Abstract

This article aims to find a pattern of relations between religion and culture in Banjarpanepen Village as a miniature portrait of Bhineka Tunggal Ika Village, which upholds mutual respect and tolerance in social and religious life. In the village, there are Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, and Indigenous Religion (Penghayat) who can live in harmony supported by the local cultural locality. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach and uses observation, interviews and documentation. Key informants were determined through purposive sampling, including the village, traditional, religious, and community leaders. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively-analytically to reveal the facts that occurred theoretically and empirically related to the research focus. The results of this study indicate: (1) a portrait of the community's diversity, which includes religion, culture, and natural potential. In this case, the philosophy of cultural locality is used as the basis for every community social activity. (2) Community communication patterns include social relations, cultural customs and religion. Finally, (3) the strategy to realize Bhineka Tunggal Ika Village is to strengthen the role of religious leaders, strengthen the tradition of cooperation, make local wisdom a cultural strategy in realizing tolerance and develop a tourism village based on local wisdom.

Abstract

Pada era post truth dewasa ini menandai ruang publik, dimana umat beragama terpanggil untuk memainkan peran sosialnya menjadi pewarta dan saksi kebenaran. Tentu hal tersebut merupakan tantangan tersendiri yang harus dihadapi. Melalui kebenaran yang didakwahkannya tersebut, seharusnya menjadi berkat dan rahmat kemasalatan bagi umat manusia secara holistik. Namun pada realitasnya justru terjadi penguatan terhadap arus fundamentalisme dan radikalisme dalam kehidupan umat beragama dan bernegara. Kecenderungan tersebut dapat diantisipasi dengan mengembangkan sikap inklusivisme dalam beragama. Pesantren menjadi lembaga pendidikan Islam yang dinilai mampu membentuk santri dilandasi dengan nilai moralitas. Meski di beberapa pesantren juga tidak luput dari pemberitaan dan kasus radikalisme, namun setidaknya pesantren telah menujukkan kekonsistenannya dalam menjaga gawang persatuan bangsa dan berkontribusi besar bagi bangsa Indonesia. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan dalam penguatan sikap keberagamaan inklusif santri di Pondok Pesantren Darul Falah Kedungwuluh Purwokerto melaui program Kemah Pemuda Lintas Agama yang bertajuk “Pluralism Camp”. Kegiatan tersebut dikemas dalam kegiatan yang berbasis edutainment dan melibatkan peserta lintas agama. Metode pelaksanaa PkM ini meliputi tahap persiapan yaitu workshop kerja dan studi literatur, tahap pelaksanaanya meliputi persiapan, pelaksanana dan evalusi. Adanya kegiatan Pluralism Camp yang diikuti oleh santri akan menumbuhkan kesadaran bahwa keberagaman perlu dirawat bukan dipermasalahkan, selain itu untuk menumbuhkan sikap inklusivisme dan semangat kebangsaan, kegiatan Pluralism Camp memiliki beberapa manfaat diantaranya adalah dapat menghargai diri santri sendiri dan juga peserta Pluralism Camp yang diantaranya merupakan peserta lintas agama, menumbuhkan pola pikir peserta yang terbuka dan cerdas, menjadikan peserta peka terhadap hambatan pada masalah sosial dan menjadikan peserta mudah dalam menghargai setiap perbedaan budaya dan tradisi yang ada di lingkungan sekitar. Sedangkan evaluasi kegiatan Pluralism Camp dilakukan setelah kegiatan kemah berakhir, evaluasi dilakukan dengan membuat refleksi dalam bentuk tulisan (esai).

Abstract

This research focuses on community interaction that creates an attitude of tolerance so that it has implications for the realization of religious harmony in Banyumas. The specific objective of this research is to discover the heterogeneous interaction patterns of the Banyumas community and to reveal the involvement of organizations and communities that intersect with issues of tolerance in creating a conducive religious atmosphere in Banyumas. This type of research is field research with a qualitative research approach and the nature of this research is descriptive analytic. As for data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1) the interaction patterns of the Banyumas people who are diverse in terms of religion are quite harmonious because they are supported by the character of the Banyumas people who are egalitarian and inclusive. Local wisdom values is also still held tightly by the people of Banyumas, so that it has implications for the harmony of diversity in Banyumas, even though there is still frictional religious relations and there are ideological tendencies; 2) the involvement of religious institutions or communities in realizing religious harmony, FKUB Banyumas in this case has a significant contribution, besides that it is endeavored by each religious element from Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Buddhism through their respective religious communities. In the context of an interfaith community, FORSA Banyumas consistently disseminates messages of harmony, especially to students and the younger generation.
