Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is an intrakurikuler activity that combines Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi implementation to provide stock to students in the form oflearning experiences and community empowerment. KKN is a vehicle for the application and development of science, technology and arts, carried out outside thecampus, in time, working mechanisms, and certain requirements. KKN program at the Institut Sains & Teknologi AKPRIND Yogyakarta, as well as efforts to improve empathyand awareness of students in the community and apply science, especially science and technology in the midst of society. The process of implementing KKN also get guidance from lecturers. In the guidance of this KKN, lecturers also play a role in the implementation of community service. With the involvement of this lecturer is expectedto implement KKN can run in accordance with the policy of the Institute. Implementation of KKN is done by Gedong Kuning with work program to improve human resource skill to support entrepreneurship interest. Hopefully this program can be implemented well by the community to reduce unemployment and increase income.

Abstract

People have used rice husk as an isolator material to prevent melting block of ice by pour it to the block of ice. Rice husk as particle board have been developed as an alternative of isolator material especially for cold storage. Thermal conductivity was affected by many aspects; one of them is filler solid compression ratio. The value of thermal conductivity in the rice husk particle boards has been researched to thermal conductivity with modified of ASTM C177 method and with different solid comparison are: 6-1, 5-1, 4-1, 3-1 i.e from original thick to final thick. From the different of the value of thermal conductivity which was from every density, it was found that the highest value of the thermal conductivity was obtained on rice husk particle board with the density of 3-1 with the value of thermal conductivity 0,133 w/m°C on heat source 70 watt and 0,103 w/m°C on heat source 80 watt and the lowest value of the thermal conductivity was density with 6-1 with the value of thermal conductivity 0,096 w/m°C on heat source 70 watt and 0,082 w/m°C on heat source 80 watt.

Abstract

The ethanol and methanol are derivative compound of alcohol with 115 and 111 octane number, respectively.The blend of both to premium to descrease of their octane number. This research of premium ethanol fuel with 80% premium-20% ethanol composition and premium methanol fuel with 77% premium-23%methanol composition also biopremium Pertamina with 95% premium-5%ethanol composition. The aim of this research to know the performance of engine (torque, power, mean effectif pressure, fuel conversion efficiency), and also emission of exhaust gas (CO,CO2, HC, and O2). The experiment device is Honda Grang C100 motorccle with Twin Chassis Dynamometer methode on variable velocity, 4000 rpm, 5000 rpm, 6000 rpm,7000 rpm, 8000 rpm, and 9000 rpm respectively. The result and calculated of this research indicated that torque, power, mean effectif pressure, and fuel conversion efficiency on the mixed of premium-ethanol 5.71%, 4.91%, 9,58% higher then premium fuel,respectively. The consumption of premium-ethanol mixed fuel 9.1% less then premium fuel. The premium-methanol mixed used indicated that CO (carbon monoxyde) 52.56% less, CO2 (carbon dioxide) 27,82% higher, O2 (oxygen) 11.87% less, then premium fuel used, respectively. Used of biopremium Pertamina fuel indicated that HC (hydrocarbon) 29.78% less then premium fuel.

Abstract

Rice husk and wood sawdust produced in many parts of Indonesia as forest and agricultural waste. Both of these types of waste materials that can potentially be improved benefits and economic value, one way to be further processed into particle board. Particle board from a mixture of rice husk and sawdust than required strength properties, it is also necessary to study the nature of the heat transfer capability The purpose of this study to determine the value of the thermal conductivity of a mixture of rice husk particle board with three types of sawn wood dust. Three kinds of powder sawdust wood is teak, mahogany wood powder, sawdust and coconut. The study was conducted by means of modifications based on ASTM C177. Test particle board made ​​from a mixture of rice hulls - three types of wood dust by weight of the composition of each mixture 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 and 3:1 with density. The results showed that the rate of thermal conductivity (k) of the lowest 0.997 W / m ° C obtained in a mixture of rice husk particle board with teak wood powder with 1:1 composition. While the largest numbers conductivity obtained in a mixture of rice husk particle board - sawdust coconut (glugu) of 1.315 W / m ° C with a 2:1 composition.

