Abstract

Senggeger or familiar language is "pelet" is something so sacred to the people of Lombok. Senggeger is one of thehighly conserved Lombok culture until now. Supernatural powers contained in the senggeger science makescommunities preserve it for generations. Granting hereditary considered more efficacious than is obtained fromothers. The reason that makes people Sasak made senggeger as conquerors weapon womans heart. It is undeniable:why not enough people Sasak Lombok married one or two? Besides the Sasak Lombok has become a tradition fromancient times (divorce), strong beliefs against senggeger also be the cause of the Sasak Lombok happy married(many wives). Most people Sasak Lombok overall even have knowledge of the loving-compassion. Not to say theSasak Lombok, if you do not have Senggeger. Because it is hereditary it can be ensured everyone Sasak have it. Butit can not be denied, cultural or indigenous communities Sasak Lombok already began shifting, and of course thatbecame the cause is the development of technology. With the shift as it will lead to positive and negative influences,so it will affect the development of Sasak people of Lombok.Keywords: Culture Sasak Lombok, senggeger, and shift.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) wujud lokalitas Sasak dalam novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh karya Salman Faris, dan (2) fungsi lokalitas Sasak dalam membangun cerita secara keseluruhan pada novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh karya Salman Faris. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh karya Salman Faris dan teori yang digunakan adalah  teori sosiologi sastra. Keabsahan data diperoleh dengan uji triangulasi teori. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kualitatif, yakni mendeskripsikan, kategorisasi, inferensi, dan penyajian data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hal-hal sebagai berikut. Pertama, wujud lokalitas Sasak dalam novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh tercermin pada beberapa unsur, yaitu: (1) lokasi atau tempat, (2) sistem kemasyarakatan suku Sasak, (3) sistem kepercayaan (agama) dan mitos, (4) kesenian Sasak, (5) penggunaan bahasa Sasak, (6) sistem mata pencaharian hidup masyarakat suku Sasak, dan (7) sistem teknologi dan peralatan masyarakat suku Sasak. Kedua, fungsi lokalitas Sasak dalam membangun cerita secara keseluruhan, yang paling dominan mempengaruhi adalah latar tempat, penggunaan bahasa Sasak (diksi), serta yang terakhir adalah nama-nama tokoh yang mencerminkan ciri khas orang Sasak, seperti Amaq Tembiengbieng, Jero Mihram, Temelak Mangan, dan Guru Dane.Kata Kunci: lokalitas, Sasak, sosiologi sastra SASAK LOCALITY IN NOVEL GURU DANE AND GURU ONYEH BY SALMAN FARIS ABSTRACT     This study was aimed to describe (1) the form of Sasak locality in novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh by Salman Faris, and (2) the function of Sasak locality in the process of building context of the whole story in the novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh by Salman Faris. The research is qualitative research. The subject of this research was novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh by Salman Faris. The data of this research was focused on the problem of the form and the function of Sasak locality in the novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh which used theory of sociology literature. The validity of the data is obtained by the theory of triangulation test. The data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative, which are description, categorization, inferention, and data presentation. The result of this research shows this fact. First, Sasak locality in the novel Guru Dane dan Guru Onyeh is showed in the several elements, such as: (1) the location, (2) the social system of the Sasak, (3) the belief system (religion) and myth, (4) art of the Sasak, (5) the use of Sasak language, (6) the livelihoods live system of the Sasak, and (7) the technology system and equipment of the Sasak. Second, function of Sasak locality which could build story as a whole, the most dominant effect is the setting, the use of Sasak language (diction), and the last is the name of figure such as Amaq Tembiengbieng, Jero Mihram, Temelak Mangan, and Guru Dane.Keywords: locality, Sasak, sociology literature

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to find out the real contribution of the Pinjam Pustaka literacy community in developing children's interest in reading in Sorong City. This research is descriptive qualitative type. This method is used because it can emphasize the search for meaning, the description of phenomena, and is presented in narrative form. The source of data in this research is in the form of statements submitted by the founder and volunteers of Pinjam Pustaka about the role or contribution of Pinjam Pustaka in developing children's interest in reading. The results obtained in this study are that Pinjam Pustaka takes various concrete steps in developing children's interest in reading in Sorong, such as providing quality and diverse reading materials. Pinjam Pustaka also does not close itself in terms of its literacy movement, but rather opens space for collaboration with various parties. On the other hand, in its literacy efforts, Pinjam Pustaka also experiences obstacles such as the availability of resources, because it is considered quite overwhelmed in serving the increasing number of visitors. Keywords: Literacy Community, Borrow Library, Reading Interest, Sorong.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating and revealing language politeness strategies, as well as the factors that influence politeness strategies used by Papuan students during virtual in the context of virtual academic consultations as a practice of virtual communications to the lecturers. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods and purposive sampling to choose two lecturers and fifteen university students from the Papua as participants. Data was also gathered through online observation, offline interviews, and documentation. Online observations were made by evaluating screenshots of Google Classroom comments and recording of written conversations on WhatsApp and SMS sent by ten Papuan students. At the same time, offline interviews were carried out 10 students and 2 instructors. The data is then analysed using discourse analysis, which consists of multiple steps, including data recording, data transcription, data selection, and data interpretation. In line with the findings of this study, Papuan students use four types of politeness strategies when consulting with lecturers via virtual communication. They are positive, negative, bald on record, and off the record politeness strategies. In online communication, the negative politeness strategy is the most prevalent among Papuan students. The diversity of politeness strategies that are replicated, even if they appear unpleasant at times, is not an aspect of purposeful or disrespectful behaviour toward the interlocutor. But let us get back to the level of language skills, which still require more attention and are impacted by a variety of internal factors such as personality and age, and external factors such as culture, facilities obtained. The findings indicate that even when language capabilities are restricted in virtual communication, Papuan students receive enough education. This situation will improve the civility of language that students in Papua use while conversing digitally. As a result, higher education institutions in Papua should pay more attention to standard communication patterns when academic consulting with lecturers as speech partners in the context of higher education in Papua in order to develop comprehensive and effective communication practices.
