Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an instructional model to improve the self-study skills of Bangkok University students, studying The impact of this model on English reading comprehension them and abilities independent learning and exploring opinions them towards independent learning. This research focuses on several problems, including: (1) To find out factors reason student not enough think critical in read, (2) To know Self-Directed Learning (SDL) is better as teaching material to improve reading skills, (3) Test Content-Based Instructions (CBI) more Good For teach ability read, and (4) evaluation its effectiveness by expert validation and implementation of the model in the classroom. Besides that, the average score after testing students' independent learning abilities in four learning styles significantly higher than those before the test (p.05). This research suggests that the use of story-based learning media, especially those based on local wisdom, plays a big role in motivating students to explore new learning methods. These findings highlight the importance of pedagogical approaches that foster student independence, critical thinking, and engagement, ultimately leading to improved learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing students' internal problems in learning English, as these significantly influence their academic success or failure in acquiring English as a foreign language. This study uses a qualitative methodology to get a deeper understanding of the internal problems faced by learners in English language learning at the beginning of their educational journeys. This research used a case study in Pariwisata program in the Second Grade (SMA). The students reported psychological challenges and diminished motivation, including low self-confidence, shyness, lack of interest in speaking, fear of public speaking, and apprehension over peer criticism, which led them to neglect studying and speaking English previously. The students' propensity for anxiety was significantly increased by psychological or cognitive illnesses. The study suggests that English is essential for enhancing the quality of learners' speaking proficiency.

Abstract

This research examines the use of game-based learning methods to enhance students' speaking abilities at MTs. Darul Wustha Jerowaru in the year 2024. This study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) as its research methodology. The statistics in this research were derived from the mean value of student performance and the percentage of grades. The participants in this research were seventh-grade students from MTs. Darul Wustha Jerowaru included 17 individuals. This study was performed in two phases. The tools used in this study included tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets. The mean score of students' speaking proficiency in the first cycle was 69, with 60% of students exhibiting inadequate speaking abilities; hence, the researcher proceeded to a second cycle. The findings indicated that the mean score of students' speaking proficiency was 76, with 81.25% of students meeting the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This indicates that the use of game-based learning methods may enhance students' speaking proficiency.

Abstract

This research is about the effect of forum group discussion method towards student’s speaking skill at the tenth grade student’s. This research aimed to know whether or not the effect of forum group discussion method towards the students’ speaking skill effectively at the tenth grade of MTs NW MONTONG MAS. This research applied Pre-Assessment, Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. The population of this research was students in the 11th grade and the sample of this research consists of 25 students of MTs NW MONTONG MAS. The Researcher collected the data by giving the pre-assessment, cycle 1 and cycle 2, formulated in an oral test containing the speaking test. The data collected through pre-assessment, cycle 1 and cycle 2 were firstly tabulated and analyzed in percentage. The result could see that the percentages of students’ speaking skill were improved in each cycle. The result of students’ speaking wasalways positive and increased well, the improvement of students’ speaking skill occurred from pre-assessment until last cycle.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the factors contributing to students' nervousness when speaking English and assess their English proficiency at SMK Islam Plus Yadaro. This research employs qualitative methodologies with a descriptive orientation. Two instruments were employed in this study: the LFCAS questionnaire. The research sample consisted of 35 students divided into two classes: class X Accounting and class X TSM 2. The sample was obtained through purposive sampling. The data for this study were gathered by administering a questionnaire and a speaking test to two classes at SMK Islam Plus Yadaro: class X accounting and class X TSM 2. The results of the LFCAS questionnaire indicated that communication apprehension was 33.5%, fear of negative evaluation was 24.56%, and test anxiety was 41.94%. The results for the class X accounting and X TSM 2 students on the five aspects are as follows: Vocabulary (19.93%), Grammar (19.26%), Fluency (19.77%), Pronunciation (20.6%), and understanding (20.44%). The LFCAS questionnaire allows pupils to be classified as low or below average. In contrast, the students' speaking test results are classified as excellent.
