Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of the role of fathers with self-determination, the relationship of peer social support with self-determination, and the relationship between the role of fathers and peer social support with self-determination in adolescent drug addicts. The population in this study were adolescent drug addicts in Medan Plus Addiction Recovery Clinic. A sample of 54 teenagers were taken by purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a scale of self-determination, the scale of the role of fathers and the scale of peer social support. The results of multiple regression analysis showed a Freg value of 11,071 with p = 0,000 (p 0,005), which indicated that there was a significant relationship between self-determination and the role of fathers with peer social support. Partially, there is a relationship between self-determination with the role of father rxy = 0.543 with p 0.01, and there is a relationship between social support of peers with self-determination rxy = 0.384 with p 0.01. R2 value of 0.303 means the role of fathers and social support of peers together make an effective contribution of 30.3% of self-determination.

Abstract

The purpose this study was to determine the relationship between secure attachment with achievement motivation,  the relationship between autonomy with achievement motivation, and the relationship between secure attachment and autonomy with achievement motivation in adolescents students. The population of this research was students of class X, XI and XII Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Tebing Tinggi. The sample was 103 students were take by stratified random sampling technique. This study used secure attachment scale, autonomy scale, and achievement motivation scale. Double regression analysis showed FCOUNT  33, 482 with  p = 0,000 (p0,005). The result indicate that there was significant correlation between secure attachment and autonomy with achievement. Patrially, there is a significant relationship secure attachment with achievement rxy = 0,365 with  p 0,01 and there is a significant relationship between autonomy with achievement motivation  rxy = 0,361 with  p 0,01. R2 square value was 0, 527 it means that secure attachment and autonomy simultaneously contribute 52,7% toward achievement motivation.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the hardiness on a Single Mother. This study used qualitative research. The method of collecting data using in-depth interviews. Respondents in this research were two Single Mothers. The results showed that a respondent I became a single mother for the death and respondent II for divorce. Aspect Control which is owned by a single mother in the respondents I tried to solve the financial problems intelligently and to belief in God, the respondent II resolve everything concerning the future of herself and the children. Commitment of the respondents have in common is: trying to forget her husband and live a life of its own and think about the future of children. Challenge owned by the two respondent there are any differences, namely: the respondents I assume that the challenges of living makes it learned that he is strong while the second respondent considers the challenges of life as life lessons. Factors that developing hardiness in both the respondents, namely: support for families and children, social skills in a social environment, the process of learning to life experinces, and their strong characters.Keyword :hardiness, single mother

Abstract

Changing lifestyle or habits means changing one’s perspective and changing their paradigm. The arrangement of good behavior through the provision of healthy lifestyle modules to patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy should be supported with high motivation. The study aims to find out the effect of providing healthy lifestyle modules and motivation to improve the quality of life of patients. This study is an experimental quasi-research with a 2x2 factorial design involving a sample of 30 chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy at Rumah Sakit Khusus Ginjal Rasyida Medan, North Sumatra Indonesia. Through the analysis of multiple linear regression analysis, the results showed a significant influence between the provision of healthy lifestyle modules on improving quality of life. Other findings suggest differences in quality of life between patients with high motivation levels and low-motivated patients. This study proposes further studies to examine the effectiveness of modules and improve quality of life against different patient cultural backgrounds.

Abstract

Academic procrastination carried out in various fields is often the cause of the failure of a teenager/student. Procrastination has many negative impacts, in the form of delays, wasted time, tasks become neglected, even when completed the results are not optimal. This research was conducted to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy with academic procrastination in junior high school (SMP) students. This study used an explanatory method, with a population of 159 students and  a sample of 25% in the study, namely 40 students at the SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Medan, the data collection method used was a Likert scale to measure the independent variables, namely emotional intelligence and self-efficacy by the dependent variable is academic procrastination. Then, research instruments were tested in the form of validity and reliability tests, while the data analysis techniques used were correlation techniques, simple and multiple linear regression, and partial correlation. The results showed that the average student was in the category of academic procrastination, moderate emotional intelligence and self-efficacy, and in the regression there was a significant and negative effect between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy on academic procrastination, thus partially emotional intelligence and efficacy were significantly can predict academic procrastination, emotional intelligence is higher than self-efficacy in reducing academic procrastination attitudes. simple and multiple linear regression, and partial correlation. The results of this study are expected to contribute to schools or educators in order to reduce students' academic procrastination rates by facilitating teaching and learning that fosters emotional intelligence and increases students' self-confidence to carry out mandated tasks