Abstract

Rice husk particle board was expected to replace the established one, because it has advantages such as more heat and fire resistance that can be used in household appliances, building material, heat absorber, and cold storage. As an alternative building material, rice husk particle board should pass the testing processes that suitable to industrial standard include physical and mechanical properties. Particle board was made of resin and rice husk at 1:2 and 1:3 composition mixture and compacted ratio at 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 respectively used moulding that have a measurement 20 x 10 cm2. The testing included internal bonding, modulus of elasticity (MOE), modulus of rupture (MOR) and density of particle board. The results have shown that composition mixture 1:2 has more strength than 1:3. The highest compacted ratio needed more compacted pressure, i.e. on compacted ratio 5:1 has needed pressure 10.795 kg/cm2. Internal bonding of composition mixture of 1:2 has higher than 1:3. The highest value of MOE and MOR have received in 1:2 composition mixture with 5:1 compacted pressure are 5,088.75 kg/cm2 and 63.75 kg/cm2 respectively. The MOE on composition mixture of 1:2 has higher than 1:3. A particle board density ranges from 0.355 g/cm3 on 1:2 composition mixtures with 2:1 compacted pressure to 8.73 g/cm3 with 5:1 compacted pressure. The best of rice husk particle board used 1:2 composition mixture and compacted pressure of 5:1 which result in highest of MOE and MOR values.

Abstract

Solar collector cylindrical troughs with multi pipe absorbers were observed to find the best collector performance. The research put on two types collector arrangements, that are series and parallel arrangement. There are three type configurations of absorber pipes consisting of 3, 4 , and 6 pipes. The objective of this research is to find a simple construction of solar collector that produce high temperature working fluid. Three collectors were observed simultaneously. Each collector installed a type configuration and a type arrangement. Water flow rates in this experimental were 50, 125, 175, and 300 cc/minute. Observation on three collectors was done on the same ti-me, condition, and flow. Data of observation result used to calculate actual and ideal co-llector efficiency. The results are presented in table and graphic to be analyzed. Results of calculation indicate the collector efficiency on each absorber pipe ar-rangement and configuration. The higher collector efficiency on series arrangement, is 0.763, that was resulted from collector with 3 pipe configuration in 175 cc/minute debit of flow. The higher collector efficiency on parallel arrangement, is 0.491, also resulted from the collector with 3 pipe configuration in 175 cc/minute debit of flow too. The final con-clusion, collector 3 pipe configuration in series arrangement with 175 cc/minute debit of flow is the best collector cylindrical trough in this research.

Abstract

Wind is one of some alternate energy resources in the nature that used to membantu and easily human activity. The aim of this research known the performance of wind mill. The variable in the research with various number of blade 2,3, and 4. Wind mill for the research had spesification flate blade with 200 from wind direction.The speed of wind and revolution of shaft was measured for calculated power output and teoritical, coefficient performance, efficiency, and torque. Wind turbin tested in Depok resort, Parangtritis - Bantul Yogyakarta.The result of research showed the number two blade had higher revolution (121,7 rpm) than three blade (102,35 rpm) and four blade (116 rpm).The wind velocity increased to cause increase revolution of shaft. Maximum Power and Torque reached on wind turbin with three blade.

Abstract

Plastic waste can cause serious environmental problems. This can be overcome by various efforts; one of them is by replacing the use of conventional plastic with biodegradable plastic. Biodegradable plastic can be produced from tubers containing starch. The purpose of this study was to explain the suitability of two tuber species with typical protein quality and different starch structures. Starch was obtained from suweg tuber (Amorphophallus campanulatus) and ganyong (Canna edulis Ker). The material invested was obtained by dissolving 4 grams of each starch, each of which was dissolved with distilled water then added with various weight carrageenan. The tensile strength of biodegradable plastic was tested using tensile testing machines, biodegradation of soaked plastics using EM4 (Effective Microorganism) with reduced weight measurements, and Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) was used to identify the structure of compounds contained in biodegradable plastics. The tensile strength test results of biodegradable plastic from ganyong/canna tubers were 3.35 MPa with elongation of 13.51%, while the plastic from suweg tubers of 2.45 MPa with elongation was 13.68% on the addition of 5% carrageenan, respectively. Plastic degradation testing obtained plastic decomposition up to 100% in 37 days for ganyong and 34 days for suweg, respectively. It showed that the plastics was easily degraded. Identified by FTIR showed chemical structures of OH phenolic alcohols, C = O carbonyls, CO esters, NH amides and amines, and C≡C alkyne.

Abstract

Pencetakan 3D atau manufaktur aditif (AM/additif manufacture) adalah proses untuk membuat objek 3D dalam bentuk apa pun dari simulasi pemodelan 3D. Naskah ini membahas tentang pencetakan 3D yang menjadi topik penting dalam aspek perkembangan teknologi manufaktur. Pembahasan pertama tentang apa yang dimaksud dengan rapid prototype dan pencetakan 3D/3D printing dan apa yang menjadi bahasan penting dari pencetakan 3D tersebut. Pembahasan dimulai dari sejarah pencetakan 3D dan mempelajari tentang proses pencetakan 3D dan bahan apa yang digunakan dalam pembuatan objek cetak 3D. masing-masing metode pencetakan 3D memiliki keunggulan lihat keuntungan dan memberikan keuntungan dalam skala produksi dibandingkan metode konvensional.
