Abstract

This study was intended to examine the characteristics of the HRS-WC mixture by utilizing the Makawa river stone aggregate in North Walenrang District based on laboratory testing. The methodology in this research is to conduct a series of characteristics testing in the form of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, filler and asphalt and then design the composition of the mixture then make the specimen in the form of HRS-WC mixture and conventional Marshall test for the determination of KAO after that making KAO test specimens to obtain the Immersion Index ( IP) / Residual Strength Index (IKS). The results of research conducted at the Road and Asphalt Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Indonesian Christian University Paulus Makassar, showed that the characteristics of the pavement material in the form of Makawa river stone aggregate in North Walenrang sub-district met the specifications of the road surface layer material. Through the Marshall test the HRS-WC mix characteristics were obtained with asphalt content of 5.9%, 6.4%, 6.9%, 7.4%, 7.9% fulfilling the requirements issued by the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia , General Specifications2018. Marshall Immersion test results of HRS-WC mixture at optimum asphalt content of 6.4% get a Soaking Index (IP) / Residual Strength Index (IKS) / Durability of a mixture of 94.41% which means it exceeds the boundary conditions of ≥ 90% so the mixture is resistant to soaking in water.

Abstract

This study was intended to determine the effect of using nickel slag on the residual strength index of the Lataston HRS-WC mixture. The methodology in this research is to carry out a series of coarse and fine aggregate tests then design the composition of the Lataston HRS-WC and HRS-BASE mixture as well as Marshall immersion testing to obtain the Residual Strength Index (IKS) / Immersion Index (IP) / Durability. The results of this study, which was conducted in the Road and Asphalt laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil, Paulus Makassar, Indonesian Christian University, through the Marshall immersion test, the Lataston HRS-WC mixture was obtained with variations in nickel slag levels of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The immersion time duration of 0.5 hours and 24 hours. Marshall test results for Lataston HRS-WC mixture obtained Residual Strength Index (IKS) / Immersion Index (IP) / Durability obtained values of 92.84% for 0% nickel slag content, 93.42% for 25% nickel slag content, 94.19 for 50% nickel slag content, 93.03 for 75% nickel slag content and 97.06% for 100% nickel sag content so that there was an increase in the resistance of the mixture to the residual strength index value in line with the increase in the substituted nickel slag content.

Abstract

This study is to get character each of Laston base mixture using the Mount Pura Lau stone, Tikala District. The methodology in this study is to test each character of the sample to be tested for its, whether it is coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, filler, and asphalt. After testing each character, we will design the composition of the mixture for the manufacture of rough Laston Base (AC-BASE) specimens and obtain several variants of asphalt content, namely 4.5%, 5%, 5.55%, 6%, and 6.5%. After getting the composition, the test object will be made immediately. After the object has been made, it is time to test with Marshall test tool to obtain the residual Marshall Immersion / Stability Index (SMS) or the durability of the mixture using the optimum bitumen content. The results of the optimum asphalt content were 5.5%, MQ 906.88 Kg / mm and immersion index (IP) 96.06% which showed that met the requirements, namely 90% and meets the specifications of Bina Marga. So that it can be used as a recommendation to the regional government and local residents.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of immersion variations on the Durability of Intermediate Laston Mixtures. The methodology in this research is to design the specimens using Salassa River aggregate with a composition of 5.00% asphalt content with variations of immersion 0.5 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 96 hours. Marshall Immersion Test to get the Durability value due to variations in immersion The results showed that the durability of the asphalt mixture will decrease if it is submerged in water for too long and changes in temperature. Stability of the mixture will decrease if it is submerged in water for too long. The greatest stability is 1394.17 Kg, which means it meets the minimum specification standard of 800 kg. The flow of the asphalt mixture will change its plastic shape due to prolonged immersion. The largest flow value is 2.70. Flow on the asphalt mixture meets the standard specifications of 2-4 mm. The durability value for various immersions in the mixture of Laston Lapis Antara was the largest at 97.44% at 24 hour immersion, the smallest value at 80.62%. The limit of immersion tolerance is 48 hours with a value of 94.59%.
