Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) atau disebut diabetes saja merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolik menahun akibat pankreas tidak memproduksi cukup insulin atau tubuh tidak dapat menggunakan insulin yang di produksi secara efektif. Madu adalah cairan kental manis yang dihasilkan oleh lebah, bahan ini telah lama di gunakan sebagai obat dan penelitian yang dilakukan pada penelitian dekade terakhir telah menunjukkan manfaat yang besar dari madu. Tujuan review untuk mengkaji lebih lanjut pengaruh penggunaan madu dalam pertumbuhan jaringan baru (granulasi) pada luka, khususnya DFU. Metode pencarian artikel yang relevan menggunakan database PubMed dan search engine Google Schoolar. Hasil tujuh artikel masuk dalam tinjauan literatur.  Penggunaan madu telah terbukti dapat menyembuhkan luka diebetik serta memperpendek periode pengobatan. Efek anti bakteri dari madu dapat membantu mengatasi infeksi pada luka dan anti inflamasinya dapat mengurangi nyeri serta meningkatkan sirkulasi yang berpengaruh pada proses penyembuhan. Kesimpulan: dressing menggunakan madu lebih aman dan lebih efektif untuk perawatan DFU juga memperpendek periode pengobatan, meningkatkan tingkat pembersihan bakteri dan mengurangi resiko amputasi.

Abstract

Indonesia is the highest in Southeast Asia in thyroid disorders, there are 1.7 million people  (IMS Health survey, 2015). Prevalence of thyroid disease incidence in Gorontalo according to Basic Health Research (Riskesdas, 2013) Gorontalo occupies the 28th position of 33 provinces with a diagnosis of hyperthyroid disease there are 2,264 people with thyroid desease. Data from the health service in 2019 said the highest number in Gorontalo was the working area of Hulontalangi Health Center, which was as many as 50 cases. The number is expected to continue to increase due to the lack of public knowledge about recognizing the symptoms of thyroid disorder. To solves these problems, it is important to do socialization and assistance to health cadres in conducting early detection of thyroid disorders in the community. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge and skills for health cadres in conducting early screening of thyroid disorders. The partner village in this activity is Hulontalangi Village of Gorontalo City with the target of the activity is a health cadre of 22 people. The methods carried out in this activity are (1) health education and training of thyroid disorders, (2) early screening training of thyroid disorders (3) advocacy through cadre assistance in early screening of thyroid disorders in the community. The results of this activity showed an increase in cadre knowledge about thyroid disorders, an increase in cadre skills in early detection of thyroid disorders and we found 11 new cases of thyroid disorder. With the results of the new case findings, handling in patients can be done immediately and optimally.

Abstract

Kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat di wilayah pesisir pada umumnya merupakan kegiatan masyarakat nelayan yang memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dengan masyarakat lainnya. Perbedaan tersebut disebabkan oleh hubungan yang erat dengan karakteristik ekonomi pesisir, kondisi sosial, dan keterbukaan sarana dan prasarana pendukung. Isu yang sering muncul di wilayah pesisir adalah rendahnya tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat dan rendahnya kualitas lingkungan. Alasan dilaksanakannya aksi bakti sosial ini adalah untuk memberikan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat di Kota Ponelo tentang pentingnya mewujudkan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) dengan memanfaatkan jamban sehat dan memberikan bantuan pembuatan jamban sehat. Adapun strategi dalam melaksanakan kegiatan ini meliputi perencanaan, penggunaan, pengawasan dan penilaian. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap upaya sanitasi dan kebersihan lingkungan melalui penyuluhan dan pembiasaan penggunaan jamban sehat, dan selama kegiatan penyuluhan antusiasme masyarakat sangat tinggi terhadap pemanfaatan jamban sehat. Kesimpulannya, dalam mengupayakan perilaku tersebut, diperlukan komitmen bersama untuk saling mendukung dalam memajukan kesejahteraan masyarakat, khususnya keluarga, sehingga peningkatan kesejahteraan dapat tercapai dalam dunia yang sempurna.Kata kunci: Sanitasi; Jamban sehat; Lingkungan.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is not just a disease, but also a challenge to the quality of life. However, we can manage this disease and live healthier with consistent small steps. One of them is doing regular foot exercises. Objective: This community service increases public awareness of the importance of foot exercises for diabetics, providing education on the correct foot exercise techniques. Method: Community service was conducted on June 25, 2024, at the Dutohe Barat Village Office Hall, Kabila District, Bone Bolango Regency. Results: From the evaluation of the level of knowledge and skills of health cadres and families for screening non-communicable diseases (PTM) before the program, the average value was 33% and after the program, the data was 100% with an average increase of 67%. Meanwhile, the results of the evaluation of the knowledge and skills of target partners about foot exercises before the program, the average value was 38.4% and after the program, the data was 100% with an average increase of 61.6%. Conclusion: Foot exercise training was enthusiastically welcomed by cadres and diabetics.

Abstract

Gorontalo placed on 7th province with the highest diabetes mellitus sufferers from in Indonesia. One of the areas in the city of Gorontalo that has quite a high number of Diabetes Mellitus sufferers is the Dungingi sub-district with a total of 62 people over the last 3 months. 70% of DM sufferers who come to the Community Health Center for examination have uncontrolled blood sugar because the patient does not carry out proper self care rules, whether in diet, physical activity, stress management and controlling blood sugar. Therefore, this community service activity is expected to be able to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of diabetes mellitus patients in carrying out self-care so that the quality of life of Diabetes Mellitus sufferers in the Dungingi Region can improve. This community service programme aims to empower peer group support of diabetes patient to increase the motivation of DM patients to carry out self-care management. Apart from involving patients, health cadres are also trained as peer group facilitators so that the sustainability of this activity in the community can be guaranteed. This Community Service begins with socialization and formation of peer groups, peer group activity sessions, and evaluation. From the results of this activity, it was found that there was improvement in self-care abilities in patients with an average increase of 8 scores with a pretest score of 18 and a posttest score of 27.8. It was also found that there was a decrease in blood glucose levels with average pretest value 295 mg/dL and posttest value 210 mg/dL
