence of stroke at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, Batam City in 2023.
