Abstract

History lecturers who approach their work positively are more likely to be more engaged in their work than those who do not. Nigerian history lecturers have not been examined in terms of how psychological interventions can improve their work engagement. The present research examined the research dataset of an online rational emotive behavior therapy (online REBT) on work engagement among Nigerian history lecturers at higher education institutions. The sample consisted of 31 history lecturers, 16 of whom were randomly assigned to the online REBT group and 15 to a waiting-list control group. A repeated measures ANOVA was conducted at a level of 0.05 probability using IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences software. Comparing the two groups, the dataset shows that history lecturers in the online intervention group exhibited significantly higher work engagement scores than those in the waiting list control group (p=.000). The one-month follow up dataset reveal that history lecturers who participated in the online REBT intervention continued to feel engaged at work compared to those in the waiting list control group (p=.000). Thus, a significant improvement in work engagement scores of history lecturers was associated with the online REBT intervention. Future studies with a larger sample size are needed.

Abstract

Pressure during the learning process is a common thing experienced by students. At some points, this pressure will be beneficial in increasing fighting power and motivation, but on the other hand, high-pressure conditions will affect students' mental health. This condition was  also experienced when students entered the learning phase during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although several studies have revealed the effectiveness of distance learning during the pandemic, this study aims to reveal causal factors of learning pressure conditions during the pandemic such that it can trigger the emergence of academic stress. This study involved 750 students spread throughout Indonesia. Data gathering was through the use of a questionnaire with indicators developed from existing measuring tools. Data analysis using Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with Model Measurement Analysis (MMA)  indicate loading, Cronbach Alpha, composite reliability, Average Variance Extracted (AVE) in fit conditions, and Structural Model testing also demonstrated  valid condition and fit. The analysis shows a positive relationship between the predictors of the structural model consisting of self-expectation, despondency, grade worriness, and workload, which impact student learning pressures during the pandemic. There is an effect of workload mediation on the relationship between self-expectation and learning pressure. In reducing and controlling student learning pressures during a pandemic, it is necessary to consider these factors in learning activities.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the correlates of entrepreneurial intention among a sample of high school students with neurodevelopment disorders. The study was conducted using a correlational survey research design. The research data were collected from one hundred college students diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders through the use of a questionnaire. The study findings indicated that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control of these students with neurodevelopmental disorders were significantly linked to their entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study demonstrate the significance of the Theory of Planned Behavior in analyzing the entrepreneurial intention of Nigerian high school students diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders. It is critical for career counselors to assist students with neurodevelopmental disorders in identifying the skills or resources needed to succeed as entrepreneurs. Career counselors should guide them on how to mitigate any difficulties they might experience in finding an appropriate business venture that takes into account the severity of their disability.

Abstract

The repentant bath of Abah Anom's Inabah is hydrotherapy, and many parties admit its success in curing drug addicts. However, many parties have yet to understand bathing repentance in the concept and implementation process. This paper described the concept and implementation of the Abah Anom's Inabah. In addition, this article is also projected to explain the impact of the repentance bath on drug addict patients. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this research are conceptually the Abah Anom's Inabah as a form of internal and external hydrotherapy to heal drug addicts is based on the postulate of the Qur'an and hadith. Such as concerning water as the primary source of life for God's creatures, concerning bath as a way to purify both physical and mental conditions, the benefits of water in purifying physical and mental states, concerning water from the sky (rain) as a purifier and the prohibition of khamr (which is intoxicating). The implementation of the Abah Anom’s Inabah is like the janābah bath or the bath performed after having major ḥadaś by reading special intentions and prayers. It is carried out in the last third of the night every morning at around 02.00 am in stages: the preparation, the implementation, and the closing. Based on the data, it was concluded that Abah Anom's Inabah positively impacts patients through self-awareness, body cleanliness from toxins, and peace of soul.
